A game where you make a team with the girl, your roommate makes a team with the friend. Beerpong, like you said, or any sort of old-school board game would be fun, one everyone played in their childhood, for nostalgia reasons and you can turn it into a drinking game. Kino away. So what? If you fear them, you have to show yourself that there is nothing to fear. Try and create the longest silence you can. Don't worry about the low value thing for now. This is an exercise. Here is some advice, don't like awkward silences? Look out for the next one, listen the silence, be aware of the other people. Observe it. Treat it like a science experiment. I enjoy them now, i think of them as a natural rhythm in conversation. You will soon be ok with them and learn that they are natural, also they can allow for interesting changes in the direction of a conversation. Also, regarding small talk...
