I was lucky enough to have purchased this "starter" home 15 years ago before I was married so she wasn't legally allowed any part of it in the divorce. Always had the intent to upgrade to a bigger home and fortunately never had the balls or money to do it while I was married

$410 for court filing and 10% down payment on a condo (30k). Basically the deal was I pay for literally every one of our 2 daughters expenses. She just has to text me a pic of the receipt. I phrased it, all you have to do is take care of yourself and your place - that seemed to sell her on not ruining us both financially and destroying any kind of relationship we might have as coparents My ex ain't worth being married to but she can be reasoned with. I initially used it here in FL. I think it was like $150. It was very simple to use. A little too simple and it kinda made me uneasy with how little paperwork there was. I started getting nervous about it so I just went down to the courthouse and paid the $400 it cost to get official documents and I'm not saying this is universal in every county, but there was a looooooot of forms missing in the 123StepDivorce packet. Not in the beginning no, not at all. Took about a year and a half before I was sick of being married to a 40 year old woman who didn't want to fuck me anymore. Sometimes it takes a while to clear the cobwebs and see reality for what it is

Married 10 years. Kids 10 and 7. Were both 40. Ya were both living in the same house right now. Shes been paying mortgage on her condo since march - she obv doesnt want to leave our home or live separately but since shes no longer interested in sex I'm forcing the issue. Ya but alimony can also be renegotiated upwards too, right? If you start making more money? Idk, I guess you're taking lifetime alimony in better stride than i would be. I just cant imagine 15 years from now and in a new relationship and still paying an ex spouse you haven't spoken to in years.

My divorce went pretty easy compared to a lot of you, and I'm just curious about things like this. So when you were on unemployment and your ex knew this and knew you couldn't pay, what was that conversation with her like? What did she say to you? My ex and I dont particularly like each other but shes still pretty reasonable. That's psychotic behavior to demand money you know that person doesnt make anymore.
