Joe Rogan is hit or miss. It depends on his guest and when he has someone who can speak to men's rights or the social justice plague it's really good. I avoid episodes where he has people on to talk about psychedelics for 3 hours. I listened to Black Phillip for a while and it's also hit or miss depending on the guest. But every episode is red pill/alpha male and I did learn from him. The Tim Ferriss Show is really good for how to achieve your goals. Common Sense with Dan Carlin is good for a re…

Lots of good advice has already been given, so let me tell you the one thing that I think you should consider: *Manage every single dollar that you earn as if one day you may be forced to hand over half of it. * You want to be married some day and that's great. But no matter how well you plan, how cautious you are about finding the right woman, or how confident you are that your love of her will see you through any difficulty, remember that you have a 50% chance of losing 50% of YOUR money if SH…

At this point you've trained her to pursue that strategy. Every once in a while I come across a statement that seems so simple but applies to so many questions that I'm trying to answer. This is one of those moments. Thanks for that.

I killed it years ago because 1) I couldn't stand seeing things posted by people that I know were full of shit (ie. my niece who has been in and out of rehab and her pictures with quotes about overcoming struggles), and 2) getting together with friends who could only talk about what other people posted. To my surprise, the benefit of not having a Facebook account has been a slight elevation in status when someone asks to friend me. My reply is simple and not preachy: "I don't have Facebook." The…

What's wrong with telling him you agree to disagree? He's in a position of power and there's probably some sadistic part of him that's enjoying your responding to his arguments. Shut him down with an armistice and enjoy the possibility that your unwillingness to hand over a win will drive him nuts.

Stop being the organizer and trying to get them on board with what you want to do. Instead, make plans, invite them, and follow through no matter how they respond. When you do whatever the fuck you want to do and it doesn't conform with the rest of the crowd it raises your status in their minds. They may also be insulted and criticize you but that is their way of trying to bring you back to their level. Try it, just one night, and see the reaction.

I'd like to add the word "just" to your list. I've had to consciously monitor myself in personal and professional messages to stop using it. I think it's victimizing yourself and seeking sympathy when you make a request rather than state what you want. Examples: "I just wanted to remind you that I need that report by tomorrow" should be "Don't forget that I need that report by tomorrow." "I was just wondering if you're free on Friday night" should be "I want to see you on Friday night." "I'm jus…

I like Tim Ferriss and Joe Rogan because they reinforce the idea that men can be alpha while having intelligent debate and learning from people who are successful in their chosen fields. You Are Not So Smart is really good at explaining the psychology behind delusion and why people do stupid things. I love everything that Gimlet Media does. It's really well produced and written. Check out Reply All and Mystery Show. For comedy, Doug Loves Movies and How Did This Made.

You should look into Buddhism and the practice of detachment. You don't have to be emotionless and you can feel love for someone, but what you're talking about is being attached to a person and/or some belief that life should work in a specific way.

Go to the party and don't be stuck to her. In fact, go off, meet people on your own, make them laugh, and be somewhat unavailable to her because you're fucking awesome and everyone likes talking to you. She'll see your status and won't want to let you go.

Go to the library. Read. Listen to books on tape. If the first chapter doesn't grab your attention then move on to a different topic. Eventually you'll connect with something and can keep researching it more, including ways to deal with what is bothering you.

She was probably "the one", the perfect woman, a woman who knew you so well that you could never be unhappy while she was committed to taking care of you and all your needs. Life is meaningless because she's not there by your side, squeezing out beautiful, well behaved children, keeping the house clean, meeting you at the door with your slippers and a freshly grilled steak. Seriously, whatever visions you're having while pining for this woman are fantasies. At 3 months you were still in the hone…

In a case like that this works because you know exactly what she wants and make it clear that it won't work out. Anything else (not having fun, no time, etc) will make her try to adapt to your needs. But everyone knows that you can't make yourself feel something that isn't there. Also, you're not lying. Even if you never had any intention of committing to her, there was always the chance that you might have connected emotionally. It just didn't happen. Good luck with it.

"I don't feel an emotional connection." You're not saying that she's not attractive, you're letting her know that she's not going to get what she really wants from a relationship. If a woman said to you, "I don't feel a physical connection", you would be glad to know because that's your priority, even if she's in love with you. Just be warned, you'll probably still have to have a conversation and there might be tears.

