I found this report Amongst the cases: n Dacian Martin (27), of Church Street, Banwell. Two counts of assault: Two-year community order with three-year restraining order, ordered to pay £100 compensation, £100 costs and £60 victim surcharge. This is consistent with the reports and comes from a local news outlet apparently unrelated to the tabloid press. Edit: more arguments for and against the veracity of this story. My feeling is that the incident did actually happen, but Laurie Malyon's injuri…

Fair points, the fact that this story only seems to have made it to the Mirror is probably indicative that it's fake, otherwise one would expect that other mainstream papers would also have reported it.

The Mirror is a mainstream news outlet in the UK, one hopes they checked their facts. There's also another article from a local news outlet that seems to confirm the event happened. Also featured in the Bristol Post. That being said, there are plenty of people who seem to provide evidence that the story is actually fake. Edit: the fact that no other major media outlets seem to have reported the story would suggest that it is indeed a hoax.

Generally speaking, most Americans are uneducated on topics of nutrition The information on how to live healthy is freely available, I would say that the majority of people are willfully ignorant of the facts. While their aesthetic appeal is not directly related to their ability to argue logically, this does bear considering - as an example, who is more likely to argue for greater taxation for the rich, a millionaire CEO or someone in dire poverty? If you wouldn't contemplate such interaction in real life, wasting time doing so on the internet would seem to be an exercise in futility.

The fact that you exist is literally the result of hundreds of people fucking throughout the ages, yet you could have the opportunity to be the first of your genetic line to stick your cock in a sexy android. Imagine we were talking about transportation, "So lazy, you need a plane to get from New York to Los Angeles? What happened to walking?". If you don't apply this standard in the rest of your daily life, then I don't see why this is a valid argument.

I made this comment in a r/Futurology thread on the subject: Will it be sex robots, or will it be a Matrix-like experience that you can plug into? The mechanical complexity of building an android that looks, feels and behaves like a human being seems far too daunting when compared with the prospect of a virtual reality experience so real it would be indistinguishable from reality. It is already possible to make sperm cells from female skin I'm surprised I haven't heard of this, link? What exactly is your hope for the artificial womb? I think that if men could have children without women, and when technology is sufficiently advanced to offer men an artificial sexual experience that is affordable and indistinguishable from the real thing, the structure of society would change radically.

With the advent of drones this man to power ratio is getting higher. For all intents and purposes you could be a cripple in a wheelchair, control 10+ of these drones and rain down hell 10,000 km away. That is a very small window on the unbelievably enormous infrastructure that goes into designing, building and maintaining these drones. After hand guns became effective weapons, having skills as a good swordsman was useless. A lot of swordsman cried and said that guns are unmanly or some nonsense like that, but then they usually ended up dead from a gun. I'm sure when bronze axes came about there were similar complaints. Ah, but who creates and maintains technology? If men for example decided tomorrow to stop all their involvement in the extraction, refining and transportation of fossil fuel - how many smart women would take up the slack? One man can impregant countless women, but 1 woman can only make 1 child per year. Because of mass production from a biological perspective men are less important then ever. When the artificial womb becomes a technological reality, what then?

Now everything is fine. I understand. I'm just not good enough. Women aren't evil, they have their own needs and tendencies. Nobody cares about my woes, I am the only one who can fix my life. An excellent synopsis of what people should absorb from this sub. It hits you like this and even though you know it is logically coherent, you fight the conclusion because of the path of future effort it implies - but once you allow yourself to believe it, there's no going back.

She's going to turn 35 and she will experience more pain that you ever did in your sad little teens / early twenties. True words, but to rely on schadenfreude for personal satisfaction is a mistake. To hope for the misfortune of others in order to be happy is just that, hope. Let it go, take control of the things you can in your own life and the bitterness will melt away.

A common complaint of women on here is that women are all hypergamous whores looking for the next cock to jump on. It's only a complaint because it runs contrary to what we were raised to believe about women. Once you recognize it as a trait, you stop whining about it and strive to become the next cock to jump on. Also stop hating women for what they are attracted to. Precisely this, if you absolve yourself of culpability then you are applying the same rationale as the women you claim to be angry at. I believe a lot of the anger comes from reliving past situations and thinking how much better you would have handled them if you knew - rather, believed - now what you do today. What irked me was when Leonidas turned round for his wife's nod of approval before kicking the messenger down the pit. Not necessarily inaccurate though, Schopenhauer notes: "Aristotle explains in the Politics the great disadvantages which the Spartans brought upon themselves by granting too much to their women, by allowing them the right of inheritance and dowry, and a great amount of freedom; and how this contributed greatly to the fall of Sparta." After seeing the trailer for the sequel I und…

My guess is that the term "emotional maturity" as referred to in TRP is more of a placeholder for want of a better expression, and the level of ambiguity it allows does not facilitate a healthy discussion. Let's look at a Schopenhauer quote: "Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, and foolish, and shortsighted – in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the ch…

In this case, the sidebar remarks are presented as universal truth claims and I believe this is what is being challenged. I would however agree that if something functions in your immediate milieu then as an individual you have no practical reason to prove the universality of the claim.

The only thing I'm arguing against is a statement made in the side bar material that states that women stop maturing emotionally after adolescence and have the emotional intelligence, maturity, regulation of a teenager. This is a legitimate question, and indeed beyond quoting Schopenhauer there is no empirical evidence given for the assertion - it is presented as being as self evident, because evereyone knows women are like that, amirite? Hardly scientific. The biggest hurdle appears to be even …

It's not an easy metric to define, and it would seem futile to attempt to assign it an empirical value. The "emotional intelligence" as defined in the studies though seems to me like moving the goalposts, the attributes measured are meaningless if the context of what TRP stands for. For example, look at this article about female and male running performance times. While men obviously run faster in terms of distance over time, it redifines velocity as "heights" over time... Well, it is possible t…

Anecdotal evidence and personal experiences validate the theory to those who apply it. You can rightly argue that this alone could be used to validate even the most bizarre religious beliefs and is therefore meaningless. You quoted several studies below but none of them address the question of whether or not women respond positively to being treated like children. By "respond positively" I would clarify that I understand this as meaning "are happier and with a better sense of well being", not "a…

Let's flip it, if I read on a female oriented forum something like "Men are shallow creatures who can be made to do virtually anything if you show a bit of cleavage and pout", you might forgive me for being filled with righteous indignation at the insult to my gender. If you then show me how most men react when a beautiful women walks into the room, I would be grudgingly forced to admit that as insulting as the advice was, there was some truth to it.

Responding to mind games ≠ emotional abuse. It seems to be a virtually universal experience amongst men, and certainly a personal one, that catering to a woman's every whim is a sure way of making yourself less attractive in her eyes. That's a great manifesto, and the world would be a better place if everyone would live by it. However, human nature being what it is, that's not going to happen in our lifetimes. Since avoiding manipulating/being manipulated completely would involve removing yourself from all human interaction, this is not an option for most people. Many women recognize that stringing a man along with the prospect of sex is a way to obtain the time, assets and labor of that man. Is this not exactly treating a person as a lesser human being because it gets you something you want?
