F.I.D.O. Stands for: Fuck It, Drive On. If your convoy comes under attack or gets ambushed, you keep driving through No Matter What. Never stop in the kill zone, no matter what’s happening. You gotta keep moving forward. Get through this, heal, and keep moving on with life. As said here before, this too shall pass. But, you could spend a lot of time stuck in misery if you let yourself.

It’s normal and ok to have feelings thoughts. It’s not ok to act on them or make plans to. I went to counseling and talked over a lot of stuff; it helped. I did a lot of meditation too and took a class on it. Mindfulness stuff in particular. That was the biggest help. It took some effort though. It does get better. Trust me and the other men in here. This shit doesn’t last forever.

It just opens door for me to get my head fucked with. Maybe one day it’ll change but for now I need some separation. She is super nice and friendly then when I let my guard down, bam!, the smart ass comments and hurtful remarks start. She can’t help but take shots at me. I’m playing defense by engaging as little as possible. Business talk about the kids only. She also filed for the divorce and sent me the paperwork the day after my birthday. I had to ask her not to do it on my birthday. So yeah,…

I’d suggest moving on. I wished mine would have stayed but honestly it would have never worked after she decided she was done. We tried counseling; she was just looking for the therapist to give her permission to leave. If we didn’t get divorced now, I would have wasted years with her and been in a worse position when she did leave. Or, (we had a 10yr age gap) she would’ve just treated me like shit when I was older and more vulnerable.

Wait on the second kid. I love my kids, both of them, with all my heart. But I wasn’t ready, I got forced into it, and it blew things up. We were not in the right place to have a second baby but she demanded it. We weren’t in a good spot and it just pushed everything over the edge.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
