I never used an app, I just recommend doing some reading at the website since it gives a good breakdown of the rationale and methodology behind strength training. Ultimately I think the app is superfluous since you've only really 5 numbers to remember anyways. As for diet, I simply began using a notepad and foodscale to record what and how much I was eating. I don't eat fast food very often, so every calorie that I intake goes through me in the kitchen first. Use a TDEE to figure out how many ca…

Testosterone doesn't directly build muscle; it's a hormone. Yes, it's a major signal for your body to kick up the protein synthesis. Yes, a man's testosterone concentrations are proportional to his theoretical maximum muscle mass. No, testosterone does not directly form amino acids into proteins, nor does it give satellite cells the nutrition they need to fuse into muscle cells and replicate. Even if it did, what is the muscle tissue fundamentally made of? Cells. Cells have structures. Protein i…

I'm assuming you've read the stronglifts 5x5 breakdown (if not, google) which recommends a 3-day per week regimen structured A|B|A B|A|B wherein day A involves squats, bench, row + 2 accessories, and B involves squats, overhead press, and deadlift + 2 accessories. Accessories are exercises which you perform outside the 3 mandatory compound movements of the day. They can be anything really and most people will typically select them based on their goals or weaknesses. I think that pull-ups are the…

Rear Delts if you have access to a cable cross: face pulls with the rope. if not, try laying face-down on a flat bench with a 15lb dumbbell on either side, and perform a rowing motion such that your humeruses (humeri?) are perpendicular to the spine (would look like a + from above) Traps Deadlifts and shrugs.

A guy who is 6' tall weighing in at 139 lbs isn't what i'd call athletic You aren't gaining weight because you aren't eating enough. TDEE calc tells me (assuming your age at 20) that you average 2k calories per day. A 176lb guy who also does nothing eats 2200 calories per day. If you want to add weight that isn't fat, you'll need to lift. Once you start lifting, bump your diet up to 2500 calories per diem and see what happens. Walking 1 mile per day isn't a feat; my grandmother just had a knee r…

I believe intermittent fasting is really great in two scenarios: you have already been bodybuilding/strength training for a while, and are looking to hit a specific weight goal (either for bf% reasons or for competition reasons) and are just a stubborn pound or three out. Short periods. You have been strength training/bodybuilding for a while, are lean and muscular, and would like to either maintain or grow at glacial speeds. In this case 16 hours of fasting is probably too much, based on the gu…

Is it the worst thing in the world? maybe not. But a prolonged period of doing this will probably not do good things for your posture or physique. This routine completely lacks anything for quads, shoulders, maybe chest, rhomboids, lats... A really good routine can involve as few as 6 lifts: deadlift, squat, pull-ups, bent-over rows, bench press, and overhead press. the important thing is to really make sure none of your joints are ending up far stronger on one end than the other. Your posture t…

It's possible but not optimal to gain muscle while intermittent fasting. Your diet is a fucking mess. Proof that you need protein intake for muscle retention/gaining? Do you think muscles are made of good intentions and magical fairy dust, or... protein? If you are concerned with having more than female amounts of muscle, then you need more protein than the daily recommended amount and a lifting regimen. Jerking off is not regular grip exercise. If you want to start an exercise regimen then I re…

Stronglifts 5x5 is one of the best starting programs. I'd recommend dedicating at least one accessory movement to pull-ups (and eventually weighted pulls) per week. Treating these even as a 5x5 unto themselves is a great idea. Use the others for calves, bis, tris, rear delts, lateral delts, abs, obliques, lunges. Get off the program after about a year and transition either into a 3x5, madcow, or a volume-based program depending on where your goals are.

This diet is a fucking meme that could potentially kill you. What you need to do is: Start counting how many calories you are eating every day Consult a TDEE calculator and a BMI index to figure out how many calories a person of your height in A HUMAN WEIGHT RANGE (BMI <25) needs per day. Fix your diet until these two figures agree. Using willpower and discipline, stick to your diet for a long time. Once your weight begins to near the projected weight from point #2, slash your caloric intake by …

Whole milk: 11g sugar per 250 mL x 2-3 Banana: 12g per 100g, typical banana 120g range kiwis: 9g about 75g per typical peeled kiwi pb: about 2g sugar per tablespoon. You're eating about 70g of sugar, and i'm sure you're also blending this so that your stomach is able to process this rather quickly; including the fructose. Are you surprised after you sugar crash after 2 cans of cola?

it's about 25-30 pounds away, then you'll likely need to actually re-bulk in order to build enough muscle to be worth looking at. I'd say a year if you're disciplined.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
