Thanks for posting this man great post. OP can you remember how long it took you to change your diet? And anything that helped you do it? My diet is good but could be better. I let myself down when I'm at work and I'll impulse buy a can of soda or grab a coffee / chocolate bar and then after it's gone think to myself why the fuck did I do that.

Yeah you're right I don't believe in myself and that's cause I never take action just always talking. I even said in my post I know what I should be doing. I'm gonna go do it right now.

I've yet to see the reaction on some girls face when she asks me to buy her a drink and I come back with a nice ice cold pint of water. It's coming soon don't worry. Unless she looks one of those types that's really special then it might not be worth the trouble.

Find a project to work on over the summer. It can be something related to your job or school. Or just something totally unrelated you find interesting. If you enjoy video games why not try creating your own?

Nothing wrong with taking small steps especially when it comes to working out. Going from 0 workouts a week to 3 and only feeling good from the first workout while the other 2 just burn you out is no good. With lifting as mentioned already you gotta be consistent. That's including your diet also. Just start with one workout a week go hard on the weights and feel good about it. See if it's too much and if it is then figure out why. If you're fine then add another workout next week.

Gonna be honest with you OP just work hard for yourself. You will have a hard time finding a boss who respects a hard worker. Now share a hobby with that same boss and invite him to a social event outside work and it's a totally different story. Not like your colleagues are ever gonna be thrilled to see the guy that makes them look worse at their job either. See your purpose in life is just what you make it. People who just had a job jump out at them and it clicked first time aren't that common …

Just laugh at them OP no need to get mad. I'm glad you posted this though reminded me no one really has your best interests at heart. Dunno why I always forget that.

Yeah just work on trying to get over it. I see you mentioned in your post they are still cunts I'm guessing you and I would see very different on what the meaning of "having to associate" is. Imagine your health is in a bad way and you can't lift or work on improving your SMV. Do you have the time of day for these shitters anymore? Good that's how it is from now on. Just remove them from your life as much as you can and focus on what you have already. You already worked hard to improve your SMV …

"That's not what you said at all." I said you sounded mad holy shit. "My initial response was towards an article talking about excessive video game use and you come in with "moderation is key." Well no shit sherlock." If the answer was so easy all along then why did you waste so much time playing cod and why did it leave such a bad taste in your mouth? You took a knock to the head today bro?

Yeah I could sense from your post you were bitter about video games. You even understand that excessive use is when they become a problem. I've been down the same path also but like I said once you put them in their place and see them as a choice or as you put it "downtime" they lose their edge over you.

"advocating video games?" They aren't drugs mate calm down. "you still have a lot of learning to do." So do you. Happiness is a choice you know?

"Do you know how competitive people are on video games? It's directly correlated to how meaningless their REAL life is." Sounds like you're just mad you got trolled or you aren't as good at video games as you thought. Also if someone's life had so much meaning then surely a few video games wouldn't hurt?

Dunno if this is just me but when I stopped fighting against video games and porn they drastically lost their control over me. If you're forever alone and in good health (exercise 3 times a week, reasonable diet etc) it's hardly a crime to struggle to not whack it for a week or so. You can find yourself stuck in a try-fail loop for a long time and trust me it will really fuck you up. I'm only just starting to recover. See these activities for exactly what they are, choices. You will make them so…

Find it hard to disagree with you on every point except i see my phone as a journal too. Sometimes i'm at work and think of something that is important enough to make a note of. Doesn't have to be the same as what you'd write in a journal entry but just in note form to remind yourself the most important thing and transfer it over to your journal later. Of course a smart phone isn't needed for this but as mentioned already you're denying yourself a useful resource because you aren't willing to wo…

Great post and definitely applies to life in general and not just the gym. It's like if you're rich not many people want to hear about how you got to where you are, they want to hear about what cool things you've done with your life and places you've visited etc. I think also that the average people who see the guy trying really hard to be successful want them to fail because it makes them uncomfortable knowing they don't have what it takes to put that work into improving their life or something…

I could go into way too much detail here but if you're playing video games you really have to ask yourself why you are doing it. To be honest i can't think of any good reasons but having wasted more time than i'd like on them in the past i'm kind of bias. It's like i can see the argument of everyone needing some downtime where they aren't being productive so if you were gonna spend that hour watching TV or fucking around on reddit you allow yourself to waste it playing a video game instead. I ju…
