What was the final straw that led you to divorce?I found out through mutual friends after the fact. She took the divorce papers to someone who was a scholar in Thailand who read through said papers. He told her it would be 50/50 custody. Nowhere in the papers is that mentioned at all. Sidebar notation in 2022 the cost of filing for American Citizenship was 725 dollars. I had begun filling out the paperwork to file for her. Either way I was prepared to spend 725 dollars on her in 2022. As it turns out I'm better off w/o her. So is our son. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/08/25 09:54 AM
What was the final straw that led you to divorce?I filed for no contest divorce and sole custody. She signed without a fight. It cost me 725 dollars. Cut nice dry. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/08/25 01:13 PM
What was the final straw that led you to divorce? It was quite abrupt. She chose her selfish desires over her family. Cut n dry. She took it for granted that I'd just knuckle under and agree with her life changing decision. She bought a house in another town in another state w/o any input from me as per her words: "I knew you would not agree so I bought it anyway. And I believed you'd change your mind." LMFAO! Her plan was we would move into the cookie cutter house on a postage stamp lot in the subdivision in a city I'd never live in. She was e… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/08/25 11:52 AM
Is this normal? Letting go of everything post divorceIt's the discarding of sympathetic magic associated with material possessions. Odd how stuff we (the X and I) collected together had very little emotional sympathetic magic connected to it. She killed the love I had for her...yeah it was a hard lick and welcomed being is how it all went down. I've kept all the pictures which are for my son, that said those photos are viewed as another chapter in life that was closed quickly. Moving to somewhere new or back to an old familiar haunt is a good step… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 11:15 AM
Ex wife going on big trip with new manRight here is your issue> "I’m just over here waiting for something good to happen for me and my kids." Get off your laurels and get disciplined...sitting around waiting on good things to occur is keeping you in the rut you are in. Yeah so what! She's on with her life shows you more of why ya need to be grateful she's someone else's headache. My X prioritizes her life according to her desires. I could be a real dick being is I have sole custody of our son. Better to simply do the best be the bes… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/07/25 02:40 PM
More Difficult - Divorce or Death? Both?I've lost track of the people I've known and been acquainted with that chose a permanent solution for temporary problems/challenges. Of those one really was devastating. A girl I'd known really well so I thought until I got the phone call from mutual friend who flat out told me she had killed herself. Her sister showed me the suicide note. Ya think ya know someone and then they reveal their darkness within. 3 lives we all have 1 our public life. 2 our private life we share with those in our inne… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/07/25 01:17 PM
Do you ever regret it?Nope, not at all. She traded her family for her own selfish desires. So long, bye-bye, Sayanora. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/07/25 08:53 AM

Anyone here who has been divorced for 3+ years, haven’t been in a serious or even casual relationship since, and still feel miserable?14 years over in 2022. Dated within a few weeks of the separation. I divorced her was awarded sole custody of our son by the court. My happiest time is the end of the day lay down in my Kingsize bed once shared with her. I'm good being alone. I came into this world alone, been alone most of my life, I'll leave it alone. End of the short-lived whirlwind romance was more devastating than the end of the marriage. Given what I learned about that girl I'm better off w/o her. Anyways I'm good. Yeah th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/03/25 09:52 PM
Kids at age 14 can "decide who they live with." How does this work?My son was 13 and chose to stay with me I was awarded sole custody of him by the court. My attorney said the filing was roll the dice see how it goes. My X-wife proved herself to be an idiot she completely agreed with the no contest divorce. I say idiot she had someone who is an immigrant from Southeast Asia read the divorce papers and interpret the content... he told her everything was good it was 50/50 custody lmao. Supposing something were to happen to me she and I were still together and som… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/24 09:35 AM
