I mean, my wife and I totally banged on our first date and every time we saw each other for the first... year or so? Still going strong 11 years in. I don't think your beliefs affect anyone else's any more than they affect yours. If you wanna wait, wait, but just as many people that wait find they aren't compatible sexually or grow apart in other ways as people who don't wait.

I think polarity is good in a few, maybe less important areas of the relationship. Like if 1 person is adventurous and spontaneous, the other is reserved and plans ahead. You can make that work, but if one person is a 2A ultraconservative who loves football, MMA, and BBQ and the other is a pro-choice liberal vegan who teaches yoga and writes feminist poetry, you may have trouble agreeing on how to raise your kids.

I think it makes most sense to split it equally based on income. My wife and I always took certain bills and they usually came out even. Like I pay rent, internet, electric, she'd pay insurance, groceries, etc.

Do I personally care? No, not necessarily. It would be outright hypocritical for me too. I could see someone being jealous if their partners looking at porn completely different from what they expect from them, but if that's the case and they can't accept it then they shouldn't be with that person, right? I think a lot of men are insecure around sex, whether that's performance or size or whatever and take it out on their partners. Whether it's porn or prior relationships or friendships I think a…

I remember in a law class learning about men being held responsible for children when they were being used as a sperm donor by lesbian partners. It may not be "fair", but it's how it is. The problem I see is the burden of proof, unless you record every communication, it's just not going to hold up. Your best bet is to wrap that shit up, get on that male birth control when it's ready, or get a vasectomy..

This, so much of this. Another experiment, go to a gay bar. Don't worry, you won't suddenly turn gay I promise. But you'll be probably approached by multiple men all night. You'll get some free drinks and hopefully an ego boost, but man it does not stop.

How many posts like this are going to be out before we just leave these dudes to wallow in their own misery? It seems there's a lot of men out there who are doing just fine getting dates. Great looking men, average men, alpha bros, beta dudes. The question isn't what other ways are there, but what are you doing that isn't working. When you approach women what do you say? What's your body language, when do you do it, where do you do it? If asking out a mutual friend, do you guys have chemistry at…

I don't care about your concerns. There's something wrong if the first thing you think is it will become the same as a 4chan board full of resentful, hateful rhetoric. Not everyone is out to get you. If anything, I'd worry about Men (probably some eternally single edgelord 19 yo) pretending to be women to gain access and either post misleading and derogatory information or selectively leak posts and people to make the groups look bad a la "libs of tiktok".

Completely different situations. It's only libel if it's false and damaging. If that is what they do, then that's bad. But to jump directly to that vs the idea that women are wanting to have some comfort that they're not dating a serial cheater, abuser, or married guy, sounds to me like: A) these guys are insecure, they have something to worry about and don't want it out there or, B) are likely to engage in the negative actions they're critical of. Kind of like when people who constantly cheat (…

No. There isn't a positive way to call someone abusive, and that's okay. I think your problem is you don't know what's being said and feel attacked or threatened by it. No need if you're a decent man.

I read the article and didn't get that at all. From the sound of it the mods try to keep it pretty positive. I could see why if someone had bad experience as they would look into a group like this. I just think you and other guys that are negative about it are putting their insecurities onto it.

I think most men don't care, it's largely dependent on lifestyle and economic needs. Child care is so damn high and pay so shitty that it might make sense for a lot of people. It seems like a very small percentage want it for some sort of traditional reason, maybe overly religious types?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/23 02:05 AM

I think that LP is under something. Even under the guys of religion, It's really because most men get jealous and hung up over the idea that their partner has had prior sexual experiences. We worry if they were better, bigger, more pleasurable. Did they do freakier stuff? Somebody would get insane about it. Women do too of course, but I don't think it's at the same level. Who knows, maybe it's instinctual or deeply cultural but it's certainly true from what I've seen. I think it largely has to d…

Don't go all victim on this. It's pretty common that women are held to a different standard. A man can have that preference, but I think OP is very accurate in why. Even if under the cover of "religion". It's largely an ego thing, and mostly because of their insecurity. I've seen men get insanely jealous about their partner's prior experiences. Worrying if they were bigger, lasted longer, more enjoyable, more adventurous. Some guys (and women) are really hung up on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/23 01:52 AM

It's not necessarily bad, but it's obviously a patriarchal standard. Women didn't have many, if any, rights prior to modern time, mostly 20th century. Still don't in many countries.

Most women I know look out for each other pretty well, even strangers. There's going to be bad actors in any group. Sounds like you had some bad experiences but I don't think that's representative of most people.

