Gay isn't a choice but evolution doesn't self sabotage. The genes aren't making the person gay in order to gain a competitive disadvantage that would make no sense. It's true there's probably a biological cause for homosexuality but it seems like it would have to be epigenetic and there's some evidence for that. Not everything is a direct result of evolution for example by wearing a condom you aren't saying "MY GENES ARE GROSS"

I don't believe in the dual strategy. I think it's based on antiquated evolutionary psychology. But if it did exist how exactly are you applying it? Do you wait for your wife to ovulate and pull out these traits and spend the rest of the month working nights and rubbing her feet while you watch Will and Grace together? We can debate the extent to which that's true and I don't dispute that the notion of marriage has declined but its still very powerful. The degree to which women are labeled sluts is still quite powerful. If you're right then an accurate view of human nature is even more important.

What I find odd is the obsession with the alpha beta dichotomy and the obsession with machoness.
