If you witnessed the police murdering someone, would you intervene?

The police are not universally good. This comment chain is after all talking about the police assaulting an innocent civilian assisting an officer in need.

they're going to charge in like Patton's 5th, they're going hit you with everything they've got. How exactly would you describe this assault? When you see backup arrive just step away Let's see, risk life and limb defending someone, so that I can be attacked by his friends for not jumping away in time and who will almost certainly face no repercussions for their assault or chill in my car and watch the show. Gee that's a difficult decision, whatever shall I do?

The legality is going to vary by state. In Virginia an armed security guard on property he's employed to guard has powers similar ton those of the police. They can detain or arrest you. Unarmed guards can detain you until the police arrive.

So if I intervene to help an endangered officer, his friends will brutally assault me? Huh, guess I'm never doing that then.

It is an extraordinarily hard thing to endure. Having this person whom you love so much ripped out of your life, having to depend on the skill and decision making ability of others, feeling like everything is hopeless. Each day seemed worse than the one before it and each sleepless night stretched into eternity. There is no respite or relief from the pain of having a child taken. One especially bleak night after my daughter had been missing for about 2 months I drank a large amount of whiskey an…

My daughter's mother abducted her and fled to another state. It took 3 months and several thousand dollars, but my private detective found and served her. In court she told the judge that he had to give her custody because she was the mother and "that's how the law works". The judge calmly listened to her rant and when she was finished told her that she had no income, no stable residence, had absconded with a child depriving her of any contact with her father so not only would he be awarding me …

No she didn't. She got 3 life sentences for abusing and neglecting her granddaughter. Dressing as a witch was small part of the crime. From the article: Robinson assaulted her granddaughter for more than a year, prosecutors said, including burning the girl with cigarettes, smacking her in the face and beating her with a rolling pin. She painted her skin green and dressed in black whenever assuming the persona of the abusive “Nelda the Witch,” according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. Robi…

As a father who has sole physical custody of his daughter: fuck the stupid bitch who wrote this article. Men have been missing milestones and wondering if their children were sleeping sweetly for decades. That the scales may now be starting to balance is a good thing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
