Maybe their slutty friends have no problems finding partners, but what about finding husbands? I think it's important to remember that a lot of people will completely change their dating strategies when they're looking for spouses instead of sexual partners. Just because a man will be a slut's sexual partner does not mean he will be her husband, provider, or father to her offspring. I don't think this thread will go anywhere thought-provoking unless it is specifically addressing experiences with…

How can you have a strong preference not to know and say you don't care? If you have a strong preference, then clearly you do care and just want to shield yourself from the truth. Think of truly inconsequential things, like his favorite flavor of ice cream. You don't have a strong preference against finding out because ice cream doesn't matter. Having a strong preference immediately indicates that you do care. Am I misunderstanding?

It's a negative stereotype. It's defined by mostly negative characteristics. I described the consequences of her behavior only with uncertainty, so I don't see a revenge fantasy. To clarify, Stacy and I never interacted much. I have no emotional investment in this, I've just heard stories about her for a long time.

Why are so many people downvoting this? Too dumb to realize I'm describing a stereotype?

Stacy is a young, physically attractive woman who will age quickly. She probably attended university, where she exclusively fucked outside of relationships. She is more repulsed by and mean toward betas than other women. Like Chad, Stacy may or may not have a good job or a stable family throughout middle age. She is at a higher risk of alcoholism than the average woman.

I dislike these arguments from either side. I just don't think the correlation between number of partners and sexual satisfactoriness is very high. Your virgin bride might never learn to please her partner in bed. A slut might never have learned, either. Rigid, stony attitudes that lead to unsatisfactory sex will exist in inexperienced and experienced girls, and I don't see how partner count is a good way of predicting what seems to be behavior that anyone can display. Either they are willing to…

The words you chose have connotations. Replace "combative" with "competitive" and "compassionate" with "soft". That's not fair and neither were the words you used.

A masculine society is best described as combative and militaristic, and a feminine society is best described as empathetic and compassionate? Gee, women sure are wonderful. Your understanding of the modern military is laughable, by the way.

It probably isn't the same men saying both of those things. And even if it was, it still wouldn't be a contradiction. It would just make the weird implication that no women who date are LTR material. I would stop talking to anyone who tries to have sex on the first date. I'm not interested in people who treat sex so casually. Some other men would think it means she really likes them, but I'd assume it's because she doesn't give a shit about whom she sleeps with.

They are wrong in thinking that they could use social conditioning of men to lower the incidence of rape in the West as it now exists. The men who are raping have not responded to social conditioning until now and will continue to ignore it. I think it's more likely that the opposite would happen, where meddling brings out aggression and resentment and leads to an increase in rape. I see a lot more men enraged at progressives than I see sympathizers and it makes sense to me that as natural mascu…

Whether she likes it or not, the primitive parts of her brain will scream for her to secure a provider for the coming child. For the entirety of human history, casual sex, if followed by pregnancy, would guarantee the death of herself or the child. This is why women typically feel worse than men after casual sex. But as deliberating humans, I think women usually expect casual sex to go nowhere. There are just some nasty cognitive drawbacks that men don't have to deal with.

It seems to me that people think it's necessary for happiness because of the confidence boost of knowing they're truly attractive. If that's the case, then people who strongly believe in themselves won't consider it necessary, even if they enjoy it.

I began with a post describing what I enjoy doing with my girlfriend, but after reading your posts, I got the impression that you don't see value in spending time with a sexual partner at all. I thought it would be better to point out that in a strong relationship, you get an urge to share your experiences with your partner. It is not necessarily that what you're doing benefits from an extra set of hands; it's that you enjoy their company either way. It's a totally different feeling from sharing…

What you've calculated, 1/400, is the probability that one randomly selected man and one randomly selected woman, and those two alone, will find each other attractive. Look up the birthday problem if you'd like to get a general sense of what's going on mathematically.

Plenty of our behavior is learned. Our parents teach us many lessons on how to behave. It is silly to think that any of us understood most of our social behavior without help. Should people be criticized for having to look elsewhere, or for learning lessons at a later stage? If so, why? Does this attitude extend to girls who ask their friends for boy advice, as it logically should?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/17 01:16 AM
9

I find this line of reasoning strange. Why is it important that a man never ask for help with engaging women? Are there any other social skills that people shouldn't ask for help understanding, or is it just making an effort to become sexually attractive that you are averse to?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/17 01:01 AM

No, you have to read the whole post before you reply. Show that deceitfulness has a stronger correlation to intelligence than honest sexual attractiveness. This is so nuanced that it should require citation.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/17 06:25 PM
6

Because manipulation is a sexual strategy for the benefit of one party at the expense of the other. Also, deceitfulness is not equivalent to intelligence, so you'd have a lot of work to do if you wanted to show that the trait is a net positive for the species.

