Well no, it's instinctual for us to just defeat whatever is hurting us, but we can't fight back because we'll always be blamed if we do.

> A stay at home mother would never lose custody of her kid. Not true, but certainly exceedingly rare. > She would never be forced to give 100% of her earnings to the father. If a father were to kidnap is son and the mother looked for him, there would be a major campaign to find him demonizing the father as a horrible criminal (and rightly so to be honest) . And no way the courts would deem her "dangerous" or "aggressive" for posting signs looking for him. And lastly if there were suspicions o…

This is definitely an extreme and not an argument I would try and justify to someone, but the spirit of it is true. We, and by we I mean our society, assumes women need extra help to succeed and we think men who have problems are just lazy or pathetic.

Affirmative action doesn't benefit women or minorities. It just let's politicians and corporations feel like they're doing a good job. It blows my mind that people don't see affirmative action as sexist and racist.

You guys are so dumb. Makes it hard to be an MRA when I see this shit. Serena wasn't mad about the racket breaking violation. She was mad that the coaching violation was upheld, meaning the racket break resulted in her losing a point at a point in the match where she was gaining in momentum and consistency. Ramos almost never gives coaching violations, and he never penalized Nadal's uncle for waaaaaay worse coaching infractions. Even Pascha was coaching. That violation was bullshit. Then she con…

He gave her a warning It was a violation. 'Warning' outside of tennis implies it has no specific consequence. But it was a violation which precipitated the point loss when she broke her racket. And referring to Patrick's interview that you saw too, those violations are bullshit. They're a relic from a time when English sensibilities were very important. the coach admitted Ramos was correct later Yeah and Pascha was doing the same stuff as Patrick. Vague gesturing. The violations are meant to pro…

No players be penalized for having weak spats with the chair. It doesn't affect the game. No one gets hurt. Except your feelings I guess? Even racket smashing violations are stupid. The court is fine. I'd rather have the players just dump some negative energy so that the match is better.

What do you know about her to be so sure that she's a selfish, entitled bitch? The William's were given no credence and were expected to get wrecked out of existence when they first went on tour. They had nothing. Their dad risked everything to take them to Florida and get them into the tennis sphere. She is the greatest tennis player of all time and also has had the most bullshit incidents happen to her. The 2004 incident is the earliest I can remember but Wimbledon trying to ban her because sh…

When did Ramos give Nadal a coaching violation and how many obvious instances of coaching did it take in the same match for Ramos to give a violation? Serena was reacting to bullshit being committed against her. Top tier bullshit that has affected her many times. She should have comported herself better, but that doesn't absolve Ramos of his bizarre anti-Serena bias. The women/men point Serena made is that men and women aren't assessed equally by the WTA. That's a blatantly true statement. On th…

Goes into a flurry of giving violations that he never hands out, even for much less? Even when both coaches are doing the same thing and the players are paying no mind to it? Maybe it was the heat but he broke his own standards. He broke a pattern of consistency, and I'm mind blown that other MRAs are siding with him just because Serena said the chairs treat women and men differently when they demonstrably do, especially Ramos. The whole open was a shitshow. Not just with the weird sex bias that…

We're getting downvoted to hell, but yeah it is. It's easy to look at Serena's behavior and see it as worthy of a penalty, but there's no consistency. Ramos showed himself to be erratic whenever he decides he's going to hand out penalties.
/r/MensRights11/09/18 04:50 AM

Uh no she isn't blaming men. Don't be sensitive. She's saying the men say much worse and do much worse and don't get violations. The only legitimate violation she received was for breaking her racket. Ramos practically never gives coaching violations and Pascha was coaching more than Patrick was. And like Pat said, Ramos chaired a bunch of Nadal finals and Nadal's coaches have full on conversations with him, and Ramos never gave him a violation. So then she says something very mild to him and he…

It's been acceptable for some time now, ever since identity realism went mainstream. I don't necessarily call myself an MRA, and part of the reason is because you guys need to stop acting like this stuff hasn't been happening for a long time. Just post this stuff as discrimination and archive it on your computer. Then offer it to whoever needs to see it as evidence of discrimination: school deans if it's people in your student government, politicians if you're part of the activist sphere, etc.

