I’m out of the loop, can someone give me a tldr?

Sounds like a healthy relationship from the little you shared, so good on ya.

You may be right, I’m just speaking from what I remember of the case.

I mean kind of, but if I remember correctly from the case that went to the Supreme Court, the accused refused to speak and law enforcement successfully argued that he was simply being belligerent and not helpful (or something similar) and if he had stated why he wasn’t talking they could not have used him not talking against him. It’s kind of scummy but it’s technically true: if you don’t explain your motivation for not talking all they can do is assume your motive and they WILL assume the worst…

The “not all” comment is what bothers me the most tbh. “Not all men” implies that it is the substantial majority of men who do bad stuff which is so wrong it’s almost anti-truth.

Genuine question, why did you post this comment? I’m quite curious.

Well he has said many times that he hates everyone equally. So at least he’s being consistent lol.

Um, I think you’re just completely missing the point.

And stop texting nasty things. On top of not being a good thing to do it will 100% be used against him in the eyes of the law.

While I agree with you, the point isn’t to have women also in the draft, it’s that there shouldn’t be a draft at all.

Bro what are you even talking about?
/r/MensRights19/06/22 07:52 PM

That’s why the Depp/Heard trial was so publicly popular, I think. We all know an Amber Heard and we all know a Johnny Depp that she was abusive toward and tried to flip it on him.
/r/MensRights17/06/22 12:45 AM

Except that that still implies that it’s a majority. “Not all” basically says “I know it’s a whole hell of a lot, but it’s not all of them” which concedes ground that shouldn’t be conceded. Statistically it’s an overwhelmingly small minority of men.

Damn. Well I know I’m some rando on the internet but if you need someone to talk to, I’ll offer my time. Just dm me if you’re interested. Even if you’re not, just know you’re not alone.

I’m curious, was she always that way? Did it change when you got married? Could you see any indication prior to being married? What happened the first few times she tried to do that? If you don’t want to get into it, I understand. I’m glad you’re doing better now!

I think it definitely varies from individual to individual. I think he was more talking in broad generalities.

As a guy who’s not that interested in getting married, I don’t like the blanket statement “don’t get married.” I know many happily married friends and family. Marriage has an essential role in society. I think the better advice is to use the dating and engagement periods to learn if your GF/whatever is the kind of woman described in this post/comment. It is often hard to know early on, sure, but a really good indication of this is any time there’s a disagreement. When you stick up for yourself a…

No one decided. It was a slow process over many many years. It will have to change in the same way. Thankfully things like to Depp/Heard trial are doing a lot of good on a societal level. I hope that opens the door for more, much needed, change/eye-opening.

It’s more that it’s still a commonly practiced religious thing for males. Legally you get into religious freedom territories and that’s harder to fight with.

“I’m not low value” Your value as a man and as a human is not dependent on your level of income. I am not trying to criticize you, I just see this kind of thinking tear a lot of guys up. Best of luck to you my dude!

This probly largely depends on your location. I live in the South in the US and I have doors held for me and I hold doors for others all the time. It’s common courtesy regardless of gender. Most people say thank you.

The way I understand feminism is such that there is essentially a “rights landscape” if you want to conceptualize it that way. According to modern feminist dogma, in this “rights landscape” men hold a higher status/position than women do across, essentially, all dimensions. So in order to equalize the statuses of men and women relative to each other you, not only, need to bring women up, but you also need to bring men down. This is how they can preach “equal rights” and actually have it make sen…

That sucks man. Yeah I know that cops are like that. They clearly did the same thing in the story here. I was just pointing out that the insanity plea wasn’t what got this woman off the hook it was clearly police bias.
/r/MensRights05/11/21 06:37 PM
27

A successful insanity plea does not get you off the hook. You actually get locked up in a mental institution which is far worse than prison, especially if you’re not actually insane. I don’t know the particulars of this instance but I can almost guarantee that the actual process of pleading insanity is not at play here.