I was more referring to sites like 4chan, telegram groups, is anyone up. I've seen some pretty misogynistic shit in Facebook groups, I can't imagine it's not out there. Even if it's not "porn". Actually I searched ex-girlfriend and found many public groups. And there countless "are we dating the same girl" groups for nearly every municipal area. Imagine.

Or she could just be afraid of dating some abusive asshole or a guy who's cheating on his wife or something. And just curious, at what point is a woman "putting up LeBron numbers". Games played? Points scored? So if a girl has been with one guy 1000 times does that count?

Well I can only speak from personal experience and those around me. Let me clear it up for you. It seems like OP and a lot of the commenters here see it very black and white. It's either showing no emotion or showing full emotion and opening up completely without boundaries. It's probably because we feel we can't be vulnerable with our male friends. Another commenter hit it on the head when they said men can't see nuance. I think it's absolutely true a lot of the commenters and posters on this sub have a complete lack of understanding nuance. There's a difference between telling your partner about what's going on and opening up to them and dumping all of your insecurities on them, especially early in a relationship. If your idea of being vulnerable is dumping a life's worth of trauma on your second date, you're probably not going to have a …

Body Positivity isn't about making you think overweight women are sexy. It's about society (mainly women themselves) accepting that they can be. Positive Self image is key to a person's health, men and women. If you don't like it no one is forcing you. And the "hot felon" trope? Sure, nothing is absolute, but MOST women will run away from men like that so fast. Thing is, people like that learn how to manipulate and take advantage of people.

I didn't say Danny DeVito is a sex symbol, although I'm sure he slayed when he was younger. Women seem to be more willing to let stereotypically unattractive traits slide than men are. In other words, a woman is more likely to find a bald or overweight guy attractive, but less likely for men to find an overweight woman attractive. I would say the opposite when it comes to personality traits, a guy will date a hot but dumb or abusive chick, whereas a woman would rather have an ugly nice guy than …

Indeed, male subjects (super)liked 61.9% of the female evaluated profiles, while female subjects (super)liked only 4.5% of the male evaluated profiles. These findings are in line with previous research on online dating in general (Fiore et al., 2010, January, Todd et al., 2007) and on Tinder in particular (Tyson, Perta, Haddadi & Seto, 2016). Indeed, Tyson et al. (2016), p. 1) argue that this is due to a feedback loop: ‘men are driven to be less selective in the hope of attaining a match, whilst…

I dunno, I have known women attracted to all sorts of men. I can't imagine ALL women have the same "type". if someone is extremely attractive, they're going to get attention, duh, that's life. It's no different for men or women. But I think women are more likely to let certain physical traits slide (weight, bald, height) than men are.

It's funny because the "as long as they're hot" comment is more in line with what they're saying. You would date a hot girl if she's "lonely, emotionally starved" but probably not an average girl with a great sense of humor and future. These less attractive men would do fine with less attractive women. That's the way it's always been. That doesn't have mean someone who is repulsive. But if you're a 5 and only going after Betty's or whatever, you're going to be disappointed.

Yes, men can absolutely be interested in sex without a relationship. Don't give any of the "you better be rich or hot" comments much thought. Sure, that would help, but it's not a deal breaker. Do this: Put yourself around women. Not In a creepy stalker way, but if you're going to catch fish, you need to be near water. Focus on what women like about you specifically. If you're average looking but a good dresser, dress nice. If you're funny, make them laugh. Be patient and accept rejection. If yo…

It's almost like the manosphere guys' ideas are illogical. I think a lot of men like the idea of a "traditional" relationship. Whether due to nostalgia or religion or whatever self-help ideology du jour it is, the idea sounds nice to them. But in reality, even this patriarchal style relationship takes a lot of work. I think a lot of men might realize this too late. And the red pill sense, the woman now has all the power because she can leave and find someone else, but the man is probably going t…

I'm going to say you're imagining it. Or more so you're seeing what you're looking for. Men put themselves out there constantly, women are inundated with men coming on to them everywhere. At work, school, online, wherever. There's always been a fear of rejection, shy guys, unconfident guys. I think modern society is leaving a certain type of man behind, hyper-competitiveness squeezes them out.

