God I love this. Thanks for taking the time. Yessss.

Yeah. The writing is so so but the book is full of references to art and literature to expand on the history of radical women.

Ha I think I just assumed all men would trigger me - that’s been the track record thus far.

Wow this is yessss. I’m actually a behaviorist by trade so this definitely resonates with me. And helps to point to history and attempts at communication. Have been reading this book - Witches, Sluts and Feminists - and shows the history of women going against the patriarchy and all the ways it’s been shut down. Feels good to have more and more of us women joining together and supporting each other. I do wonder what it’d be like to be a mother to a young son - lots of power in hopefully raising …

I hear that. I guess it’s just hard for me to not know of a path forward to change this. I think FDS sees the way forward as behavioral, cause and effect - like if we create this deficit then they’ll change. But in the meantime, their presence/existence really creeps me out and makes my anxiety go to a place like Handmaids Tale.

God. So scary. What do they think will happen? Women will, all of a sudden, be like “hell yes, I love being treated like garbage”? But that’s TRP - they posit that women only respond when treated poorly and when treated well, we are not attracted to them. I don’t think this has been my experience but maybe I’ve been missing something in regards to who I’m attracted to. Edit - spelling 🤦‍♀️

Didn’t even think about that. Simp has gotten so over used that I can see it encouraging more hardened men who feel courage/strength through validating “natural male aggression” and tying that to pseudoscience.

Thanks. Wow. Didn’t think of it this way. How sad.

There’s a few comments like this with not enough up-votes. As a woman, nothing more intoxicating than natural male scent. Especially if he showers daily.

Came here to say this. Dudes smell best if they shower daily. Their natural scent can’t be beat.

Didn’t realize r/seduction was maybe RP leaning. Got raked over the coals for asking if men judge women with high number counts and why. Made me so anxious to be getting out of a 13yr relationship, into the dating world, and thinking men would judge me for casual sex. Edit - r/purplepill

God. Well said. I was trying to think what “weather” comments do for me. They buy me time to get out of a state of threat and into a state of safety to assess. Ding ding ding. Thank you.

I’ve taken ownership of house emotional abuse towards me in the past due to his mental health issues. It’s hard to find the line when someone’s suffering. I recently left after 13yrs. But I still wonder if I should’ve been more empathetic. I’m recovering but it’s only been a month.

I was one of those women. Codependent. Didn’t want his reputation to get tarnished. Wanted people to see the best sides of him. It’s so hard to know what love is after years of that dynamic.

That was my struggle. I AM a therapist. So I constantly felt like not enough because I couldn’t figure out how to help him. I’m done with that. I don’t want that roll.

Yeah I can imagine even 3-5yrs in you were thinking “I don’t wanna be like my folks,” but struggling with the old nonsense of “love heals all.” Good for you for choosing to be done - no time like the present. That energy, constant “no’s”, is so toxic to the body.

This sounds familiar. I find that when men struggle with mental health, it’s hard to decide what’s okay or not, behavior-wise, in the relationship. Was your dude struggling with depression/anxiety? If so, what helped you feel okay with moving on? I’ve struggled with this for 3 years (together 13). Just decided to leave a couple months ago. Feeling guilty for not sticking by him longer when I know he’s struggling, but he became so unkind and dismissive, rejection constantly.

I appreciate you being willing to put yourself and your opinion/experience out there. Especially on this thred. My god. I’m blown away by the amount of dismissive, ignorant comments. Sounds like a lot of subconscious laziness from dudes not wanting to do the hard work - “how do I get laid the fastest while refusing to listen to women?” then they’re surprised that they’re left wondering why they aren’t getting laid. Wow. Can’t make this stuff up.

I used to always respond, “no I’m okay, thanks.” Was so terrified of rejection, or feeling like it was laborious and that they didn’t really want to. Really hope I don’t do this moving forward. Wonder how y’all have gotten over this issue for yourselves (if it was an issue).

Yesss. You know, I’ve gotten downvoted and harshly ridiculed for following and suggesting this group for women in other dating groups that are struggling with LVM. So much ridicule, I’ve worried that I missed something here; however, I started using Reddit a month+ ago to help me through my divorce and this has given me such a helpful reset and made me feel so empowered, so sure I’m not making a mistake. Thanks for existing and what perfect timing I found y’all

This is so sad. This much frustration and hate has to feel so heavy to bare. If it helps, I’m a woman currently hurting very badly from a relationship where I loved a man despite myself for 13yrs. It’s ending and I feel like I’ve lost my best friend and he is showing no reaction - it’s devastating.

“It is a popular myth that chemical imbalances in the brain are solely responsible for causing mental health conditions. Although chemical imbalances in the brain seem to have an association with mood disorders and mental health conditions, researchers have not proven that chemical imbalances are the initial cause of these conditions.” https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326475#myths

Thanks for sharing. I’m guessing it is difficult for you to show support in a wing-man-esque way simply due to your looks. Also the cliche aloof/distant style of connecting is a magnet for 10s as they are used to having men pursue them, so having one be more aloof is enticing. All this to say, though I might get crap for it, I see and understand what it is like to try to show off a friend who is incredible only to be the one looked at. Has led me to not attend some parties/group functions assumi…

What if you’re a woman that enjoys sex but isn’t interested in commitment at the moment? Do men look negatively on her having casual sex up until she is in a place to settle down?

Mirroring the other person’s intensity of eye contact is pro-social. Too much eye contact when they aren’t doing it is read as intimidating and puts the other person on defense. Too little when they’re doing more than you and it’s read as anxious and low self-esteem. Mirror the other person in all social signaling and you’ll be golden (I.e. crossing legs, leaning in or leaning back, smiling, etc)

Totally down for teaching since it’s all individual preference. I don’t expect him to know me but I expect him to want to know. If he’s curious and eager to learn, nothing hotter. Of course our fear as ladies is hurting feelings and having the reaction from him be sighs of annoyance, pouting, basically making us feel bad for instructing or wanting something different. It’s why we’d rather fake it TBH, too many instances of explosions and hurt ego in a vulnerable space 😔

I’m letting the men here in on the conversations women have amongst themselves. It always eventually goes to “well is he good at going down on you?” Because unfortunately that quality is rare - us females get super excited and pumped up when one of our girlfriends exclaims, “oh my god yes he’s incredible.” It goes beyond the “sexy act.” It tends to be a sign of compassion, humility, not being selfish - personality characteristics. Trust me, it’s not my issue specifically but a frequently talked …

Completely agree. Be assertive and independent, while also being open-minded and thoughtful of others. To me, the skill most men need to develop more strongly is an awareness of others - care about how y’all are impacting the people around you and adjust accordingly. Women are constantly tasked (trained from an early age) with making people comfortable, especially if an unaware dude in the room is creating the discomfort. It’s not about that dude “changing who he is,” but about him deciding to n…

It’s always a gamble as to which dudes are good at it - definitely no external signs. If they say they’re super excited about it, love doing it, haven’t stopped thinking about it, that confidence is certainly going to get them somewhere. If it turns out he’s no good at going down on me, then that’s that I suppose. And no, no going back on ending things because he says he’ll do it more. Its not about more. It’s about quality. It’s like it’s either in your DNA to be a giver, to want to see a woman…

I love the “focus on self-improvement.” I’d add that female 8/9/10s want a dude that shows he’s introspective, a good listener (asks follow-up questions about her interests, validates her concerns), and last but arguably most important is he is both enthusiastic and very good at going down on her. Heterosexual women cum the least, statistically (from private/blind reporting). If you assume you are good at this because women have cum for you in the past, that’s not a good metric because faking - …