Not sure why you got downvoted because this is completely true. Any stress during a polygraph reads as a failure. First they take baseline readings, but those questions are benign, like "your name is blah blah." Then they ask questions like "did you lie about your husband raping your daughter" and of course the person reacts and exceeds the baseline. It's a stupid test. Why any institution still uses them is beyond me.
/r/MensRights21/06/18 05:37 PM

Men are much better equipped to pass polygraphs. Women tend to internally react to their own lying to a much greater degree than men. Iirc when women fail polygraphs it's to a much higher degree than men do, like multiple points of difference on average.

Polygraphs are extremely unreliable, and men tend to be much more proficient liars. He doesn't at all seem like he would do what he was accused of, but taking polygraph results as fact is not a good strategy.

The force has announced a Domestic Homicide Review will take place to examine the circumstances which led up to Mr van Dongen's death. Yes it is. I said this to someone else I'm worried I'm responding to too many of these, but sex is on a different axis, mathematically, from race.
/r/MensRights26/10/17 04:20 PM
1

Race and sex are on different axis. Black people commit more crime because of socioeconomic reasons. Males commit more crime because we are genetically predisposed to aggression. Black men commit the most crime because they have both pressures on them. For black Americans, we can easily solve their socioeconomic issues. For men, we can solve all the problems they face: violent abuse, rejection by society, and yes, socialization.
/r/MensRights26/10/17 04:15 PM

No it's the "women give birth, men hunt" part of evolution. Who are the most successful women? The ones who give birth. Who are the most successful men? They one who can protect and provide for their offspring. We're talking over the entirety of human history. This is not bullshit, it's why men are more violent. Women are exactly as "predisposed to violence" as men, but as in everything else, men are better at it. See this is the reason I can't be open about being an MRA. Men and women have diff…

Yes I quoted it directly so I wouldn't be accused of mincing words. To add a word to yours, if I violent man decides someone needs to die, they try and are more likely to be successful than a woman. However, there's an extra explanation that goes into why women don't try to kill people as often: they are biologically programmed to care, not harm. When a male lion kills another male lion, what does he do? Murder all the kids. Men are more likely to be predisposed to violence than women. That's a …

Okay my argument is that males, which I am a male, are significantly statistically more likely to be violent offenders than anyone else. As men, we need to figure out why that is.

My problem with this is that there are women in relationships like this, but there are men in them also, and neither category of abusers are going to see this poster as referring to them. Emotional abusers never think they are in the wrong. "It's those other horrible boyfriends/girlfriends who abuse their partners"
/r/MensRights24/09/17 07:11 PM

I watch so many YTers that were pised about this movie not having women or showing more of the tiny fraction of soldiers at Dunkirk who were of color. I don't get it: it's a movie about the experiences of soldiers on that beach. It's not fucking about women. And the vast, vast majority of those soldiers were white, and all the soldiers went through the same horrible stuff.
/r/MensRights30/07/17 05:27 PM

It's more like women weren't allowed to ogle men, or it wasn't as accepted. Then everyone said "hey you know what it's no problem if you ogle men. you should, it's fun!" And for some reason some women found they just couldn't bring themselves to do it and now they are demanding that men can't ogle women. It all makes sense, you see.

This title is misleading though. I don't think being as specific as Murray seems to want is necessary, but it's not a big deal for him to point it out. /r/MensRights23/04/17 12:37 AM

That is the media's problem, and of course if this was written into law it would have to be more specific. I wasn't writing as though this was a policy ready for consideration.

The word sex is already complicated. Some people don't consider oral sex to be sex, at least not in the same context as intercourse.
/r/MensRights22/04/17 03:16 PM
107

Frankly, I think there are only two solutions, both semantic: Do away with the term rape and simply use "sexual assault" all the time. In law, just have forced to penetrate and forced penetration as equally bad, because they are. Redefine rape in the legal sense to mean unwanted penetration, because this includes both things.
/r/MensRights21/04/17 04:55 PM

More government money to go towards men's shelters, men's health, and awareness of these things (to allow the men who need those services to not feel embarrassed or ashamed). It's rare for a government official to push for this because feminists vilify them into the dirt even though women's shelters and services receive FAR more government money than men's shelters.
/r/MensRights18/04/17 06:08 PM

This is so much more important than it might seem. Men derive a lot of their self worth from their work, a result of both their reproductive biology as well as social evolution.

