I can't speak for anyone else's experiences, but my step father is the best man I know and I consider it an honor to call him dad. DO NOT DO IT. Maybe she is being genuine, in which case you gain what? a relationship with someone you divorced for a reason. Is that something worth the risk? If she is not genuine, the repercussions for the remainder of your life could be unbearable. Risk reward analysis would suggest it is not worth the risk. That is my useless opinion. I drove out to Arizona, laid down in the desert and spent 6 months getting stoned 24/7. After that, I went back to work. By the way. During the time all of this abuse supposedly happened. I was on crutches for 7 months and bed ridden for 6 weeks... I had blown out my Achilles Tendon. They repaired it, then it blew out a second time 2 months later and the second time they did a transplant. I suspect she left that little tidbit out. I know. If they will let me travel back and forth for trial dates I can do this. I have a job offer in Florida. It is an amazing jib that people work their entire careers for. Plenty of money to deal with this after I have been there six months. Problem is, all I have left is a drug test and a background check. Not worried about the drug test. I am however worried this warrent will show up and burn this bridge for good.

I do not know what she has accused me of. I found out about the warrant when I was pulled over here for an improper lane change. What can I say, I was guilty. I almost missed my exit. I am new here so... The trooper showed me the warrent. He told me the bond amount and said it was not a mandatory extradition. He said as long as I stay out of Texas I should be OK. They never asked me for my side. Guilty until proven innocent I guess. God only knows what she told them. She called CPS and they did an investigation and found no evidence of child abuse so they closed the file. The police however, were apparently more easily swayed. Hand to God, she told me I would kill them and hung up.

Yes. Even with the warrent, the judge in the divorce called it a hail Mary and went ahead and awarded me joint custody, with no supervision stipulations. After looking at the situation, he also awarded me 75% of any and all assets I could recover. They will hold me throughout the trial in jail since I can not post bail. I was told by a criminal defense attorney (who wanted a $10,000 retainer) that I can expect to sit there for about a year. If I am lucky, 9 months, or it could be a year and a half. No way to know.
