He knows that if he says the "right words" you'll settle for what he's giving. You've stated what you're looking for, and he won't step up. Keep your standards and follow through, or you'll continue to be strung along. I would say move out. You are showing a commitment that he is not reciprocating. It sounds like you have a decent career and that you can support yourself. Don't fall into the 'time invested' trap. If you move out, and he doesn't chase you with a ring in hand, then you have your a…

I also agree on having the list for yourself. The guy who is right for you won't need it written out.

I'm definitely not a counselor, but if he wants to be affirmed or recognized for his efforts, maybe try putting sticky notes around with things you appreciate. Since he's home, maybe a sticky on the bathroom mirror appreciating keeping the kids clean and ready each day. A sticky on the fridge for prepping food. A sticky on the washer for doing laundry, etc. Maybe a nice letter. I always feel better about writing because I can take time to revise and say what I mean rather than heated words in an…

He sounds checked out. I'd recommend counseling. It helped us. It won't fix things on its own, but it'll bring awareness to both people's needs, and tools to address them. It will be up to you both to put them into practice.

Loved Nuvaring before kids. Made my periods light. Now have tubes tied and recently got mirena for other issues besides birth control. So far so good.

Maybe smile at the affection and say something like, "Hey babe/cutie/smoosh, let's continue this later tonight/tomorrow." It also might help if you found the time to initiate after putting him on hold. That way, he knows it's not a rejection, just a pause. Also, with my own kids, I do take the issue of consent pretty seriously. That would be a sit-down conversation for me.

Biggest thing for me right now is being direct. Making sure I'm clear with my husband about what I want from him. In the past, when I thought I was clear, I wasn't. I can't just say, "I'm hungry," because he sees it as an observation. I have to say, "I'm hungry. Let's get something to eat now." I've stated what I want and when. I can't just say, "I'm tired." Again, it's an observation. I have to say, "I'm tired. Will you please watch the boys for an hour while I rest?" It gives a specific reques…

I would add that a compliment when he does take charge is helpful, or a comment about him being the boss: "I like it when you (something authorotative)." "You're the boss." "How do you think I should handle this?" If he hasn't had practice at authority, it won't feel comfortable. If you're a good listener, you'll pick up on the times he speaks up, and you'll take his suggestions, encouraging him to do it more.

Already made stuffed squash, Turkey wraps, and taco bowls. I'll also be making spaghetti and meatballs, dinner salads with egg and tuna, Japanese style noodle bowls, and baked chicken with rice and carrots.

Tell him something you love about him every time you see him (ie the way he opens your door, how he shows love to your family, how he smiles, when he looks handsome) and be consistent. Daily affirmations go a long way. Be genuine and specific. Congrats on a great guy. Ask him what he would like to do when you go on dates, and then enjoy yourself while you learn about him. Encourage him to spend time with his friends. A lot of men get a lot less friend time when they have a lady. Be enthusiastic …

Maybe I've been out of the game too long, but what's wrong with stating clearly and kindly, "I'm not ready to go that far yet," if he tries. Why all the strategizing? If you aren't comfortable saying something like that, then you probably aren't comfortable enough to go to his house in the first place.

You seem to be doing a great deal. Part of that satisfaction you're looking for involves yours as well. What is he contributing?

I second the therapy. Find someone you both can work with. Humble yourselves. Allow advice and criticism. Listen to each other and your counselor. You both have to want it to work.

I remember listening to a doctor on the radio talk about fertility and age, and she said just because people (typo) live a lot longer than we used to doesn't mean we should wait a long time to have kids. She said peak time for a healthy child is late teens into 20s. 30 was elevated risk, with each added year increasing risk of complications and birth defects. Also, there is no right time for kids. When you're young, there's energy, but not much money. When you're older, there's money, but not mu…

My husband and I went to a marriage counselor with Christian values (we are Christian), who was willing to counsel Biblically or not. It is neutral ground to discuss issues, where the counselor is a middle ground of reason. The counselor is not there to solve your problems. He/she is there to offer tools, exercises, books, and an ear for you to work through your problems. The key is that if one has checked out, it won't work. You have to both want the marriage to work. We hit a major rough patch…

Something I always recommend to new moms are the mam brand glow-in-the-dark pacifiers. You don't need to turn on a light if the baby is crying for it at night.

It's just sidebar stuff. I have popups blocked, but can't with those. I can't imagine too many people want to click on those things.

Is anyone else getting a seriously uncomfortable number of nasty pimple/ingrown close-up ads when looking at just about anything online? It makes me gag. I want them to go away, but I can't seem to find a way.

I was home for 5 years. I definitely had my off days, and yes, I did enjoy making a home for my family during that time. I did appreciate the "omw" calls because there were a few things I knew would bother my husband. Just as he worked his job, I considered the home my job.

I have two boys. A friend still wanted to throw me a shower for the second, and I said it could be a diaper/wipe shower.

Simply put, you have chosen him, and he has not chosen you in return. You cannot expect change just because of a label like engagement or marriage. The behavior is not there. Not only is he hurting you emotionally, but he is also endangering you physically with his infidelity. You are not married, and you would not need to go through an arduous divorce to end now. Find someone who chooses you. He is taking advantage of your endless forgiveness.