Sorry to tell you, but the men's rights movement is already drowning in bad reputations, just like feminism. There isn't a single men's rights activist in the mainstream with a good rep. I think Men's rights and feminism need to just let themselves die out for the same reason. Making fun of big red doesn't make an MRA radical. Feminists make fun of big red. She was ridiculous and every sane person understands that.

It's the immediacy of it that really gets me. Like they truly believe that any second any of the men around them could attack them and no one would care. Even the guy talking to her in the video he could just shut her down and no one would do anything. She even leans away from him. And it's more than that, it's a deep-rooted conspiracy where somehow they think that if they try to succeed there will be like a network of people all working together to make sure they fail, and anyone they appeal to…

If someone does say that providing coverage of birth control for men is holding them back, ask them why they think that. I think what you are saying is a feeling shared by most MRAs. But when we try to find common ground with feminists, they say we are being misogynist, holding them down by putting 'male problems' ahead of theirs. Even things as innocuous as what you are saying is more than enough to bring SJW armies down on you for having space in your brain to address the problems faced by men when 'women just face so much oppression' and crap like that.

Mental disability is a... huge spectrum that you aren't giving credit to. There are some people with autism who can comprehend what sex is, how consent works, and would like to be sexually active. It isn't the place of society to police the behavior of those people. People with VERY severe mental disabilities probably don't even really desire sex anyway, but we aren't talking about those people.

I dislike the ignorant idea that we have in US that foreskin is dirty and gross and boys need to be cut as soon as they are born. I'm sure it's in some history article somewhere, but I don't know where this idea came from. Even in the bible that isn't the reason you circumcise boys. Yes there are not many bisexuals I think, and VERY few Religious bisexuals, and a very small amount of those who are, I would say, 'put together.' It's hard to find any non-heterosexual in the US who will talk about …
/r/MensRights17/10/14 02:40 AM

Orthodox Christian, but no worries. I think some people take offense, and from the Orthodox Jews I know their grandparents are oversensitive (rightfully so, WWII and stuff) so their parents adopt that and so they do as well. Christians I think are better about it just because persecution of Christians was in more recent times from other sects, and any outside persecution is so ancient they don't care, but they just get defensive simply because they always expect to have to get in a fight over it…
/r/MensRights17/10/14 02:21 AM
1

I'm still religious, not as orthodox as my family, but it's a part of who we are. If I married a woman who was didn't want to circumcise a son I probably would not push it. (Bisexual, so if I marry a man he will probably not be religious just statistically speaking.)
/r/MensRights17/10/14 01:56 AM
1

And that is something someone not religious would say. I am not saying you should be circumcising your kids. I'm also not really here to be agreed with, since I know that won't happen. Just not really sure how FGM is related to circumcision in the context I am talking about. Either way, still a better issue to tackle through changing social norms (or just let them change on their own, because norms are always shifting) rather than make a big group of people resentful just because you're impatien…

/r/MensRights16/10/14 09:44 PM
1

I don't see it as barbaric, though. It's normal for them. It's dismissive to feel that because we are a first world country (US I'm assuming) traditions that are strange to us are automatically bad. Look a Thai people stabbing their faces. Yeah we would never do that here, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 09:43 PM
1

The difference between FGM and circumcision is great, both its purpose and who receives them. FGM isn't really a hallmark of orthodox Christians.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 09:42 PM
-2

I will just point out that it is unnecessary You obviously recognize that this is a view of someone not within the culture. Complications from infant circumcision in hospitals are very, very rare. And the sons wouldn't really fault their parents for it. We respect our parents and their decisions. Thank you for not being mean, at any rate.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 09:40 PM
1

See, the traditions you reference are way, way worse than circumcision for one, and also affect people outside your family and traditions.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 09:38 PM
-3

