Over invest without some type of commitment. Dating isn’t easy, regardless of your season of life.

That makes sense, like another commenter mentioned you don’t seem overly interested in him at this point. This probably isn’t the one. No one wants to over invest whether it’s money, energy, attention or time. Is there anything that interests you in him aside from conversation?

Who benefits from a couple that’s both miserable but have no options but to stay together? The state?

Being friends they often expect this, your generosity…which is reserved for a relationship. If you give that generosity (money, time and attention) relationship benefits are expected. Friendship benefits are not worth you money energy attention and especially your TIME

From your take, prostitutes are cheaper. In all seriousness, it’s a negotiation. If she or he can’t accept the terms...maybe it’s not meant to be. Everyone’s situation is different. Most people don’t have the $ you’re taking about above, and sometimes women just choose to stay home. My point was, from the moment we are husband and wife, everything moving forward is earned together. Is she or he, entitled to what she/he made/earned/inherited prior to the marriage taking effect? No. If it’s allowe…

Yup, prioritize...you’ll have your and he will have his.

Everything about marriage is a negotiation...every single bit of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/18 05:28 PM
1

Yup. This is what I hoped someone would raise. Protections can be a place for both i.e. you make it to 10 years you get 40% you make it to 15 years you get 50%. That’s the transactional piece to a prenup. She expects him to go out and earn for the family and he expects her to care and nurture the family... it’s reasonable if both sides accept the situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/18 05:26 PM

He can’t feel betrayed here...he doesn’t stand to lose anything. If your allowing him to control you, by you obeying him...that might be a deeper issue. So, you’re saying you’ll never do something in your best interest and ask for forgiveness later with him? He will, I promise. I’m not trying to be a dick, just being honest. Neither of you are now, what you will be in 20 years. Plan for the unexpected...if it never occurs, it’ll forever be an afterthought. Best of luck, sincerely.

At the end of the day, the state doesn’t care of the marriage is successful. They make $ either way...

For many generations, marriage was taught to be something we should do. I think it was somewhat diluted when states began allowing same-sex, etc marriages. This obviously was 1. In-part to social pressure and 2. Revenue gains for the state.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/18 04:15 PM
1

Yup, goes both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/18 04:05 PM

You know you can’t have the same attorneys right? That or tell him you’re planning to set an appointment and he should do the same, it’s a small loose end to tie up. You have your interests and he has his. This is the transactional portion of the “marriage” arrangement. Once your past this, you can get back to loving, then this will all be an afterthought.

Not all women cheat...just as...not all men cheat. Cheating can look like a lot of different things... Women will give us sex (trade for commitment or the promise of) until they realize they’re not getting what they want or are tired of pursuing. We both have needs. When they match up...it’s wonderful for both.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/18 03:57 PM

I understand where your coming from. It’s a pride and trust issue. There’s inherent risk in everything we do in life...there are plenty of betas out there that will say yes to everything you ask for. Happiness comes in all shapes and sizes.

Just have that serious conversation with him. He’ll know your serious when you tell him your attorney is and you’d like to finalize it. Marriage will become more real than ever for him.

So you think men hold sex hostage?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/18 03:36 PM

Absolutely, we all have different needs. If my GF was financially stable and I’m just someone she wants to be with...she’s gotta decide if I’m worth it or not. We live in a VERY litigious society.

How? Love isn’t enough. Marriages itself outside of religion it’s about a contract a business-transaction... holding both accountable. You don’t have to be married to love someone or to care for them. There are many reasons people get married, one is often benefits something as simple as health insurance... typically do the state laws. Again, many reasons.

When I was married our incomes were combined in the same account everything was combine bills paid everything, now in the current relationship I’m in it’s almost as if it’s a back-and-forth, you take care of this I’ll take care of that, I have dinner tonight you get it tomorrow, that’s just not something I’m used to.

Thirsty and wanting a commitment are two different things. You either have a lot to offer and they want to pin you down, or they’re just too lazy to continue going out and looking for anyone else. If you’re hot yourself, they’re wanting you to commit but they don’t necessarily want to, trust me. Flip that script and see how it goes.

