Well said. And it seems OP is being incredibly close-minded. Your wife was part of your success. Would you have been as successful without her? Would Jeff Bezos have been as successful without his wife? What OP seems to be ignoring is that marriage is both a personal and legal partnership. If you didn’t want to be bound by the default rules of state marriage law, you could have contracted around many of those rules through a prenuptial agreement. You didn’t.
