Nobody is arguing that. Harsher sentences would still act as a deterrent, which is their primary purpose. To completely ignore that aspect and only focus on a theoretical decrease in guilty pleas is not looking at the bigger picture. At worse, any decrease in voluntary guilty pleas would be offset by the deterrence of harsher sentencing, and the increased justice would be icing on the cake.

Harsh sentences are meant as a deterrent, first and foremost. I'm sure some liars may not be as willing to telling the truth, but at least that many or more would think twice before lying in the first place.

It really sucks that women can get away with falsely claiming rape with complete impunity. Not only is it extremely disrespectful to real rape victims, but it's a serious crime tantamount to threats of violence, or worse. Threatening to punch someone is nothing compared to threatening to accuse someone of rape, which would completely ruin someone's life. After the Mandi Gray case, it is really troubling how the "anti victim blaming" movement has made the need for evidence obsolete.

OP, not only is that not true, but it is also important to note that in males, both Y and X chromosomes are functional, while in females, one of the X Chromosomes lyonizes and becomes a Barr Body. This invariably ruins the life of the accused, who is sometimes the victim (as is the case here), and takes away credibility from real victims of rape, not the "rape by words" BS that SJW and feminists are pushing with their agenda. The person accused of rape should not be named until proven guilty, and the person ultimately found to be fabricating the rape should face the same consequences as someone found guilty of rape.