I've seen some really, really unattractive men in relationships, getting married, having kids. It's absolutely true they are probably with someone of equal attractiveness, that's just life. Aside from being horribly disfigured or having some defect, it's pretty unlikely that no one would be attracted to them. In my experience, it really becomes based on personality or attitude in that case.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 01:33 AM

Yeah, I don't think is remotely accurate. Men absolutely make assumptions about a woman's personality based on appearances. You did in the following sentence "unless she's wearing something obviously revealing". What is"obviously revealing"? Showing some ankle? Spaghetti straps and a bare midriff? We all do it, men and women. Mostly unconsciously. When people. Right. Even if a woman was looking for that type of traditional 1950s leave it to beaver imaginary relationship, if a guy couldn't take care of himself in the most basic ways I'd expect her to look for more. This is where the saying "the bar is literally the floor" comes from.

I think you're confused. No one outside of super-fundamental religious zealots think this way. In most of the US and western world, a family requires 2 incomes or 1 very good one. It's not about a man deciding to make more money, that takes a lot of hard work, time, and luck. There are plenty of incentives for someone to make more money. It's called money and all the cool shit it buys.

Cooking, laundry, and cleaning are not feminine. If anything, expecting someone else to do it for you is very immasculine. Also, making money isn't masculine. What you're describing is maturity. If any of my friends, or male family members honestly believed this I would lose all respect for them. If anything, being able to take care of yourself, not just financially but physically (domestically?) is respectable and what I would expect a man to do before he was mature enough to be in a real relat…

I think the "reactor" is the person who gets to decide, no? I mean, aside from someone being completely out of touch, the person who feels like they're being creeped on gets the say. Until we're looking for some sort of legal definition at least. Saying otherwise is like saying someone who is suffering abuse is "overreacting", or sexually harassed (the "I barely even touched you" defense). You may not "intend" to be creepy, but most creeps don't.

I feel like it's a similar answer to "what is porn" or "what is obscene". It's hard to quantify, but you know I know it when I see it. So there's probably a gray area depending on the creepee.

Then prove it incorrect. It seems as though the view is women are either only interested in rich, profoundly good looking men and therefore rejecting 90% of the population or they are used up, unworthy single mothers depending on government cheese and settling for a man that'll raise their kids. How are people not free to have sex because they're being rejected? They're still free to decide. I'm totally against choice as well. I like my sex life and relationships to be forced as much as possible. I think we should do this with everything, houses, cars, jobs. I will always support heart failure at 45. I love when people jump to "obesity is a health crisis" like they are worried about someone's health and not to justify judging or putting someone down. Let her doctor worry about her health, you're just trying to be an asshole. But to quote the great Sir Mix-a-Lot "even white boys got to shout". I still have to disagree with almost everything you've said. This idea that women are intuitive but also should be punished for their bad mate selection is completely contradictory. It still takes two people to reproduce. Just because women carry the burden of pregnancy and childbirth doesn't mean the father doesn't hold the same responsibility in the pregnancy and to the child. That's such a disingenuous comment. What a woman does with your own body is all for her. You don't have to like it, but you shouldn't be an asshole at it. On the other hand a lot of the red pill comments and ideology is really sexist and negative towards women. If it was just helping men be more confident there would be fine. Relevance: People's tax dollars were paying the salaries of these officers. Police actions are police actions, they're paid for by your tax dollars. But you've just said who gets to decide what is degenerate, and then said the country doesn't have free reign to pile on judgement. Who are you to decide who is free reign gets free reign to say what? This is circular logic. I'm doing the same as you. Who am I to decide? I don't get to decide. The difference? Would a father be embarrassed, sure, but that's not free reign for the country to pile on judgement and I'd hope he'd be there to defend her too. The fact they were at work is up to their bosses. It really depends. Pregnancy and birth are extremely stressful on a woman's body. We all change as we age, it gets harder to lose weight, and some people have other health issues. Then, keeping up with kids and family, housework and or career, etc etc. If you marry a woman and aren't giving 100% to help with all of this, I don't think you get to nitpick about putting on some weight, especially if you aren't in equal shape as well.

The fact that this is a story at all is ridiculous. These were consenting adults, who are any of us to judge, especially more severe judgement on her. The men involved are just as much to blame, if not more since some.were married. The only people who should have any opinion are the people directly involved. If she is your partner, if one of the guys were your husband, then you can be upset. Otherwise, we've all been there (or wish we could be). Anyone here can spend 5 minutes on this site and s…

I'd love to see where that comes from. In my experience, women are way hornier mid 30s+. Ready to settle down, sure, but horny. And by saying "experiencing adulthood", I don't mean having sex. How is 24 not young for women? I could see someone thinking this if they are 12, at 24 you're finally experiencing adulthood and have an idea of what you want for yourself. I think I grew the most emotionally between 24 and 30, if not later. I don't think it has anything to do with sex education, knowing how your body works or the consequences of sex (ie pregnancy, STIs) isn't going to change that. I'm not interested in debating statistics around abortion. I'm just curious, in regards to OP's statement and becoming above, where those lines are drawn and why and what so-called pro-lifers expectations are when these complicated cases arise. We've already heard numerous horror stories in the last year no matter what happens there's going to be undesirable outcomes.

