You’re not brain dead if you’re just blackout drunk right? So by your logic it should be perfectly fine to have sex with a completely wasted 17 year old.

I agree entirely that the draft should be abolished. It’s inhumane and authoritarian, and I think most feminists are entirely right in advocating for doing away with the draft. However it’s ridiculous that that stance only really comes up in feminist discussion when prompted by “men and women should face equal hardships if they’re going to enjoy equal privilege”. Basically the issue is that women, feminist women in particular, are largely unbothered by the issue of the draft until it’s suggested…

Second this, every time I’ve brought up the draft to my overly feminist friends their “equality in all spaces!” argument is immediately backpedalled to “well men should abolish that space, we don’t wanna be part of it!”

Yes Tell the 17 year old to wait until they turn 18 If the law saves 200 kids and makes 3 teenagers wait for sex then it's worth having

So in your head this means adult women should totally be allowed to fuck kids, right

Realistically unless it's a tiny parking lot it's unlikely a daycare has nearly the same amount of children as the parking lot has cars, usually a reasonably sized daycare with even multiple staff only has 10-20 kids because each worker needs to be responsible for a certain amount of children. Meanwhile since cars usually don't run off and get into trouble on their own a single parking lot attendant can handle hundreds of cars by themselves. but this is a difficult comparison because it's awfull…

SPLC is ridiculous sometimes, I read an article in one of their recent magazines that spent 3 or so pages drawing connections between pictures of Pepe and overt white supremacy This is what happens when society has it so good for such a long time that people start looking for hate crimes in everything

I think people would be more open to discussion if your essays weren't laced with "shut the fuck up, you stupid sexist piece of shit" That being said, your motive still looks like you're just trying to shift the argument from erasure of sexual assault against men by statistical fuckery to "but muh women". Nobody said they wanted to bring down women. The problem here is infographics like this unfairly shift attention away from male sexual assault victims. That's what we want to discuss.

I don't know whether this is depressing or rage inducing, really

That makes sense, but you'd think that he could argue he feared she would continue to throw punches at him if he didn't stand up and shut her down. I have no idea how such an argument would work in court though.

Post it to /r/JusticeServed if the victim got revenge? edit: not sure if that sub is specifically police-justice focused, actually, I would check before posting

Yeah I don't ever count on this sub being really PPD any more. But it's always nice to see swift and strong justice being dealt, regardless of whether she was using her gender as a shield.

Mostly the comments about actual ability. I'm more inclined to believe "spent the first week at the company learning how to work the copier" than "likes to make clocks"

Sure! Manufacturing seems close enough to general engineering and tech to be relevant as well, especially considering STEM is a really broad umbrella term. I'm working on homework currently so I may not be able to contribute but some statistics there would be really nice.

Asking you the same, because working in STEM positions in university workplaces is not the same as being an English teacher. This article may not be about working for Google or Boeing but it's still very relevant.

You know it's a double standard when "Yfw you check her phone and you're in there as "free food"" is a funny meme but this shit with the dining and dashing guy is a legal issue. Props to this guy honestly, even though it's still a dick move

Nice. Consider this to be a real-life situation for the sake of discussion? Or is a hypothetical an automatic forfeit?

Fair enough. How would you feel if you did that and happened to be a stereotypical white, straight, cis male, and you found out they skipped over you and hired a black woman who was just into her second year of college and could hardly use basic Windows features?

/r/PussyPassDenied03/04/17 01:06 AM

Yeah, that's one of the most concerning parts. A society that wants to forget about quality of work to create an advantage for some people is never going to be a productive society in our modern world.

I do agree with you there- that's a pretty good way of viewing it. There are some programs that effectively distribute power to the more overlooked groups of people, and I'm 100% in favor of letting them do their thing. The problem is that some of these incentive programs end up blocking "privileged" people from getting jobs instead of encouraging "oppressed" people to get those jobs, which is entirely counterproductive. Ideally, we won't have to push any group to the front to give the most qual…

How much clearer do you want me to be? I'm not trying to hide some scary alternate meaning in my comments. If you need me to be completely literal in everything I say, I can say it again that way. No matter how much you want to deny that ANY bias exists against white men in any way, the negative byproduct of the social movement to put more women and minorities in STEM fields is that overly liberal recruiters/employers will consider social class before merit and skill, which is fucked up and not …

Look, this entire comment is taking what I said out of context. Apologies if it's not clear, but I'm only saying that it's bullshit for there to be social initiatives to hire people based primarily on their race or gender. And I'm saying this because- shocker!- discrimination is bad. Whether white men or nonwhite women are oppressed or not, I don't know and I don't believe it's important either. I'm not claiming that white men are mistreated in the workplace by minorities, or that minorities opp…

Okay, if it makes you happy, fuck the image in the OP. It's unnecessarily racist and sexist. I'm not defending the actual neckbeards who agree with all of it, I'm defending those who agree the general concept is a PPD because it goes against women getting hired for being women. An appropriate one would be something like: Changing the Face of Coding Worker 1: Advanced programming and software development skills. Not hired or hired into a low level position because white and male. Worker 2: Beginn…

I'm not defending the blatant racism/sexism. I still think you can support the underlying message here without using stereotyping remarks against nonwhite nonmales. I do support the message this picture tries to make clear, that ability should definitely be considered over social identity.

You can be passed over for a STEM job and still get an easy job shoveling dirt or pushing buttons... low unemployment doesn't necessarily mean high rate of acceptance into tech jobs. Point being, I'm not exactly unhappy with the state of employment or job availability or anything but it seems just stupid to say "we need more women in tech just to prove that women can exist in tech" (as really happens in real life sometimes), especially when it translates to giving women and PoC an advantage for …
/r/PussyPassDenied02/04/17 10:31 PM

What if I graduate college, try to get a job in some tech field, and I'm completely passed over even though I have much more experience/knowledge than another contender just because they're PeeOhCee and female and I'm a white male? Not only is it a legitimate, big issue, it's something than can adversely and personally affect a LOT of people.
/r/PussyPassDenied02/04/17 09:35 PM

Yeah, I feel like the overzealous stereotyping isn't really necessary but some of the things said ring true. Point is, this isn't really PPD but it is leaning against pussypass/race card being used to get into tech/STEM fields, showing that race and gender mean nothing about actual skill.

TIL you have to be an alt-right neckbeard to think that women shouldn't be ~progressively shoved into STEM fields just because they're women

See, that's the point where I don't necessarily agree with everything he said. However, the point he brought up about treatment aside from transitioning for people with gender dysphoria was the first time I had really considered such a thought, and if the statistics he used are true I'd agree that treatment of the disorder would be a more viable alternative to trying to mold society into accepting widespread sex and gender changes. Not trying to say I know a lot about this whole topic, in fact I…
