I recommend buying a .22 rifle to begin with. Ammo is very cheap and recoil is almost non existent because it is such a small calibre. They are by far the best gun to learn to shoot with. I moved back home with my parents recently because I didn't have steady work. Now I'm fulltime employed again, I'll be moving out on my own again in the new year. Oh I agree with you totally, but unfortunately having to keep a 9-5 job is the reality for most people. I would ideally like to become completely self sufficient in the future, whether that means starting my own company or investing. Either way, I would need to do a lot of research first and obviously have big money behind me to begin with. So yeah, for now I'll stick with the rat race. Not many other options at this point in my life.

I'm currently between jobs and am trying to survive on welfare. I cannot wait to get back into fulltime employment and work 40 hours per week. Sure it won't be my dream job and I won't be earning six figures, but at least I will have my own apartment again and financial independence. And 40 hours per week is nothing. Great plan! If I had my time again I would have learned a trade. It's not impossible for me now, but it's better to do it when you're younger, especially living on apprentice wages. Once you've learned your trade and proven yourself, you will have no shortage of work and it's something you can always fall back on. Even if you decide to try another job or career later down the track.