Question then, taking these rare exceptions into account, when is it "okay" for a woman to get an abortion (rape, life of mother, birth defects, etc)? And what should be done to ensure they are able to access it only when necessary? And what is the policy to help the women and children in a post Roe time to ensure support through and post pregnancy? Most pregnancy support centers seem to be underfunded/resources and stop support neonataly. Considering most conservative Americans (and redpillers)…

LMAO, you have never talked to a pro-life person either. Statistics may say late term are more prevalent than by rape, but (without seeing source) we can't infer anything except the numbers. And it sounds like a gay sex preference (respect to LGBT+, just saying). Edit: the whole redpill vocabulary is really misogynistic and degrading to both men and women. You guys should get together somewhere now that Tate is in prison and rethink that part. That's probably part of the reason no one takes you seriousl…

This is all anecdotal but: I've known a lot of both and it's like 50/50. Some of the craziest nights I've had were with conservative Christian girls. Affairs. Divorces. Kids, lots of kids. But some are in life long relationships, good families and all. I think I know 3 or 4 couples that were very conservative, married young and are still together. 1 of them are a gay couple. I'd say the nonreligious/liberal people were more likely to have good relationships for longer, but took their time to get…

As individuals, men often depend on women for emotional support, sex, help in the house, rising children, etc. Women depend on the collective of men for infrastructure, protection, most welfare, and safe environment from natural disasters. First, wtf? This is preposterous. We depend on each other pretty equally for this. Wo do depend on women for childbirth, but raising children is a pretty equal job (or should be), especially when women are 47% of the workforce. So what men tend to contribute t…

Yeah, because SNL has NEVER done a skit poking fun at women, black culture, Jewish culture, liberals, conservatives, overweight, gay, etc etc etc. The key is not WHAT the topic is, but HOW you do it. I thought this was hilarious.

It sounds a lot like the defense given in marital rape cases. That men have needs and a wife has given de facto consent. And I think it's related but "gay panic" has been used in assault and murder cases when a man finds out his date is Trans or was hit on by a gay man.

The thing is, most people don't get this. Unless they are exceptional or in the public eye, the best you'll get is a "hi handsome" from a sweet old lady. This is where the whole "internal motivation/self-love" stuff comes in. When I was young and fit the only people I ever got that sort of positive support was guy friends talking about my muscles or whatever. You will most certainly not get it from a woman because a lot of men will immediately assume that's an invitation for them to hit on or ev…

You at least you have the capacity for more nuanced reflection and more abstract thought than OP. My point is 90% of this value discussion is based on the idea is that women's value is entirely based upon their beauty and willingness to carry children. If economic theory, it turns women to depreciating commodities. Or worse yet a negative externality, while men get to enjoy being the rational consumer, devoid of any fault for their actions. The argument isn't that attraction doesn't exist, but t…

Okay. Argument: this type of thinking is bad because it's shallow, misogynistic, and self-loathing. It creates unobtainable standards for young men. They will either a) strive for these goals and never get there or b) not and resent anyone they perceive as "higher-value" for having a fulfilling relationship. These men focus so much on looks and money, completely ignoring their own personal strengths and shortcomings. Strengths that are probably very attractive to some one. And shortcomings that …

This reeks of immaturity and dichotomous thinking. Anytime I see "high-value/low value" I cringe for the young generation. Relationships are not an economic theory. Men's "worth" is more than their bank account and jawline. Women's "worth" is not vaginocentric. Until you move past these weird middle-ages based, sabermetric style caste systems for relationships, you're always going to view yourself as the low value man constantly comparing yourself to other men and blaming women for being miserab…

I was referencing the man in this situation. In my experience, insecure guys who have been hard up for a relationship for a long time end up being really controlling and jealous. I'm sure it's the same for women though. Constantly worried if they're good enough or if their partner is going to leave them so they do everything they can to stop that from happening.

This is exactly why so many of the guys on this sub get so worked up about women only going for hot guys or guys with money. Whether he could get someone hotter isn't the point. If you're that interested in other people and think so little of your partner you really should just move on and let them do the same.

That's absolutely cheating. I think a lot of people, myself included, we feel more betrayed by this than meaningless sex. What you are describing is openly looking for a new relationship while holding on to the old one and leading your partner on that there's nothing wrong. You can't help meeting new people out in the world and be attracted to them, but you have to have respect for your partner and yourself to either not pursue someone else or end it with your partner.

