I'm not saying it does not help if you know MMA or you are muscular, I am merely saying that you are overrating it. And even MMA fighters don't want to get into a streetfight. There are no rules in a street fight, and stabbing, poking the eye, or kicking the balls, or using a rod is pretty common. Most people will simply avoid a fight unless stakes are very high. In that situation, as long as you hold your ground without retreating or even fighting, you will not lose respect. Once again, I am ta…

She didn't dump him because he showed weakness. She dumped him because he was always a nice guy and that image of him losing a fight like that was the straw that broke the camel's back, especially when she had won on the same day. She had a high opinion of herself (whether right or wrong) and she had a low opinion of her boyfriend (whether right or wrong). Women don't like men who they think are below them, who they think are losers. This is why she left him. She thought she was better than him.…

Only works in societies with strong central government that punishes violence with massive jailtime. MMA or lifting is not going to help anyone in most societies, because you can beat up some guy and next day he comes back with his homies armed to the teeth and fucks you and your family up. In most societies, having powerful, armed allies count more than muscles or melee skills.

The father or the brother of the woman would kill a male that tried to rape their daughter/sister. Or the tribe (pack) would abandon that male to fend off for himself and he would have most likely died off as a result.

Nowhere do I reference 1 - 3 rep range. Also, proper strength volume is not built with 3s. 1-3 reps are what is used to actually ''train strength'', especially since you are talking about powerfliting which is all about 1 rep max. Everyone, regardless of sport/hobby, will get hurt at some point. you can't avoid it. Proper biomechanics and analysis of the lifts then applying the model to your antrhopometry is key to mitigate unnecessary injury. Firstly, are we talking about ''lifting as a sport''…

I am not assuming what you said, I am simply offering a counter view point. 'Getting in shape' is 70% about diet and 30% about lifting. And that 30% lifting should be for aesthetics. You obviously get stronger with progressive overload, but the primary purpose of ''getting in shape'' is to gain muscle in the right areas and lose fat, the 'right areas' and 'lose fat' part being key. My quads blew up when I switched to high rep high volume leg press, my traps blew up when I started doing shrugs (n…

Training for aesthetics is better than training for strength. Body builders are also extremely strong, and actually look good rather than look fat like a lot of people who are ''strength training'', because these people are mentally too weak to actually diet properly. Doing 1-3 reps over a long period of time also fucks up your joints, good luck with old age arthritis. All these strength coaches on Youtube have severely injured themselves at some point in time, and I am talking slipped discs, fu…

'Volume' by its very definition is 3 dimensional. i.e. sets x reps x weight https://www.jtsstrength.com/understanding-volume/ Tonnage is simple slang word used by powerlifters for volume.

It may have something to do with the hormones in modern diet that is bringing about menstruation earlier and earlier while the body has not yet matured. (https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/the-stone-age-mind/201202/why-are-girls-getting-their-periods-so-young) In most of history, the first period made a girl into a woman.

A lot of people who are in a post secondary institution have no business being there, they are simply there in the hopes of getting a good job later on, rather than actually learning. They are better off some where else. However if you have a high IQ, why the fuck would you want to go in trades? Do something worthwhile that satisfies and promotes your intellectual curiosity, and 'trades' is not going to do that.

I did not bother away explaining away the result because you already agreed with my assertion: that majority of 18 year old girls are not lining up to date with 50 year old men. This is not a common occurence. You only contest that the minority that does is large enough for your purposes, and while I would even argue against that, I would let that go since there is no hard data, just personal anecdotes. What I will say is this: when I was 22 and broke and hadn't completed my university or held a…

I poked holes in the conclusion made out from a study that did not even suggest something like the title. If anyone has any counter criticism to my explanation on the title, please present that. Otherwise please do not present anecdotes and experience while discussing science. Read the actual study. The whole method of determining ''desirability'' seems faulty.
/r/TheRedPill19/08/18 04:29 AM
2

That is exactly my point. It's hard to be so accomplished at 25 or 30 but if you are, you are much much more valuable than any 50 year old. Infact 25 to 30 year old guys can pull younger women without even being accomplished so what does that really tell us about true AF type sexual attraction which is linked to youth, male strength and virility?
/r/TheRedPill19/08/18 04:15 AM
2

You are taking it all personally, whereas I did not mean it as such. I criticized the methodology of the study and explained away their results. It's not a slight against 50 year old men, or you personally. Sure I lack experience of a 50 year old but I think even you know that majority of the 18-22 year old women are not into 50 year old men which is why you split women in three groups. Coming onto simply physical traits, men and women value a few things objectively and then the rest is subjecti…

Confidence, dominance and accomplishment on a 30 year old guy is much more sexier than a 50 year old guy. Women are also into physical traits as much as men. Testosterone declines after 30, and a muscular physique, low body fat, full head of hair and a symmetrical face with a defined jawline are more a factor in mating than simply accomplishment or a bank account. The study you quoted has a methodology flaw, where it assigns ''desirability rank'' based on the the number of messages received from…

