On issues like this and other horrible things like child abuse or sex trafficking, I wonder if they are actually increasing or just being discussed more. I personally think that, rather than getting worse, things have always been much, much worse than we could ever imagine. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. Same ... as ... it ... ever ... was.

'Staying away from women' means no romantic relationships, no 'just friends'. They will suck you into the black hole of drama that is the female mind. You can not avoid all contact with women, so polite indifference is the best general behavior. It is counter-productive to outwardly show contempt, and unnecessary. Being indifferent is the key as women require constant validation. It is also the key to your own sanity and wellbeing.

I quit subscribing to the ACM newsletter because of the constant hype about getting girls\women into STEM. When I learned about compsci at 13, nothing could heve kept me from learning all about it.