Work on yourself doesn't necessarily just mean take a shower and go for a jog. It means work on your self-esteem, work on your worldview. Talk to a therapist or a life coach or something maybe. No, building model ships in a bottle isn't going to replace the need for a relationship. But a miserable person outside of a relationship is probably going to be a miserable person in a relationship. Sure, but attractiveness is such a spectrum, and there is so much you can do to be more attractive. And it doesn't have to be all cosmetic surgery and steroids. A LOT of being attractive is how you present yourself. Ask any woman and confidence is attractive. Look at Pete Davidson. Dude is not attractive in the traditional sense... Look at his history. I really hate the terms alpha and beta, I think most so-called alphas are just making excuse to be an asshole, the rest of them are covering up insecurities. I think people confuse that with confidence, but women are approached by men constantly, especially on social media and stuff. And most women, or just people in general can spot authenticity and real confidence a mile away. Yes, men are 100% responsible for their actions, even if they use protection. I understand the biological urge, it's really hard to say no in that situation, but no one is forcing them to have sex 99.99% of the time. We all know condoms and birth control are not 100% effective (I mean, it's never failed me and I've put a lot of faith in them over my lifetime). Doesn't require to be good looking to have confidence. It's really sad that society puts so much emphasis on our looks, but tell me what have you done to change it? Fairpoint, I think it's because these guys that claim they are in cells are generally lacking any sort of real personal responsibility. They have an entire vocabulary of how they describe other people in usually very negative ways. I haven't seen any sort of self-reflection, and there is a lot of hate. Using this logic man do get a say, we choose whether to have sex or not. We choose who to have sex with, whether or not to wear a condom. Or is it the lack of control over someone else's body the problem? You can only control yourself in your own body, so get a vasectomy or practice your pull-out game. Ding ding ding ding. These aren't "women" behaviors, they're toxic behaviors I've seen men do just as much if not more. Also, to add, of course you should stand by your partner (or friend, family, etc) when someone badmouths them, but tell them. Just shutting down doesn't fix anything. Unless its egregious, tell them what they did that hurt you and why. Everyone has their nonnegotiables, but if your partner doesn't know that, they can't fix it.

Why shouldn't men be held to that same standard? So if a man gets someone pregnant and doesn't hold himself responsible for his choices it's the woman's fault somehow? Why not make good decisions? Sounds like someone doesn't want to be held responsible for their actions, then comes with the nice guy act "lots of guys would gladly marry them but they don't want them". Take responsibility for yourself first.

You do realize child support is paid by the father (absent parent), only forced by the govt via wage garnishment if they don't pay. Are you suggesting that if a woman gets pregnant the father shouldn't be held responsible? Only the mother? And if she can't or won't for whatever reason, the kids should what? Start working in the mines? We went through this, it was the pre-1900s and it doesn't work out well for society.

You're saying that the high rates of poverty, high crime, high emigration, etc is because there are too many single mothers? I think you're blaming the effect on the cause. I would venture a guess that it has more to do with lack of jobs and poverty, low economic stability and the influence of drug/gang gang violence thanks to 60 years of a failing drug war. I think society has handed us a lot to where we don't have to work hard at anything. Like actually put in effort. In reality, there's so much more to attracting women than being hot. I think that's mostly going to be due to their environment. You meet people in your social circle, and are going to be attracted to people with similar interests. And I said that's because they have options now and aren't reliant on men to provide for them. Things that weren't nearly as realistic a couple generations ago. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons, they do less drug test on women due to possible impacts on a baby if they were to be pregnant. But there's always been medical biases that women are tougher to pain or hysterical, more emotional. No, but men love sex. And if a man has money and wants sex he's going to have it. I would say a lot of the men you're talking about also really loved the power. There's a certain amount of power and prestige being able to use money to have sex with beautiful women. And if someone's buying then someone is going to be selling. I think it's more the fact that women don't have to be in a relationship with a man to make it. 50 or 60 years ago a woman couldn't even get a bank account, men dominated almost every high paying profession (still doing a lot of them), and society shunt women who didn't get married and have babies at the young age. Now there's little stopping them from fulfilling their personal needs without a man. I've known women who were single and had a lot of sex, and women who are single and don't. And wom…

Women aren't staying in relationships because they don't have to. Why should anyone, man or woman, stay in a relationship that isn't fulfilling. Just 60 years ago they couldn't even have a bank account without a man's cosigning, now they control they're own destiny.