Yeah see this is what happened last time. You start out like you want to explain something, then attack the religion and culture I was brought up under. It's beyond ignorant.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 08:47 PM
1

Maybe, but I would rather this be changed socially than legally. I feel like we in the US have become way too dependent on laws to police the behavior of others. Convince the parents who are circumcising their kids that they shouldn't. Don't bully them with legal change, especially when it is about cultural and religious freedom.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 08:40 PM
-2

Circumcision is permanent and the decision for it shouldn't be made by someone else who only has vanity in mind. I am saying this in my head pleasantly, so don't take this the wrong way but this is something a non-religious person would say. Sure, it is about differentiating yourself from other people, but calling it vanity is unfair. There are tribes in the world that cut the faces of children or stretch their necks, among other physical modifications 'forced' on them when they are young. Again…
/r/MensRights16/10/14 08:14 PM
-8

So I am going to say, at this point after being berated in the other thread so I'm cautious here, that I grew up in a culture where your parents make lots of decisions for you, on top of the fact that they influence you permanently in lots of other ways anyway. (Live in the US, but pretty orthodox upbringing.) There's always an outlier, but all the boys were circumcised, and none of us had an issue with it. It is part of our religion, our culture, and we really just didn't care that sex might so…
/r/MensRights16/10/14 07:50 PM

I just... I would have my son circumcised probably unless my wife didn't want to. I already had a huge conversation on here with someone about this, but it just isn't detrimental the way people want it to be.

Did you personally have your foreskin removed in an accredited hospital as an infant and now have a bad sex life? And of course it isn't hard. Why would anyone report on successful infant foreskin removals? The denominational split between Jews and Christians hinges on whether or not Jesus was accepted as the savior. The Jews were His chosen people, they rejected him, blah blah blah. Despite this, Christians often want to close the gap between themselves and the original Jews hence the naming 'Jewish Christians." The Gospel of Timothy is not canon, so doesn't derail the religious reason for circumcision. Christians generally don't even consider what is written in it, (although most Christian univer…

The title to this post says it all. Yeah you should't be raped, but that doesn't mean many victims can't prevent the crimes against them with some simple, non-invasive steps. I would love to not be shot when I buy crack either, but it's a risk I take

Not that it should, but it can. Religion can be a good reason to do things, according to the US constitution, which you are free to debate on your own time. And 500 dudes of different races and backgrounds is a pretty strong case that when performed correctly by doctors at birth it is fine.

I do agree, but do you think sexual assault against men is equally as prevalent? Obviously I can never find any data on it, and my University only has data on all rape accusations, not actual confirmed assaults. (Plus they recently forced 3 guys to admit to sexual assault even though it wasn't, so there's that.)

Stories like this make me physically nauseated. I am aware that sexual assault against women is an issue, especially on college campuses, but what year did it start becoming a thing that the second a guy is accused of assault he is just automatically guilty? IT'S NUTS. People get so up in arms about it that judges and prosecutors are pressured into getting guilty verdicts no matter what, even though the accusation alone is enough to ruin their lives. And apparently both these people did it, but …

Essentially, right now I am seeing a lot of people say "I like uncut guys better" but not have any reason behind it. People get shamed if they do it for religious reasons, which is stupid. Basically people think being uncut is more exotic, at least in the US, because it was more common to be circumcised for a long time. The same way facial hair is in now because it wasn't before, and it will switch back eventually to people finding virtually hairless men more attractive. But yeah, not relevant t…

Most guys I know that were circumcised as babies were for religious reasons, and are okay with it as such. It isn't really about the benefits it can have, although there are some. I went to a Christian university, although I am not sure where I fall religiously. I lived in an all guys dorm and saw, I would say, 500 dicks. Everybody was circumcised (I would say almost all Christians circumcise their boy kids). Never saw a single deformed or damaged dick, and from the 3rd of us who were sexually a…

Of course, as does the fact that social backlash for getting circumcised later has weight as well. I really would rather focus on infant circumcision though, since that is what all the protests are about. You could if you want to be really frustrated look through my EXTENSIVE argument with that other guy.

