Morals are what a person should do, based on some set of theories. PUA is a moral guideline and it is, at times, very condescending. How can you even say that?

In what way?

I appreciate the long, thoughtful post, though I'm not sure what to think of your analogy. I thought maybe the mud represented something, but then you go into suits and having a job. My contention, this time, is the dual nature of spending a lot of time pretending you don't care (to the point where it's a common point here of being told not to care) while seemingly spending countless hours every week analysing every possible angle of chatting with women. I agree with the idea that a confident se…

I know I am. But I thought the idea is that with seduction, we don't have to play women's games and we can be independent and care-free. The mantra I've picked up is to not care. And yet, it's transformed into this, the same sort of analysis investment bankers do when researching corporate valuations. How can any honest person put this much effort and planning into something like this and not care?

It was a joke and is basically my view of how the seduction community seems to manifest. I like bits and pieces, particularly that we are in control of our own happiness and worth and not to put anybody on a pedestal. But then there are the parts where people talk about drastically changing your lifestyle (they call it regularly going out of your comfort-zone, but it's doing things you don't like to attract women) and it just runs counter to the whole independence and not-caring motif. The commu…

Yes, we can analyse the number of positive content and negative content. Maybe even assign words numbers and start to generate graphs. We'll document and analyse the shit out of everything. Just what we need.

I was thinking about what you said today, and it reminds me of a conversation I was having with a friend a few months ago. I do very well in very public social situations - like public speaking or in any sort of official/formal capacity. I remember discussing that I felt much more comfortable in larger, more formal groups than smaller, intimate groups. I've never made an effort to make friends (all of my friends have made an effort to break through to me and many have later commented that it's d…

I really like this post. It's very fair and comes across as non-judgemental. I think it's probably pretty accurate for overall stuff. I wouldn't say that I'm necessarily miserable, though. I'm in a strange state of having almost everything just right. But I have something to consider. Thanks. Cheers!

But you said not to have a goal of getting your dick wet.

I don't follow seddit much, so I don't know what hb9.5 means. I keep an eye out for a thing here or there that might seem useful, otherwise most of it seems to be about either self-confidence or spending a lot of time caring about something you're pretending you don't care about. I have difficulty empathizing with people, which is why I have trouble keeping interest in fictional characters. I sincerely don't care about most people unless I know them very well (at which point, I probably only car…

Why would I look for new friends?

I understand and would even agree that to make somebody like you, these are important. I'm asking how you can take a genuine interest in somebody you don't know without thinking about how it benefits you ("... quit thinking that the goal is getting your dick wet."). It's that part I'm finding difficult and I'm genuinely asking what one does.

I think seddit needs to make a guide on how to enjoy people, because quite frankly I don't give a fuck about some chick's earrings or coffee shops.

Maybe it's just a case of difference in lifestyle. I work, full-time, in finance. I'm also full-time in professional school (doing my studies during evenings and weekends). 99% of my time is for my career and that 1% is for play. Social events I use as networking events for business. I already am eating with people and discussing abstract ideas on company time. You network by being interesting and getting people to like you. The idea of spending what free time I have building a friendship that g…

I guess I just don't see what you get out of an intimate friendship, with men or women. It sounds like you give up a lot of time to essentially entertain people. Which is one of my biggest beefs with casual dating, even when it does result in just sex.

I don't get how the fuck a lot of you sedditors have all this time to be just hanging out with women, going to clubs regularly, et cetera. I would think if anything, the idea of a hookup is that it requires minimal time investment. I mean, it's neat to learn a couple things on here to give yourself an edge, but some of you spend so much time I don't get the point. Like you, OP: how bored do you have to be that you so regularly entertain guests you are not interested in?

I think it's more than that. If/when I find somebody that meets a certain level of compatibility that we decide to marry and have a family, I'm willing to put off having sex with other women (even when the sex inevitably slows down in the marriage) if it means my hypothetical wife puts off having sex with other men. I have a biological (and social) urge where this deal is beneficial. I find this reddit useful in some ways, but not in others (I have a sense that casual sex is morally wrong).

It's been the mutually beneficial situation for men and women for several generations. Women secure resources (from a man), a man secures legitimate offspring. The sexual revolution happened, sure, but it'll take more than that to completely make the above irrelevant.

I've never had to meet people on my own before. They were always introduced to me by friends, family, or in school. The 420 comment is just that Vancouver is a pretty laid-back city in terms of that sort of thing and I'm probably a bit too uptight to be able to find friends anyway (my natural inclination is toward social conservatism). I don't know anybody in those cities that would be able to find me a job and a quick look on Craigslist looks like jobs in the industry right now are sparse. I wo…

I want to say it probably would, but I'm not sure how big of one. Purportedly it's difficult to meet people there. Plus I'm not at all into the whole 420 thing and probably not very likeable in that sort of city. It would really screw with my finances though. I'm at the start of my career with little work experience and 2/3 of my paycheque goes directly toward paying for my post-grad designation coursework. I'm not sure how easy it would be to quit my finance job and even if I do to try to find …

I'm jealous. I'm 25 (as of today) and living in suburbs surrounding Vancouver (in Canada). Anything to do is a 1.5-2.5 hour commute (each way). Out of this suburban city of 80,000 (with a strong traditional agricultural base), estimates with Stats Canada figures puts the population of single women in their 20s at ~200-300. Everybody gets married and pops out kids right after highschool. I hate it here, but it's where my career has me right now.

Every local group for me on meetup.com is either mothers looking to be friends with other mothers or programming groups.
