No, you're right. If you really want to be taken seriously you need to spell correctly.

I do not see any doublespeak in that statement. Care to elaborate?

indeed he did. unfortunately, there's just not much you can do in this state when it comes to domestic situations such as these, without a significant amount of evidence, money, and free time.

pretty much what you would expect: nothing aside from heartache.

except for the fact that the exact same thing happened to my friend not one year ago. I've heard this same story before, I counseled my friend through the same situation (albeit with a lower dollar amount involved). I'm not raging about it, I'm just pointing out that nothing in that story sounded specifically fictitious.

it's like that photo of the pigs yesterday. it will make the rounds of outrage on FB in a matter of hours, but when you post the actual source and take their outrage away... crickets

I'm happy that I came into this thread and found that I wasn't the only one who thought this was bullshit.

I use a car to get around. So should anyone who wants to date me. I tend to agree with you often, ann, but not on this one. I haven't had a car in years, and I never--let me repeat: never--expect other people to pick me up/drive me places. I will meet you there, and I'll probably get there before you. oh, and none of my girlfriends/girls I've dated have had a problem with that.

I haven't used this exact opener; the one I use is "wanna make out?" it works. sometimes you just make out, sometimes you get them home, sometimes they say no. but it works.

if you have the huevos to walk up to someone and ask them a question like that, they usually say yes. seriously. edit -- I forgot to mention: I've only done this after all parties have been drinking, I've never done it sober. (duh)

I was going to read through all the responses before I wrote this, but fuck it: I used to walk up to girls and ask them: "do you wanna make out?" sure they might say no, but usually they would say yes. man, walking up to an HB and asking them if they wanna play tongue-hockey is exhilarating. I got laid a lot, I never really had to play it smooth, I just had to act like I knew what I was doing; it was a better hack than you'll ever learn by looking at the side-bar on r/seddit. good luck, young pe…

I agree with Blaidd_Dwrg, mostly. don't respond now, but if the mother tries to contact you again tell her you will be filing an anti-harassment order with the police. don't say anything personal, don't say it wasn't your fault. oh, and save that text as evidence.

if I'm out (walking around, at a show, in a club, whatever) and I'm in the right mood, I've been known to walk up to a girl that I thought was pretty and simply say "you look very pretty today, have a great night!" and keep walking. you won't believe how it will make a girl's day, especially if you're not creepy about it. (and if she's not the typical fake tan, a & f wearing, peroxide-blonde type that always gets hit on)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
