The best way to save money is don't spend it, only buy gas, food, and pay bills. I also drive older vehicles and fix them myself, I know not everyone has this ability but if you do it saves a ton of money. I have co workers who have $1,000 a month in vehicle payment, add insurance and it's costing them over $12,000 a year just to drive, I buy vehicles for a couple thousand and run them for years with only small repairs.
