What you’ve said is men in general are more likely to date women who sleep around. That’s not a deterministic statement though, does that speak to them pursuing those women solely because they sleep around though? Because I don’t think that proves that. I also think your portrayal of women often being chaste due to being repressed is an assumption, and quite a negative and unsubstantiated one. I only know a single guy dating a woman who has openly slept around, but that’s because he has also ope…

Young men are definitely impatient, that’s true but I disagree with the idea that they’re looking for full sexual availability. Men place value on perceived sexual interest. You can be chaste, but still signal in some shape or form that you’re in touch with your sexuality. Men want someone who isn’t uncomfortable with their sexuality or their body basically. And yes, the sexually available women signal that, but so do women who don’t sleep around. It comes down to how you carry yourself. That’s …

“General truths” based on your own personal experience is the exact issue, that’s a contradiction. They aren’t general truths, their anecdotal assumptions. That’s my whole and only point. If your “general truths” and personal experiences are valid, so too are mine. So what makes them dumb? I’m just saying the same thing you are. You’re saying my experience is the exception, I’m saying yours is. What’s the problem exactly?

How exactly and specifically does not caring about a 9-5 therefore directly mean someone is a psychopath and sees people as objects??? What? I wish that was me just misrepresenting your argument but that’s actually what you’re arguing here. Sorry to say, but I’m much more than my 9-5 and anyone who sees me as just my job is a psychopath. If anything, seeing people just based on their careers is viewing people based on their use. Because that’s exactly what it is. It puts people in boxes of usefu…

You seem to completely omit your beginning absolute statement: “I think better of men than you, but no, decent men of course care about what their partner does”. Your statement directly states that in order to be “decent” a man must “of course” care about what their partner does. It leaves no room for those who do not care, to also be “decent”. Your statement then makes a false equivalency and straw man argument suggesting that those who don’t care about what their partner does must therefore on…

No I did. You literally said “I don’t know a single high earning who’s with a barista” as well as “guys like that need a partner in a partner who can blend into their social circles”, and “most high earning guys I know are with a woman who’s also high-earning”. You basically said 3 times that it’s not really happening and everyone suggesting otherwise is wrong. Your first statement about baristas was also pretty absolute and suggesting that you left room for exceptions in that statement is disin…

Your own personal arbitrary definition of what constitutes “better” is specific to you. No one has to necessarily share that opinion, and not sharing that opinion doesn’t make anyone worse. Plenty of other people don’t assign judgements of “better” or worse to whether a man cares about how successful a woman is or not. In fact, other people might see that standard itself as superficial. I’m not an Engineer when I’m changing my baby’s diaper at 4am, I’m me. The same person I was before I was an E…

The dental hygienist is in the same environment though. I am absolutely not from the same socioeconomic background as my wife though. She’s from a family of self-made millionaires and I’ve been homeless 3 times and lived out of a motel for most of High School before meeting her in college. I make 3x my wife’s salary. I don’t care what her job is.

The only way I can think of to actually accurately determine that the other person is also looking without directly asking them is via dating apps. I can’t think of another plausible way. Single’s events maybe? I don’t have any stake in this but that’s all I can practically think of. Are you saying that the only real method for the hypothetical guys looking for someone else is apps and specifically designated dating events?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