That's a result of their profession and logistics. Proximity to many women will get you laid even if you are a naive beta, because it's a numbers game. I bet you however that 30 year old bar tenders and rockstars would get more pussy than 50 year old bartenders and rockstars. I made a very valid criticism of the methodology of the study after reading it. What criticism would you have of that?
/r/TheRedPill19/08/18 12:34 AM

You should read the link and the study in question, the conclusion is based on a desirability rank that is calculated as a function of how many messages received and from whom (i.e. whether those senders were desirable themselves or not)... so whomever 18 year old girls are sending messages to, climbs higher on this study's desirability rank. Add to that the fact that this study is only looking at 4 college towns NYC, Chicago, Boston and Seattle, you can deduce the reason as to why 18 year olds …

50 year old men are not attractive based on looks, probably based on status and money (BB). Look at all the female porn fantasies, it's a young billionaire or a young looking vampire, not a 50 year old billionaire or a 50 year old looking vampire. Youth + Status is still more attractive. I call bullshit on the conclusion.

I like performance cars over luxury. Although I ave friends who prefer luxury over performance, it's a matter of taste. You can lament the fact about performance cars about how the ride is stiff or the range low or how there are less modern luxury features and write a list of cons. The same with luxury cars. This circumcision debate is a massive waste of valuable time because most circumcised guys don't have a problem at all with it.

Good post but you missed an important lesson: Think 5 moves ahead and always have an answer ready for every reply You will win every social interaction if you already have an answer prepared for whatever the other person is going to say, and then another answer to their reply to your reply. Thinking like this maybe hard at first but the more you do it, the more instinctual it will get and you will also realize how predictable most interactions are.

One thing I disagree with is that women try to control (and fail) alphas more than they would try to control betas. To them, controlling and taming an alpha male is the ultimate validation for them (and if they are successful, they lose that initial attraction towards him)

Actually, nothing of the sort. Any radical change overnight in the economy is going to cause a recession, but that has no affect on the long term. Domestic unpaid labor is not included in GDP stats yet it is the SAME THING. I agree with you about today's world, and I think that's because most men have lost their physicality so the strong buff ones stand out. Regardless, both strength and intelligence should be cultivated and it starts at a young age. Too bad most parents today are useless at parenting.
/r/TheRedPill18/05/18 04:25 PM
2

It's a bit more nuanced than that, you don't need to be the biggest or the baddest to be the leader, you simply need enough physicality and enough intelligence to become alpha. Just being the biggest or the strongest is useless if you cannot cultivate alliances within the tribe, and it requires a certain level of intelligence to do that. 5 other humans can gang up and beat the biggest alpha to death if he cannot use his brain to know that he cannot rule alone
/r/TheRedPill18/05/18 03:57 PM

Exactly, there are lot of factors at play here than just size.. I don't like it when a lot of people is simply say size is everything, it's not. If a guy in the ancient world was intelligent, he could predict the movement of the stars, the seasons, the prey, and invent a new religion. People listened to intelligent men (and quite literally made them their leader) if they possessed attributes that put them in a unique position from which others would derive benefit.
/r/TheRedPill17/05/18 08:31 PM

While muscles and strength are important, intelligence is very high up there that increases attractiveness. A skinny cave-nerd could invent a trap or find innovative ways to hunt or defend would prove very useful to the tribe thereby increasing his status amongst other men (and logically attractiveness to females). He may never become the top dog but he would prove very useful to the top dog and may even get the alphas side bitches to procreate. This at least is very evident from the fact that h…

Usually, killing a member of the tribe is not how ancient humans resolved disputes, nor do chimps, because for most of history, all members of a tribe are related with blood and had to contribute to fight of enemies (most human tribes were less than 50 people). Dude who is arguing against compound movements? Nobody. But what you are saying is that compound movements are enough for forearms especially when you are saying only isometics are fine, which may be true for a minority of people but a lot of people have to isolate the forearms and work it out fully. Again something is wrong with your comprehension skills.

I deadlift 425lbs which is pretty respectable at 175lbs 6'0. You know what Arnold was known for? Bodybuilding You know what this post is about? Bodybuilding I don't understand why people have issue with bodybuilding, it seems like a new fad to promote powerlifting or strongman even when you have no intention of competing. And once again, isometric contraction is just one piece of the puzzle out of 3. If you get gains with just one piece, good for you. But not everybody does (including me) so we …

Not according to Arnold or most other body builders, but whatever works for you. It doesn't work for me. I just added that because a lot of people peddle minimalist style of training these days - it's a fad. I bought that, tried it and it didn't work for me, and I am sure it won't work for many others so telling them to train more properly.

Both deadlifts and farmer's walk hits the forearms isometrically. Concentric and eccentric work is also extremely important. This is the same argument that if someone can do a chinup with 200lbs handing off the waist his biceps are going to be huge. Sure they will be, but they could be even better if targeted in isolation in addition.
/r/TheRedPill12/05/18 06:44 AM

You cannot wrack up volume on the forearms if your plan is to dead lift a few reps for 200kgs. Volume is extremely important for hypertrophy. My forearms exploded after I added reverse curls and close neutral grip rows.. and I used to only deadlift for teh forearms before that.

