You bros would do well in Phoenix. Hipsterish? Try Seattle.

Sure, I agree it can be beneficial, I just think platonic and non-platonic relationships are different enough that you aren't going to see some leap in romantic opportunities just by rooming with a woman. (or vice versa) The most important thing, which is harped on constantly in this sub, is confidence in yourself and being a generally positive person.

Of course not. And I'm sure plenty have had some different experiences. However, in the convos I've had with other guys, most have had experiences more similar to mine. Should a guy turn down living with a girl? Definitely not, but I don't think they should expect to gain much from it in the way of non-platonic relationships. I also think it shouldn't be used as a way to learn how to live with a gf/wife. I've lived with gfs and I've lived with girls that aren't my gf. It's a completely different…

Well, and sometimes the hot friend thing can backfire, as I've come to find out; your (female) roommates often tell their friends your dirty habits. Haha!

I've lived with women for 3 years now and just wanted to say that it's not all the useful unless you have no experience with women at all. I've had exactly zero gain from it other than I have to clean a lot less because they do it waayyyyy more than me. You also have to deal with their douchey bf's and their insecurity over their gf living with a dude.

I like how all the sources are his own website. Way to be scientific, guy.

Makes sense. However, I'm 31 and my social circle has dwindled considerably. Almost everyone I used to hangout with is now married (or in a serious relationship), has kids, or moved away. Unfortunately because of this it's incredibly difficult to arrange those kind of situations these days; it's a lot of solo riding.

Quite a bit. However, to be fair, it hasn't happened in over 2 years. I dress a lot better now and got my BF% to around 10%,so I get more attention than I was receiving at that time. Maybe things would be different now.

This doesn't vibe with my experience at all. Girls seem to pay less attention to me when I'm with a group of girls.

Indeed. It seems there are plenty on seduction that understand this point, so that bodes well for future PUA's. This shouldn't be about getting laid (the sex will become empty eventually, if not immediately), but about who you really are and having confidence in it. The only way to know yourself is through introspection. Some of the advice I've read on here regarding believing in yourself has been pretty good, but overall I think it needs some major tweaking if the goal here is to help our broth…

Overly simplified social relationships for the lose. I keep trying to explain to a friend that is obsessed with PUA that he is eventually going to create problems, but in a much different way. PUA addresses many of the confidence issues that those drawn to it have, but not in an overly healthy manner. I think it is far more important to look within, know yourself, come to understand your flaws and overcome them through personal transformation, rather than downing a few beers, sucking in your gut…

Good read, and what he explains is exactly the issues I have with some of the PUA ideas and methods.

Sorry, but this is an insecurity as well because it is disingenuous. It is still living in fear and you are giving up one crutch for another. The writer gives some pretty good advice for nice guys.

As other have said, just keep at it. Practice. Be yourself. You are definitely going to screw up, but you always do when first learning anything. Just remember that if things don't go as planned.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
