wife took the kids and left, nothing the police can do its a civic matter, she contacted child aid services. Other than lawyering up, Do I call CAS? anyone been in this situation what my next move?I went through this. She can’t do it but you’ll have to get a lawyer and take it to court and get the kids back unless she returns them voluntarily. Wife took kids and left for 5 weeks. Only reason it took so long to get them home is because courts were closed for Covid but once it was reviewed by the judge she made her bring the kids home immediately. I called the police but they didn’t do anything. Even Refused to do a wellness check at the location I knew she was at. I just wanted confirmatio… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/03/22 02:31 AM
Switching Lawyers Mid DivorceSo you’re saying don’t tell him. I would rather not really. Guy hasn’t returned my calls and emails from weeks. I have interviewed others And I’m set on a one. I get a good feeling and he just has a real down to earth vibe. Thank you. I wasn’t sure how the processes worked. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/04/21 02:51 AM
Looking For More AdviceThank you. This is my thinking exactly. I have the 50/50 decision making and the 45/55 time is so close it won’t matter after a while. The trial will be ugly, etc. I plan to have another attorney review. But this is my leaning. I do love hearing everyone’s thoughts. And believe me, I would drop a million bucks on my kids without a thought but in this case I could walk out with less. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/21 06:05 PM
Looking For More AdviceMy wife doesn’t work and refuses to. At this point I’m the “monied space” so I pay even if it’s 50/50. Silly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/21 06:01 PM
Looking For More AdviceThanks. He actually is a dad and I want to fight. My problem is not just the absurd amount of money 20-40k for the trial, it’s whether I’ll get less in the end. Meaning custody. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/21 05:59 PM
Advise and ConfusionLet me ask you guys something. We’re close to a trial. Not great and I don’t want to go there but we’re far apart. It would take time for a new attorney to catch up. Could I ask for a delay? Is that something possible? I just can’t see signing an agreement I’m not only unhappy with but also didn’t fight for. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/21 02:39 PM
Advise and ConfusionThanks. It’s been a brutal year and the ongoing court motions have made my life hell. I do not see a therapist but I’ve been thinking about it. Maybe someone familiar with divorce? In the past I haven’t had great experiences, just never found one I clicked with. It would probably help. I too get emotional, not so much outwardly but anxiety, depressed, ever. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/21 06:47 AM
Advise and ConfusionThank you. You’ve pretty much nailed my thoughts. It’s hard to say. He’s one a bunch of battles but it’s also been a bunch of frustration too. Doesn’t return calls for days and if ever. Same goes for emails. I don’t over load him. I also get all paperwork late. I just got a stack of discovery papers I never knew was issued and have a weekend to get them together. I spoke to another attorney who is “male focused” and said a lot of things I feel, it’s 2021. 50/50 is the default. We’ll see, I’m mee… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/21 06:38 AM