No one ever goes into marriage anticipating an end. No one in their right mind anyway. I think it’s because there’s always something to protect unless you’re 20 and have absolutely nothing.

I understand that...I was married 18 years and have 2 teens, I'll be an empty-nester soon and just want to enjoy whoevers across from me. The girl (40/f) I'm seeing now has made it clear she wants a baby and to get married (would be her 2nd). 1. I've had kids and don't wanna go back to the baby years and 2. Wouldn't even consider it, until mine are both gone (3-4 years from now). So, yea I understand where you're coming from.

I think we (men) too often get lazy and comfortable. Most of us don't need much more than food, sleep and some sex...outside of that, if we don't get nagged...we're content for the most part.

This yes, but typically one has more than the other. People often look at prenups as withholding from someone you care about. I agree with your statement.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/18 03:04 PM

Being a dad to a teenage daughter I can relate. Intimacy means alot of things to alot of people. In a stable relationship, it can be fun to share a moment tho with someone you care about. In 100 years, none of this will matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/18 03:03 PM

True. We all have one or the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/18 02:52 PM

Feeling like I'm right there...tho she tries to dangle that carrot and withholds from time to time. There are those out there that won't withhold.

Some of these notes provide a great way to get out of a relationship you're not into. Yes, sometimes we get into relationships we later realize just aren't what we want. Thanks.

You have to put yourself out there. Eat healthy, hit the gym and care for yourself first...you’ll be fine.

There’s ALOT of unhappy married women out there...they’re usually the ones messing around the most. They stay for the comfort of the situation.

Rule #1 - be attractive Rule #2 - don’t be unattractive I didn’t find out about the power shift until I was 40...post-divorce.

That is VERY true. But we're not as trigger happy as we were younger for fear of missing that one. Dating is tiring, telling your story over and over...to get to the good part. Figuring out if it's worth a continued investment or not.

Exactly. We have $ and know what we DON'T want. The fun is figuring out what we DO want.

It absolutely is. Sadly for men, unless you're the alpha-10, that's not how it works. Men chase ass when we're young. We're dumb in our teens and 20's...we do eventually grow up.

Your question doesn't make sense. My statement is an observation post-divorce (18 years). I was young and dumb at 21...

Typically 30+ career established women looking to start a family with career established men. Many men and women at this age are on the backside of raising teenage children and are very financially stable.

The market is actually larger than you realize. You're not "building" the same type of life in your 40's and beyond that you are in your 20's+. At this age, men just want someone they can enjoy sitting across from. Some men like to support, some women like being supported and vice-versa. My situation dictates "pull your own weight". It reduces the pool, but they are of much higher quality when you find them.

"The question is what is the long term plan of redpill is it to fuck and spin plates till you die?" I think in some ways...it's in the mind, a place to sow your wild oats. Figure out what you like and don't like. "eventually go mgtow?" Maybe "Get married?" If it escalates. "And if you do what kind of woman does it have to be?" We all have different tastes. Sometimes you know it when you SEE it.

No worries. Like you said, the feeling of a relationship without a label. You have the label feeling, asking him if it will escalate is the only way to put out there. There is no "supposed to" initiate the question. As for the RP...it's a guide, not everyone follows it to a "T". He may not be waiting for anything other than the next booty call. Back to the question, you won't know if you don't ask. He's comfy...he's not gonna ask. If he says no, there never was a window.

A FWB from a mans perspective is often that...with no intent beyond x minutes of passion. Not thinking about what we're doing the next day. From his perspective it he's truly looking at it as a FWB, he's not initiating a LTR. I wouldn't, but when she brings it up and he kills it, that's the hint. Both entered into it with the understanding. One catches feelings...it's time to find another FWB. Remember how/why you both entered into the arrangement. Honestly, if you ask him...and he shoots you do…

You'll laugh...when we met we were in the same place both married, both had spouses that cheated and seemed that we had "the connection"...we or maybe I still believe that. We are a drive apart, a couple states away and have seen each other 5 times over the past 2.5 years but have talked almost everyday in some compacity. We have one mutual friend that we're both close to and have confided in that has made the point to her over and over to do something about it and to me that I NEED to move on (…