It has everything to do with weightloss. I subscribed previously to the calories in calories out method and IIFYM but it resulted in subpar results where I was feeling starved all the time and had less energy on a cut. Change over to eating clean, eat your veggies, shun processed foods, keep track of micro nutrients and understand how the body best absorbs them, understand nutrient partitioning and insulin sensitivity, and you will have a much easier time not only cutting but staying cut.

hat would imply that anything under 10% No that is an extrapolation only you made. Nothing in that study suggests less than 12% is less attractive, infact the study is arguing against higher fat % as attractive. If you want real world examples: Most male models are lower than 12% bodyfat. Most Hollywood actors shaping up for a role are also lower than 12%. You are simply hamstering your 20% bodyfat now.
/r/TheRedPill12/04/18 04:24 PM
2

You don't believe in evolutionary psychology then if you don't think that a lean face is more sexually attractive than a non-lean face. Anything over 10% bodyfat is actually unnatural with pre-modern diet and activity levels. And the whole point of losing fat is that you don't need gimmicks like a nice haircut or groomed facial hair to create an illusion, low bodyfat is sexy even if you are shabby.
/r/TheRedPill12/04/18 05:28 AM
2

I think you don't understand how BIG the difference it makes in your facial aesthetics when you are 8-10% as opposed to 20%. Visible, sharp and defined jawbone, and slightly hollow cheeks increase SMV even if you are under a parka half the year. The facial expressions are also more pronounced as the muscles in the face are not hiding behind a thick layer of fat.
/r/TheRedPill12/04/18 01:28 AM
1

You have good point about aesthetics over raw strength, as I feel too many people especially on reddit are shipping strength training over anything else, and many people who follow that kind of advice end up getting fat. The general emphasis on the squat is all well and good but squatting is suboptimal if you are chasing after aesthetics. The deadlift and the squat are too draining for a person and racking up volume is much harder after a deadlift session. Both of these should be done once a wee…

You didn't read what I said, I never denied that there are hormonal difference between men and women, infact I was not even referring to that.. I denied that there are any statistically significant hormonal difference when you take a group of men in one geographical area and then compare that to another group of men in another geographical area. So the biology is not the cause of differing culture.
/r/TheRedPill08/03/18 05:26 PM

True if you are talking about males and females as separate groups, but the biological (read hormonal) differences between men and men or women and women are of no statistical significance. As far as I know, he was saying that men and women are different because of biology, not cultural patriarchy as many feminists say. Otherwise culture is more influenced by geography than biology. Also, feminism has arisen out of western culture and is part of western culture, people can deny it all they want but it started here in the west and not somehwere else so it's a product of the west. Women can only be ''controlled'' through social dread by society, never by an individual. Women are more social creatures and need social proof to do anything, so they can only be controlled by society at large that punishes bad behavior by ostracizing the offending individuals. You did not understand what is being said. The alpha has priority mating rights over females in many mammals, and sole mating rights in some other mammals, such as wolves.. And some species don't even have alphas or betas, such as lions. This is what is referred to as ''locking down''. And you also overestimate the value of size. Size matters little if some ''beta'' can blow the alpha's brains out from 100 ft. If that's the case, whose the beta? Humans have sailed past the size boat a long time …

You are trying to portray that armed vs unarmed is a level playing field, it's really not. Not even close. the example you gave is one out of literally millions. No matter what size, a person will think twice before doing anything if a gun is pointed at him which is the biggest deterrent in of itself. And even if the stereotypical muscle man in this example does not love his life, well he still needs to get past all that ammo and the odds of that happening are extremely low. Muscles are only use…

Err. The British did not use free market capitalism (where both parties mutually benefit in trade) to extract wealth. It was wholesale plunder of resources using industrial methods. Indian farmers were FORCED to grow crops that were not suitable for the land they were being grown on, and those crops were extracted by the British to be sold elsewhere. More famines in India have been recorded during British rule then either before or after due to this very reason, killing millions. Not only that, …

The whole concept of India as ''one nation'' is a pretty modern concept, and 'Hinduism' as a religion did not even exist before the British. You are assuming a 50-50% male to female ratio where this was never the case. There were always more females than males in the society at any given time due to constant warfare and higher male mortality. Infact so much so that Muhammad encouraged men to marry widows so that these widows are not left destitute. And marriage was also pretty different, polygamy was common, older men marrying younger women, younger men marrying older widows, everyone was a relative of everyone else in some fashion.

Alphas tend to own harems which is what I said in my first post. They also own the women in those harems. The fight between males is over who gets to mate with the females. You don't get to see gorilla dragging female gorillas because the other male gorilla that owns that pack would naturally challenge him. The dragging takes place after the fight. Two problems, you assume easier access to sex when the 20/80 rule means that would only be for the top 20% category. I didn't deny that altruism is less of a factor if you are looking for ST as compared to LT. That's where the truth you are talking about is. However what is clear from figure 1 is that being altruistic is in no way a hindrance whether its ST or LT. Infact you are more desirable if you are altruistic for an ST than if you are not.
