If you're not ready for kids, don't have them, for the sake of the kids. It's not about you anymore, your need for polyamory, your lifestyle, etc. Just throwing in my two cents: for me I wouldn't mind a monogamous, long term living situation, although in my case too they never worked out. Everyone has certain alpha characteristics, and women seek out those alpha characteristics, generally intelligence, strength, sociability, which will in turn increase chances of survival of their offspring. People are mushy and so are women, they make mistakes and oftentimes alpha attributes will have very awful drawbacks.