You don't read what I saw. It is relevant to your question, but you will reject it because it isn't going to say "nerves do grow in penis." Nerves recover over time. You know this, I know this, everyone does. Sensation does as well. You have a very strange idea of how to apply information. http://nerve.wustl.edu/NerveInjury.pdf This is how nerves work. This is basically what you will find in any high school textbook. I know, you are upset that the entire foreskin won't regrow, but I have already…

Sure. I already said I don't know how to link text from other posts. I keep trying and it isn't working. And these questions don't have yes or no answers sometimes, because, for instance, the last once is yes and no, no when people don't take proper care of their penis and yes when they do. But, generally, No, but that isn't what I was trying to say before. I think you misinterpreted that in a way that we can't recover through text. Yes, I already explained this with the square rectangle metapho…

Wait, no it's not? You can't apply a conclusion on one group of people to another just because they don't have one. Formal logic as in like PHIL101 at every university. Also stop quoting all your same talking points. I already understand what your opinion is.
/r/MensRights15/08/14 07:18 AM

With formal logic yes, but in practice that is silly. What it should make you want to do is study specifically those people. In the meantime, you could work with anecdotal reports at hubs of circumcised people (Jesus college for example). I know, I know, you don't want to. Fine. The go study some circumcised babies all grown up and get back to me. Probably? Thought we weren't dealing with that. And again, perception is subjective. 'Probably' there could be different sensation, but see previous s…

We already talked about it. You rejected my interpretation, which is fine. But my opinion of it still stands. It seems to stem from your idea that since there isn't relevant data on babies, better just apply adult data. Yeah, obviously nerves can't grow where there isn't a, body? That is too base to even describe. The one study talked about damage to nerves in where the foreskin connects. I can't fancily quote, but especially in those situations the nerves should grow back. The detriments to tha…

Your own studies say these things. Dude I think you are getting really mad, and I am not sure I want to deal with that. It is 1 billion percent not logical to suddenly lump together two sets of humans that are different in every other way. You are assuredly intelligent enough to realize the differences between babies and adults. Do you want me to find you random, 20 year old evidence that all people are aware of that nerves grow back, babies can sustain and heal from injuries with absurd levels …

Yeah. I already saw this. The first section, the one relevant (and yet, entirely not relevant) to what I have been saying, is saying not statistically significant. The second section you have quoted, which yes, internet person I did read and comprehend, is NOT in relation to infant circumcision in any way, which is WHAT I HAVE BEEN CARING ABOUT SINCE. THE. They say that after they say it isn't statistically significant. That is directly contradictory, and thoroughly suspicious. You absolutely adore comparing penises to vaginas, however, in no universe is the size and shape of a penis that much different when circumcised. They don't get used to the loss. That is what I have been trying to say. It isn't a loss since they never lost it. Their brain doesn't even have to deal with it, same with kids born without a hand. And no, that would not be okay f…

Only two things at this point: Statistically significant doesn't just mean higher. Stub of his penis? Seriously? Are you circumcised or no, because I promise you the whole thing is there. And again, they aren't destroying responsiveness, although your studies don't address that. And you make perception of pleasure seem like such a bad thing. It's not adjusted, it just is. His brain doesn't know what to compare it too, so it just sets it at the highest bar all the same. It is NOT comparable to FM…

"There were no statistically significant differences in sexual drive, erection and ejaculation between circumcised and uncircumcised men (questions 1–4; data not shown). There was a slightly longer ELT in uncircumcised men at a mean (SD) of 12.7 (7.4) min than in circumcised men, at 10.9 (7.3) min (difference not statistically significant). There was a significantly higher ‘sometimes’ response in the uncircumcised men in masturbation frequency (question 6; P < 0.05), indicating that they have sl…

Have sex is a personal experience, that is inherently the issue with just measuring nerve reaction. Further, studies like the second one suffer from the fact that the test itself affects subjects; the interaction of the administrators and the measurements affects their behavior and thus there sensitivity, parallel to the way you don't feel pain the same way when angry. And I am not making it about personal experience, but since sex is subjective, there is relevance. Anyone I know who is mad they…

For some it is a religious choice, but it is also, with an argument of degree, a hygienic choice. Your decision to label vaccinations as beneficial is not shared by everyone. Legitimately, why do you, or whatever demographic you are a part of, get to decide what should and should not be allowed? The sexual lives of circumcised people are not highly detrimented because of their 'alteration,' as you say. It would be silly to think that the majority of circumcised adults are living sad lives of sex…

Yes, but that results in a different conclusion. I have read reports (not studies, so I can't be entirely sure, but it will do for a working idea) that sex without a clitoris can be an almost numb experience. I have not heard that being an issue with circumcised men, myself included.

