This is a great post. 90% of the people I know who have 'anxiety' and other crap smoke weed, drink a ton, drink coffee daily, don't run/lift, spend money on shit, etc. Get your savings account up. Cut poison out of life and see what happens. Remember being 7 years old? No crazy stress? No drugs coursing through your system, fucking with your brain chemistry? No financial worry? Prancing through the sunshine? You can get there again.

Yes! Part of what led to me to write this post was my 5 year journey from debt to abundance. One day I woke up and said fuck this. I'm done drinking 4 times a week. I'm done eating out because I'm lazy. I'm done buying a new winter coat every winter. I want to peace of mind more than I want all of these things. And that was the first thing I turned out to be 100% right about in a long time.

Nah, not lies. Of course you should not let the pursuit of money consume you... take away from other pleasures in life related to friendships, relationships, or other forms of self-betterment. But again, without financial security, there is nothing. The sun does not shine as brightly and the tits do not taste as good. It is the gateway to peace of mind. The things that do bring happiness cannot fall into place without financial security.

I agree. I'm trying to be the bigger person here but it's not easy. I still love him and appreciate everything immensely. But at the same time, it's entirely shitty to put your children in that kind of position. If this was a one-off incident it'd be forgettable. Hm. Fair enough. But I read and do other things at home on my free time. Reddit on a weekend sounds like torture to me. While I'm here, Reddit is just a time waster. It is short-term satisfaction to get through a monotonous day and make it a little less monotonous. I'm enjoying myself while I build my bankroll. I'm not going to bury my nose in a novel at work. I work, talk, play chess online, and browse reddit. I don't see anything wrong with it.
