If a 17 year old was married to a 30 year old man who earned a good living, had access to good medical care, had a relatively stress free existence then she'd have healthy offspring. You also have what you call reproductive value. A 16 year old girl has more RV than a 29 year old woman because she has more childbearing years left. If you're a man and you want to maximize the potential to best past on your genes, you'd get the 16 year old girl. If you get the 29 year old you likely would only get 3 or so children out of her, maybe 4 if you're lucky.