You say that everyone loves you, including some of the attractive women, yet you're obsessed with the percentage who have no interest in you for reasons that you'll never know. Sounds like you're overly sensitive to rejection by women that you're overly attracted to. This is what happens when you put their status above your own. You attach their attractiveness to your value and when you're ignored you assume something is wrong with you. It's bothering you so much you're asking for an ego boost o…

Agreed. And if a mom takes interest in the dad she'll subconsciously start mothering and paying more attention to his daughter.

A straight "yes" to either question will get you in quicker, but you'll also have to talk about your feelings and plans for the future way sooner than you're probably ready for. A straight "no" will shut her down completely, unless she's desperate and delusional, in which case you might get in but will find yourself in constant debate with her about the value of marriage and/or creating a child together. (I had one woman go so far as to argue that if we weren't married she could not make decisio…

EDIT: Shit, sorry, I didn't realize the formatting was fucked up. Long time single dad here, with lots of lessons learned from this type of situation. If your goal is a long-term relationship, more kids, and marriage, stop reading here and just be a nice guy to them. Otherwise... My best advice: Don't get involved with the mothers of your daughter's friends. When it goes bad (and it will), your daughter will be asking why she can't see her friend anymore and you'll have to make up some lie. You …

So much good advice/opinion from everyone. I'll just add one point. She should WANT you, her current boyfriend, to accompany her to a party. She should be declining the invitation if you aren't welcome there. And if she recognizes that your presence will cause drama with the ex, then she should also recognize that the situation overall will cause drama with you. Thus, the best decision is to decline and send her best wishes to her friends from a distance. That's what you do when you're in a comm…

It's likely that he meant that he's going to use the text conversations you've had against her in the divorce, which means that you could potentially be called to testify if it goes to trial. Unless they have millions of dollars to fight over or he wants to show her to be an unfit mother to gain custody of any kids, a trial is very unlikely. Still you're better off not getting involved. If he's contacting you through different channels, he may be unstable enough to show up at your house. And rem…

For now she's just playing along repeating whatever you say until she actually gets pregnant, at which time you're officially castrated and locked into providing for her for the next 20 years. Yup. Some of us learned the hard way about the ability of a woman to be compliant, agreeable, and motivated to become everything their man wants them to be, only to turn it all around once they squeeze out a puppy or two. OP, if you use an online calendar, set a reminder for 3 years from now, after you've …

I agree, especially that last paragraph. Nothing messes with a passive aggressive persons mind more than agreeing with them. Shuts them right down. "Yeah, he's definitely hot, perfect for you." Not only is it not an argument but you just rejected her. Now she has to prove herself worthy to you.

Date a lot of men and date them for a long time to really get to know them. Have many options and make sure that they know that you have options. You'll weed out the closet betas and any true alphas will appreciate having fun with you while knowing that they're not responsible to you. Eventually you'll find someone with the right compatibility and balance of power, someone who gets it and isn't insecure because you didn't have the traditional, fantasy courtship. There are emotional risks, of cou…

Similar for me. I used to desperately pay attention to every look and comment that women made to me hoping to find some sign of interest. If I did see interest I would spend weeks being the nice guy trying to convince her that I was boyfriend material. Now, I get women showing obvious interest all the time and I only have to figure out it which ones are going to be pains in the ass and which are going to be fun. I tell them right away that I'm not interested in anything serious and they want me …

As a single dad who has dated many a single mom I'd say this is spot on. One more observation that I'll make is that most single moms live the fantasy that they can have something better the second time around. I've ended a few relationships because the woman wanted another baby, another marriage or a blended family because "I want to do it right this time." It's fucking delusional and they completely ignore the fact that the dynamics are exponentially more complex "this time" when you have to s…

Not true. This is like saying "women will always order a glass of wine for you when you go out to dinner, so you better learn to like the taste of wine". She likes wine, good for her, keep it out of my glass. She likes drama, good for her, keep it out of my life. I think OP's point is that, yes, they are going to create drama, but you have to teach them that you're not going to be part of it and, in fact, it's going to get them the exact opposite reaction than their looking for.

If you said you can't talk to girls because you're anxious or lack confidence that would be something to work on. But being bored means you don't really want to talk them. Find something else to do with your time.

Last week, a friend gave my number to an HB9 (my first ever) and we got into a super sexual and sarcastic text game for about 5 days. I read this post every day and kept reminding myself that I had to keep things funny and provocative. We finally met and went out for dinner and talked about past relationships the whole time. She stopped replying to my texts the next day. Don't know why I lost my mind so easily but I appreciate being able to go back to this post and at least know what went wrong.…
