Lunatic self-abuse ramblings disguised as social commentary. Please get help

Not men as a whole, but the idea of ‘the wall’ is a retributive fantasy for maladjusted men (and women). Looks fade over time, and women are judged more harshly for their looks, but exactly how this happens varies from person to person and is typically nothing so sudden as a ‘wall’ beyond which they are no longer attractive. For some women it never happens at all!

Men choose to edit themselves to pursue sex. That is a choice they make, not something women coerce them to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/24 12:26 AM

I don’t think this language expresses any truth at all! Being able to fuck easily does not give women any kind of power over men.

Beauty and youth have benefits for women that aren’t accessible to men, so men fantasize about those benefits being taken away as a kind of comeuppance. Women do the same, but for women they don’t like.

Just to clarify I don’t even mean that in a ‘men are so insecure’ way - I think feeling that kind of resentment is natural. If one person always has more options than the other in a relationship, it probably won’t be a very healthy relationship, and it’s liable to make the more dependent party put up with things they shouldn’t. I just don’t know why that needs to be framed as a power imbalance.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 07:13 PM

For the life of me I do not understand the desire to frame everything as a power imbalance. What ‘power’ straight women have over men because it’s easier to fuck? The core point is fine if you give up the sensationalist language: that women can more easily engage in hookup culture breeds resentment in men. Fwiw I think women are equally resentful of men that have an easy time hooking up - imo that’s what drives biphobia for the most part, that it’s pretty easy for a bi guy to hook up with a guy …

Conservative, advanced countries have the same problem with fertility rates that secular countries do

Very rarely does anyone, man or woman, have a quantifiable standard for physical attributes they apply in every case. Romantic attraction is more complicated than that.

Nope. I’m a man, cold approaching women in public is an incredibly retarded way to meet them, the comment above yours is correct

He didn’t enjoy it, though. You could fuck a guy every day of your life, if you aren’t attracted to men you still aren’t gay.

Alright, I’ll bite. Explain to me precisely what you think is gay about the guy in the story.

Man, the other responses to this post are pure lizard-brained hysteria. Of course there is nothing gay about this man - he tried gay sex and he didn’t like it! Come on, people!

Iran has sub-replacement fertility. The driving cause of demographic transition is urbanization - big families have less economic utility in cities than they do in rural subsistence agriculture lifestyles. No amount of culture war nonsense will change this, from the right or the left.

Most things that are creepy aren’t going to kill you, whether it’s a man or a woman doing it.

Women can create a feeling of immediate fear/danger in men, just not (typically) through brute physical strength. One example: girl calls guy gay for not sleeping with her. There is no physical threat, but a social one; the implication is that if the man doesn’t do what she wants, she’ll try to manipulate him into doing so through social shaming.

You get more social prestige for fucking a lot, but that’s a different thing from society saying that people who have a lot of sex are good people. I don’t think “nice guys” are doing something morally unjustified in being frustrated, but it’s not really a resolvable issue, and giving into that frustration makes you socially desperate, something deeply unattractive in itself.

Plenty of people still meet through friends, work, clubs, etc. You were not born too late to experience this.

Idk man I’m a guy and I get icks from women. You’re looking for logic in romantic attraction and you won’t find it. Attraction is a gestalt thing, not a list of pros and cons. Features that attract you to someone might repulse you in a different context. I agree in that I wish people would just accept this instead of ginning up excuses that don’t make sense. People just made up the whole “guys don’t wash their ass” thing, that’s just not something that’s ever been a problem.

Not a charity explicitly oriented at women, but I volunteer with STEM tutoring at a local library and most of my students are girls in high school or young women in CC

It’s probably dating dynamics in part. We have redefined gender roles in such a way that it’s no great mark of shame for a woman to be romantically unsuccessful, while men who are in a similar position are failures. I think this is the ‘rational kernel’ of the incel/manosphere claim that women only date jacked rich chads now - it’s not literally true but an attempt to express the more obscure feeling that nowadays men need women more than women need men. More broadly ppl don’t really agree on th…

I don’t follow. You can share something minor, only after getting to know a person, and still express yourself in the way I described.

I don’t know that this is true of you, but people I know personally who say this are typically ‘vulnerable’ in ways that project mental and emotional instability. There is the obvious guy punching a hole in drywall meme, but even less extreme things like shouting, stomping, neurotically complaining about the same issue, etc come off as unsettling. I am a man and when women behave like that I am less attracted to them for it.

I’m a bi guy, very forward about it. Dated plenty of women, some even pretty socially conservative, but none ever thought like this or had an issue with it.

A lot of dating app profiles are garbage tbh, you can probably put yourself ahead of the curve with a few nice pictures and a bio with a little bit of thought put into it. If you don't take it too seriously or have any expectations of it, it can be fun. Plus it's not like you're investing any resources into them.

The need to 'mate guard' in general doesn't make much sense to me. I wouldn't date another person if I couldn't trust them to turn down the advances of others. I don't want to spend time mediating someone else's behavior. I don't really think the more 'subtle' mate guarding techniques you mentioned are reviled or particularly problematic, though. Sometimes you or your partner just wants to indicate to the group that you're spoken for, so as not to give anyone the wrong idea.

I’m a feminist man that’s dated a few feminist women in my life. It’s hard to describe the dating style of ‘feminist women’ as a whole because they run the gamut in terms of personality (like any other political group really). What I can say is that feminism and progressive politics in general function as a subculture, so if you approach feminists from outside of that subculture you’ll have less to identify with and dating them will be more difficult. When it comes to hook ups, I don’t really th…
