I think it has more to do with how society values certain professions (good or bad) and also the gender makeup of that particular profession. For example Teachers (more female dominated professions) have historically been underpaid. If 80% of Teachers are women and 20% of accountants are women, then women on average will make less.

Are you sure this isn’t quarantine PTSD? I used to be extremely extroverted before covid but after living indoors away from society for 2.5 years, im not sure how to assimilate back into society. Im in therapy for it fyi. But Ive come out the other side of Covid a changed human