It's going overboard, but I don't see how it's exclusive to the developed world. In every part of the world, there are people obsessing over who gets to have how much sex with whom.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/17 01:33 PM

The only peoples around the world that wouldn't think about these things are in the middle of armed conflict. Almost everyone on the planet contemplates sexual relationships as we are doing. We should all count our blessings, but we should also do it on our own time. I don't think there's a need to bring it up here.

The idea is that the more time you spend with someone, the more you'll understand them as a person, and the better you'll be able to choose whether you think you could have a future with them or not. There will be some people who will make it to the second date, but not the third. Deal breakers will be revealed. I've saved myself from sharing a bed with people I find undesirable by waiting it out a bit. It's about giving consideration to longevity.

I will reuse the example of only bothering with women who have sex on the first date. If someone follows this typical piece of red advice, any woman who has made the personal choice to hold off for longer will be left out. The subset of women that are bedded by red pill advice will probably not include these women. Of course, not everyone will follow that piece of advice. I have one red pill friend whose limit is three dates. It's just an example of how the red pill could vet girls who don't fit…

It was just a bachelor's, so I wouldn't say there was anything particular. My university offered a lot of courses on the Greeks. I know less about what came after the Roman Empire. My problem with the phrase is that, even if what you're saying is true, it is doomed to be horribly misinterpreted at every turn. I wouldn't have much to say against it if it were "most women are like that", or "all women are capable of that".

Depends on what they're talking about. Eating well and exercising will benefit most aspects of your life, and that's something they preach. I think this will help attract any woman worth attracting. However, the sub's main focus is hook ups, and I see a lot of advice that would drive away a woman who is looking for something else. It's even common advice to ignore women who won't have sex on the first date. If that's not selection bias, I don't know what is. There's obviously advice there that w…

It teaches men with little experience how to attract only one subset of women, and simultaneously, other people on the sub tell them that these are the only women that exist. If they don't have a lot of prior success, then they don't have any evidence to the contrary. Of course, I don't view it as purely negative. There are valuable lessons to be learned. I think it has helped men see women as people instead of angels.

Maybe if people started saying what they meant instead of using a generalization that, from my own experiences alone, isn't even close to being true, the red pill wouldn't be a group of internet lepers. The phrase exists because it pushes angry young men to believe whatever else they're told on the sub. Not because it's an effective generalization.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/17 01:18 PM

The dogma that often gets passed around that "all women are like that" is one of the reasons I take the red pill with a grain of salt. It makes it a lot harder to believe other aspects of the sub when something so stupid continues to be said by so many.

In an interaction between a man and a woman, the typical bystander will assume the man holds more power, physically and otherwise. So, a man who sleeps with a younger woman is assumed to be taking advantage of the woman. He's had more experience and he's capable of manipulations. She's seen as being gullible and an easy mark for someone looking for sex. With older women and younger men, however, it's assumed that the man has more control over the situation. Additionally, there is the idea that m…

So it's a lot of sexual partners but it's not a lot of hookups? The reason you think a small number of hookups isn't a lot is because you're only comparing people who have hookups. Once you take into consideration all of the people who have none at all, a small number of hookups becomes a lot. Within the hookup community, ten hookups is not very many. In the human community, it is. In a laboratory, 5g of mercury is not very much. Within a human body, it is a lot. It depends on the context, and r…

When the average amount of lifetime sexual partners is somewhere around four or five, then one or two hookups per year is a lot. This seems to follow by definition and I'm not sure how it could be argued against.

Part of my point was that you could only ever notice trends in the ones who explicitly confirm their preferences and history. This almost guarantees their social ineptitude. I have preferences, and I have never in my life spoken of them outright. You would think I was just like yourself and your friends. People have expectations of me based on my appearance and social skills, but they aren't based on who I actually am, and they aren't correct. I exist alongside you, and because I'm not obvious, …

Rather than challenging your view, I'd like to challenge your ridiculous strawman. Not every person who prefers a low count is some failure who spends his whole day masturbating to photos of you and your amazing friends between rounds of Dota. Lots of people, both male and female, prefer a low count for both their partners and themselves. It's not because they think they're sexually inadequate or because they can't get laid. It's a lifestyle choice, just as it was for you. And since they aren't …