Yes. However since there is no benefit at all to FGM, I came to the conclusion that it was entirely for the worst.

I am 24. And no worries. You can be upset. I agree that I don't think you got the point, which is fine I suppose. I guess another way is to ask yourself what about foreskin sex would be better? Nerve endings I guess, which then your body interprets as pleasurable sensation and releases all the good chemicals accordingly. However, that is still happening when you are having sex sans-foreskin. The whole point of my little thing was that it isn't about "You are still having pleasurable sex" it is t…

Despite what everyone says though, it is technically safer, hygienically speaking, to be circumcised. FGM has none of those benefits. And babies get routine nonconsensual surgeries all the time, even though I see your point. Babies don't need to consent to things. They are babies, which is why nature awarded them parents to make decisions for them.

I wrote this to some other people but I think it applies here as well. Here is why it basically doesn't matter. Sex, for most people, is the peak of base pleasure. However, your interpretation of that peak is subjective. It doesn't matter that it could have been different, because in that non-existent universe you would have a similar subjective interpretation of what peak-pleasure is. Chemically it may be different or whatever, but the experience itself is not subjectively differentiable from t…

Essentially, my baseline for existence as far as me dick is concerned is that it is circumcised. Sex wouldn't be 'more pleasurable' if I had foreskin because I don't have any and can't get it 'back'. A life where I do have it doesn't exist, and spending any time caring about that serves me in no way. I am trying to come up with a parallel to make this easier to understand. Do circumcised people feel that sex just isn't good enough the way it is without foreskin? I just don't think people with fo…

I feel like the complication you describe is substantially rare. And I understand that people want masturbation and sex to be better I guess, maybe I am just not focused enough on masturbating to notice that it could have been slightly better. In short I get it, but there are so many other things in life that if masturbating maybe isn't as awesome as it could h…

I have a question. For those of you who were circumcised at birth, do you really care that much? Do you think your overall quality of life is diminished in any way? I ask only because I was circumcised, and it just really hasn't mattered to or affected me in any substantial way.
/r/MensRights13/08/14 12:06 AM

Yeah. And that is how d is interpreted all the time, all over the place. You interpret it that way, sure, but sobby jurors and honestly just average people can interpret it the way I speak of. It needs to be more explicit, or specifically allow for sex while drunk. Also c is brought up ALL the time in relation to drinking but only is ever used to support the girl.

Honestly buddy it never matters what the law actually says, it matters how it gets interpreted and employed in the courtroom and how it affects the behavior of people in relation to the accused and the victims. I already said you are essentially right when it comes to the verbal, written law (federally, what you are saying is not consistent across states) but I don't care. I care that I see guys getting accused of rape for consensual sex, then tried for it, then being punished either legally or …

No, no, and yes. First, if she was drunk, the US legal system says she cannot consent. Technically the guy can't either, but in trials that is never how it goes down. Or worse, the incidents don't go to trial and the men get punished in other ways. At my University 3 students were just suspended over an incident where the girl literally eventually admitted it wasn't rape. They decided the boys made poor decisions anyway, even though they were all equally drunk and everyone consented. So yes, you…

I don't know why people are downvoting you to hell, you just aren't understanding, which is fine. On paper, maybe it isn't true, but in the US every jury sees this situation the way the picture portrays. If a woman and a guy get drunk and have consensual sex, and she decides later on it was rape, it was definitely rape. It is absurd. Even worse, if she tells her friends about it, they will probably say she was raped even though she wasn't. Especially on college campuses this is a hugely stupid i…
