I hear this advice all the time. Call her to arrange the first date, it sets you apart. The problem with this is that it's a lot easier to be sauve through text messages than it is on the phone. Hence why most guys text. So a lot of newbies will call them up, be a little needy or awkward on the phone, and then get flaked on because of it. If you feel the need to be validated by some strangers on the internet, you might need to read some more material in this subreddit. Instead of taking value from the conversation contribute to it.

They will definitely notice but if they don't you can lean over and say something like "who are we all texting?" I actually do this if there are a couple of girls sitting around a table or something. I'll just walk over and stand there quietly and wait for them to feel awkward. They'll normally say something like "Hiiiiiiiiii?" and kinda break the ice for you.

And so all his stories end up with him knowing the most about wine or him knowing the coolest restaurant in the city. He can't have a conversation without backhandedly bragging about himself. Which I guess is his thing, but it's just really annoying when you hear the same pattern of conversation out of him ever…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
