Whats hard is other people don't with their kids. It's a constant battle between myself and a locker room full of boys who have been raised in a different way.

As a mother of three boys, I worry about this constantly! we are always talking about consent, respect, boundaries, ect.

Yes yes yes yes yes!!!! I was made to feel crazy for 14 years because I wanted to live in a clean home. Made to feel it was my “problem” then. Made to feel like I was unrealistic and needy. NEVER FUCKING AGAIN

Damn, do men lie. They have SO MANY alter egos, some of which you will never know. I found this one out the hard way when I suspected my ex husband of cheating with my best friend. Not only was I right, but the messages I read between him and his friends were downright appalling. He was a completely different person with each person. To be honest, it broke my trust in believe if anyone around me was their true self.

I have no idea! It's the first time I ever heard that saying. I thought maybe it's a weird southern thing.....

I was so annoyed. It’s cool, I took my fine ass downtown and marched in the protest instead ✊🏼

It’s so weird. It’s almost like this conversation was with a completely different person.

Seriously. And I was careful. No red flags but I did have a gut feeling that I didn’t listen to 😫

I am so sorry for your experiences. As a single mother of three, this fear plays a HUGE part in my dating life. My therapist has even said that no man should even be introduced to children prior to 6 months in a committed relationship. She explained that studies have shown men can "fake it" for about 6 months, and then they will start to reveal their true self. I ave found a lot of men get intimidated when I mention waiting that long but if they don't want to wait, there's the door!

I completely agree. I'm a smart, educated woman. I was NOT born yesterday. The blatant disrespect to my intelligence is baffling.

To be fair, I think a lot of women take on these social norms of children and marriage WELL before maturity. I know I did. I got married a week after I turned 18, had my first child at 20 and then two more after. I didnt find true maturity until i was at least 30. I had no idea what i should have been expecting from a relationship, a partner, and a friend. Most of these women get in too deep to fast and drown. TBH, i really don't think its their fault. I was never TAUGHT what a relationship shou…

That's understandable. I have a pretty legit profile with good photos and prompts as well as my IG linked. They aren't asking for nudes, rather just a "selfie" and it bewilders me with all that I have shared already.

Thank you so much for your reply. I think you really hit on a lot of points and I need to do some self reflection. I like to think I'm confident but deep down, I still have a lot of trauma I am healing from after such a long and unhealthy relationship.

I do! And therapy has been a god send. You are absolutely right, I find myself constantly being willing to give in or compromise because that is what I’m used to doing. It’s incredibly difficult

Yeh. Newbie is a total understatement. My ex and I got together at 15. I’ve literally never dated and have no idea how to know what’s genuine and what isn’t

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
