Awesome! My dad was a molecular biologist. It's really important stuff. Sometimes you gotta try a few things and see what sticks I guess.

No shame in that. I hope you've found something you like.

If you know you're bad you don't tend to stay bad. Most people work at it when they know they're bad and they grind until they're the fucking best. At least the ones who don't give up and won't settle for being mediocre do. It's people who think they're good when actually they're awful or mediocre who are really dangerous, and can't improve until they realize it.

I got over a girl a few months ago but it was a hellish experience. I was depressed, veering towards self destruction, struggling to pull myself together. All the while I was blaming myself, blaming her, blaming the world. I couldn't accept any of it. But one day as I was driving home from doing some errand - it was a terrifically gray day, just how I was feeling - I suddenly "got" it. I had spent so much time and energy trying to be a good boyfrend, asking her to let me into her pants. When I n…

Hi Soupertramp. I'm just getting into a relationship at the moment and Souperlady's comment on the timing of the first kiss really surprised me. How fast or how slow do you think a healthy relationship progresses? What are some metrics or emotions to tell how fast to go? The usual response on seddit is kino until you're in bed with her but I'm not convinced that's the way to start a healthy relationship. Oh and to clarify on my situation a bit, I've known the girl I'm hanging out with for ~3 mon…

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted to seddit. I usually feel uncomfortable trying to be alpha but it's fascinating to see scientific experiments on this. Particularly how the brain can be rewired to take on a dominant mentality, or fake it until you become it. I hope this helps someone on their way.

Hey thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm going to school at UCLA. Do you wanna run sets together some time? I can't say I'm a pro but I've been inspired by you to go out and approach. I've got a motorbike so I can meet you anywhere in West LA. Let me know if you'd like to do that. Oh and how do you think the party girl would've responded if you said "Why? Do you get hit on a lot?"

In terms of trying to make a bar scene your own how would you approach the setting.. First thing to do in a bar? Jump right in or find a perch and analyze the people there.

So how do you jump right in and talk about something she's interested in, when you're meeting her for the first time? Introverted dating seems to be a cruel joke where you're trying to find the middle of the venn diagram of things you're both interested in. Show not tell is indeed good advice though.

All speech is free speech and denying any idea from being expressed no matter how foul or disagreeable it is is the start of a slippery slope. From a German native I heard that there's a huge guilt complex about the holocaust and that's just unfortunate it gets in the way of freedom.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