Sorry I had a busy day yesterday. Idk if you even want to continue the conversation. But I’m up for it if you are. Yes obviously this does happen. I just find it very hard to believe that every instance of this happening is one of those cases. I thought about this conversation more and I think my entire issue is your phrasing in your original comment. “No feminists.” This is a universal statement that leaves no room for exception. This statement claims that literally 100% of all feminists on the…

There’s plenty on Twitter. They get posted on this sub from time to time. I don’t use twitter so I wouldn’t be able to dig for them but if you hang out on Twitter long enough you’ll see them. If you’re asking about prominent “thought-leader” types I couldn’t give you any offhand. I have a bad memory for names. I know this response will likely be unconvincing to you and that’s okay. I just wouldn’t make the claim if I hadn’t actually seen it. Again this is specifically regarding adult women doing…

I think when you look at the global population it gets pretty bad, percentage wise. Probly not 95% but it is the vast majority, I’d say. In the West it’s probly a minority but not by much. I don’t have hard data to work with here, just speculating.

Allow me to pull out a cheesy analogy. When King Leonidas saw the Persian invasion and saw it for the threat that it was. He knew he could never defeat them. But he and his men still chose to stand and fight because it was the right thing to do. They all died, but they all died as heroes. We fight this fight because it is the right thing to do and because our cause is just, not because we expect to win. Who knows. Maybe it will get better in future generations and they’ll point back to us as hav…

I’m new to this sub and I’m trying to understand. I was circumcised as an infant and nothing was damaged. I know that in some rare instances things can be but it’s not common from my understanding. I’m curious why this is treated as such a serious issue that it warrants such strong language in various comments. I am 100% trying to understand and not start an argument. Totally willing to see where I might be wrong or have a blind spot.

New to this sub, what’s the argument around circumcision?

Oh okay I did not understand that from your first sentence in your previous comment. That’s my bad.
/r/MensRights19/04/21 04:38 AM

It’s not that it would be a bad idea. I think you’re slightly missing the point (correct me if I’m wrong). Why the phrase “teach men not to rape” is offensive to a lot of guys is that the underlying assumption of that phrase is that without being taught, men’s “default” is that raping is totally acceptable. Like we have a fundamental moral failure built into us (hence the previous commenter’s comparison to racism) that we have to be taught to resist or something. I hope that makes sense. Edit: I…

Firstly, let me say that I do understand what you mean about comprehension issues. It seems to be the case in most subreddits - there’s enough group-think going on that anything close to their pet subject is attacked even if it may not need to be. Totally fair criticism. Dealing with the subject at hand, though: Looking at a given population of people and saying “too many of these people have the same skin color” is racism full stop. I don’t care what “race” is the subject of that sentence. I’d …

I was only assuming that based on the fact that both white people and males were specifically and independently called out in the title of the article. If that’s an incorrect assumption based on the actual contents of the article, you can still understand how I came to that assumption, can you not? As I mentioned in an earlier comment, I was reacting to the data we had on-hand (in the screenshot) which is clearly what the person in the screenshot is reacting to and what is the whole point of the…

For the record: I don’t care about the “white” part. Who cares what they look like. If it’s making the case that more women should be firefighters then that’s just dumb. Excepting of course if the woman in question are capable of carrying an average adult male out of a building while wearing all the necessary gear. If that’s the case then good for them. But if I find myself in a burning building and unable to get out due to injury and some even average woman shows up who is incapable of assistin…

I was trying to be objective based on the information in the screenshot. I’ve not tracked down and read the article and I don’t much care to. I was simply addressing the original commenter’s point about the white males part. You’re inserting a whole lot of motive into my comment that simply isn’t there.
/r/PussyPassDenied02/03/20 09:53 AM

It literally says “white and male” specifically calling out both. To me this implies the author has an issue not only with firefighters being white but with them being male as well. If the author had issue only with them being white they would have phrased it something like “firefighters are overwhelmingly white men” not “white and male.” Not sure if that makes sense. I do agree that it may not fit the sub, though.
