Why are you so obsessed with shitting on incels? This is the third post you made about the subject just this week. You're obviously not willing to have your views changed.

If you were gay, and you met someone like yourself, would you ask that person out or would you find them unappealing for a relationship with? I already answered this question. https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/d5fqsl/q4m_if_you_were_a_straight_woman_would_you_date/f0ljs59/ Now, if I were a gay man, I'd probably date me.

You're also not using hypergamy by its classical definition then, dude. Yeah, but the definition you used has nothing to do with what hypergamy is. Hypergamy isn't being attracted to the best option you have, hypergamy is dating someone who is above you. So, you don't generally think you would be a very good catch in a hetero relationship? Women are not interested in dating someone like me, so no. Would you feel the same way if you were gay? Probably not. What would a hypothetical gay man apprec…

There is status, however -- so, if you were a woman, you would consider yourself too low class to be dateable as a man? I was using hypergamy in the context of looks. Ugly men are willing to date their looksmatch, ugly women aren't. But sure, my lack of status would be a problem too.

So... hypergamy being essentially "being attracted to the best option" That's not what hypergamy means. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypergamy Hypergamy is a term used in social science for the act or practice of a person marrying a spouse of higher caste or social status than themselves. does that mean you do not consider yourself an ideal option to women? I'm short, brown, and have a below average face. So, no, I'm not the ideal option of any woman.

No, because if I where a woman I'd be hypergamous. Now, if I were a gay man, I'd probably date me.

They don’t believe those stats Because those stats are not trustworthy. It is a fact that women lie about their n count on surveys. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn3936-fake-lie-detector-reveals-womens-sex-lies/ Fisher and Alexander surveyed over 200 unmarried, heterosexual college students aged 18 to 25. One group filled in questionnaires having been told the researcher might view their responses. A second group filled in the survey completely anonymously, alone in a room. A third group …

attractiveness is not objective at all. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10825783 Common maxims about beauty suggest that attractiveness is not important in life. In contrast, both fitness-related evolutionary theory and socialization theory suggest that attractiveness influences development and interaction. In 11 meta-analyses, the authors evaluate these contradictory claims, demonstrating that (a) raters agree about who is and is not attractive, both within and across cultures; (b) attracti…

We present new data from a nationally representative 2017 survey of American adults. For heterosexual couples in the U.S., meeting online has become the most popular way couples meet, eclipsing meeting through friends for the first time around 2013. Moreover, among the couples who meet online, the proportion who have met through the mediation of third persons has declined over time. We find that Internet meeting is displacing the roles that family and friends once played in bringing couples toge…

From the WaPo article: Since 2008, the share of men younger than 30 reporting no sex has nearly tripled, to 28 percent.

While it is true that there have always existed men who couldn't get laid, the rates of sexless men have risen a lot recently. From 2008 to 2018 the percentage of sexless men have nearly tripled.

The percentage of men between 18 and 30 not having sex has nearly tripled in the last decade. This seems like a crises to me.

I've seen posts about men who couldn't get hard because of porn https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/jsm.12853 We found little evidence of the association between pornography use and male sexual health disturbances. Contrary to raising public concerns, pornography does not seem to be a significant risk factor for younger men's desire, erectile, or orgasmic difficulties.

No strings attached sex is easy to come by No strings attached sex is not "easy to come by" to the vast majority of men.

The article doesn't provide any evidence that pornography raises men's standards of attractiveness. The article claims that a study shows that men who prefer pornography to real-world sexual encounters are more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction and are less likely to be satisfied with sexual intercourse, then the article says that unrealistic expectations of sex caused by porn could be the cause of this, but that's just an hypothesis, it doesn't have any data to back it up. Moreover onl…

A lot of man raise their standards of what looks attractive based on porn though. I haven't seen this happen in real life, and I also haven't seen any studies that show this to be the a real phenomenon.

My point isn't that porn effects men's smv, my point is that porn doesn't effect men's perception of their smv and therefore it doesn't effect their expectations. For instance, average men don't think that they're able to attract high smv women just because they watch porn videos of high smv women. On the other hand average women think that because they are able to attract high smv for one night stands, they should be able to attract high smv men for long term relationships.

Would you say something similar about men and porn consumption these days? I just always see agreement that tech has fundamentally changed how women view themselves and their prospects but then the same men tend to argue the widespread consumption of porn on demand and access to all manner of porn has had zero effect on men's expectations. The difference is that men are not under the illusion that they could fuck a woman that looks like a pornstar. Meanwhile, women that use online dating think t…
