To me it sounds like she felt you were acting entitled to her number.

I didn't say I have high standards; I just said I have standards. I also don't rely on my circle because that's dried up and I have to date outside my circles now because I moved. Edit: I should also add I'm abstinent, so we're not playing the same game.

I am aware.

I think you're misunderstanding me. It's not a matter of practice. I just have standards. I also have my own host of disadvantages preventing me from being an all-around attractive male. It doesn't matter how hard someone trains, some girls just aren't going to be into someone for all kinds of reasons. I can't exactly fault myself for that. But yes, I do agree one should practice regardless of excuses.

Nope. This isn't true either. I talk to females all the time. A solid portion of my friends are women. I love the ladies. However, initiative is difficult to make with extenuating circumstances or that maybe I have particular deal breakers in mind.

So, a unicorn. Got it.

Did you even read the article?

It's just a good story. It's not like he's talking about the parallels of Linux and anime over here. The bro turned it around. Good on him.

Good listener here. The downside of good listening is not knowing what is trivial and what is important. I have a good pretty ridiculous memory, so everything is important and I'm super serious about everything. YAY

This is how to initiate pursuing a woman, not making her your girlfriend. That's a different thing altogether.

It may be difficult, but those who feel they have a void try and fill it however they can. It doesn't change the fact depression is a real problem that can be handled irresponsibly.

Which is dependent on the person actually liking your style of delivery, even if it is an enthusiastic one. Exciting people in a group takes reading the crowd. Excitement is not without knowing how to connect, and I think that isn't touched on well enough (it is covered only moderately with vagueness).

I'm honestly just reminded she probably has her own baggage just like you do. She looks great, but she wants to be known and understood for what people don't see. When I see the person - the human undergoing the same cultural awfuls of the 21st century - I just stop placing so much importance on her looks. She will fail you, and you will fail her, guaranteed.

This. With that many dates in such a short amount of time, dating men she's probably not even attracted to, leaves her in the objective stance and less in a forgiving stance. She of course had to grade men on what they did because that was her goal. She was looking for potential red flags and creating rather intuitive thoughts about them because she needed things to fluff her article so it might appear in places like these. I agree with having a plan and being confident. My goal is ask things th…

Possibly that, coupled with them thinking that she probably thinks all them are out of her league as well. It's a bit difficult to real qualify all of this because I can't speak for every person at the bar, but I think you get the gist.

Did you think maybe they would have the balls if they felt they had anything to offer? If they all are losers, it's not like hooking up with some obviously gorgeous woman fixes that. And if she's there for a one-night stand, what does it matter how successful the guy is? It's just a hookup and gorgeous girls exist everywhere.

Yea for sure. I mean, you and the girl to your left seem to have quite a bit of history in the first place and more of a developed relationship, so you are probably more comfortable with her for social reciprocation. I'm guessing based on the information in this video.

Notice how he keeps looking at the girl on the right. HMMMMMMMMMM Edit: it's a joke. Don't barrage me, kthx

Quality post, but one thing I've noticed is that not all women respond very well to qualification, especially if they're already self-conscious/low self-esteem or very non-competitive. It ends up backfiring or not translating very well. Eventually you might end up actually judging her instead of keeping things flirty. I'm not say it's entirely wrong to do so, I'm just saying it's worth being cognizant of the fact that qualification is something to be used sparingly depending on the individual.

Toally get you. I thought this at first, but empathy goes both ways. We both don't have all day, either, so it's helpful in that sense and it shows I'm listening. If someone were to however feel offended constantly, I would definitely do my best to respect that. To be frank, I feel it has more to do with a deeper reservation in pride rather than creating an avenue of communication between 2 people, but I'm not going to be a jerk about it.

I do. Sometimes I'll help him complete sentences if I know where he's going with it. It allows him to carry omg with his thoughts and for me to make sure I'm listening well.

Everyone is different. It is easier for some and harder for others. Being short isn't as much of a deal breaker as much as it is just being attractive. I'm a short, skinny, hairy, Hispanic man living in Bible belt north Texas. You can imagine dating is almost non-existent for me, but I also don't pursue girls too often; I look for the nerdy ones. The problem sets in mostly for me where I think a girl will feel weird even thinking about dating me -- not that I have low self-esteem about my height…
