Read the article. They are practically screaming the “it takes a village” mantra of Marxists.

Yep, exactly. Smug intellectuals arguing the nuclear family was a mistake and that we need communism in order to heal “our departure from extended , multigenerational families.”

“I’ve almost enjoyed breaking bones” mental illness confirmed

It’s not that people want a more luxurious lifestyle. It’s that the federal reserve / monied elite purposefully engineered monetary policy to attack the nuclear family in unison with their cultural agenda. The dollar loses 2-3% value every year. So if your income doesn’t increase by at least 3% every year, you lose money.

Well that’s much better than being strung along by an egomaniac, surely. It’s easy to use stereotype to fill in the blanks via the internet. Either way, I’d be wary of completely reducing yourself to be “what he wants you to be,” simply because that’s not going to impress anyone, acting totally inauthentic like you’re wearing a mask. Do what you can to show that you’re mature/what he wants etc but again I would refrain from treating him like a god/guru figure because how is someone supposed to r…

I’m sure you have that impression, but there’s absolutely no recipe on earth that creates a more self-absorbed and egotistical personality than being 22, (which means you essentially have zero life experience) and being in possession of a lot of money, and the perception one is “high status.” Real maturity takes heartbreak. It takes the death of a loved one. It takes grinding, painful failure and the forced realization of deep, genuine humility. It means being knocked flat on your back by life a…

Lol, right? From reading this sub for awhile it seems like the default advice is “dump him” nearly 9/10 times. Amazing how much assumptions pple make given a “he hasn’t texted me for a few days.” “Omg!! What a spoiled child! How dare he ignore you!!! Dump his unreliable ass! Trust my expert anonymous opinion on persons I’ve never met and only heard briefly described!!”

I don’t feel attacked or gaslighted. I probably misread your tone. Seems you were being genuine in offering a view you thought I might be unaware of. However when I first read it, it just seemed like you were adding a footnote with the intention of “careful, not all men are the same! Don’t be sexist!” Or some sort of finger wagging.

Why do you feel the need to define an exception to what is obviously a generalized statement? The subtext of you even making that reply is that without your disclaimer: what I’m saying is some sort of damaging, sexist, awful bigoted stereotype. Which ultimately implies you gaslighting me, as I have said nothing bigoted of any sort.

My point was I don't think any guy who is even vaguely clued in to the radical nature of modern feminism is going to be disappointed his girlfriend finds the ideology off-putting. I think it's a bit of an assumption to think he can't deal with the "label." That being said, claiming ideology as identity is immature and unattractive for nearly anyone. So I agree with top comment, just bring up the ideology point by point

Right? The only idea that's funny is the notion men actually find "feminist women" attractive in the first place. OPs man will probably be relieved and hyped to hear you've outgrown if. He's teasing you to have the satisfaction of hearing you admit how radical that ideology has become. I would absolutely relish for one of my ex's to call me with an epiphany moment of how much unnecessary bullshit she allowed feminist ideology to cause between us. There were other reasons too but you know, that'd…

That wasn’t my intention although I see how my tone reads like that. I meant to emphasize the need to communicate one’s needs and desires before making a wholesale judgement regarding the guys character based on a sort of routine frustration of planning dates. I’m sure we’ve all been there where we’ve been to our favorite place a dozen times and it just gets stale. Giving the guy a heads up that she wants him to put some effort into planning their dates I don’t think is too out of line.

Those are OPs own words. It sounds like she really has trouble asserting herself and stating her own basic needs. Even moreso given it is her first serious relationship. I’m very familiar with the ideas here of leadership in a man being desirable. Being able to healthily assert yourself + communicate is a basic requirement of any relationship. I’m not degrading OP, but the poor quality of advice I’m seeing in these other comments. Telling her she isn’t compatible with her man even though she sta…

Seriously. All these “not compatible” comments are sad af. The real sign of immaturity is that OP is making a reddit thread about “how do I tell him?:(((“ Just fucking tell him... holy shit

From what I’ve read before it basically says that men have a more intense immune response than women, because in primordial times men would usually be out hunting for several days at a time. The theory I read is that higher fever/inflammation would prompt them to shelter-in-place / recover while out away from the fire and protectiveness of the campsite. Women who would be at the camp rearing kids/etc didn’t have the same stimulus to their immune systems to completely shutdown the body and recove…

Essentially, I’m saying you were protecting your ego by making it seem like this is a matter of “learning to be less dominant” instead of “learning to be less petty.” Do you see how dramatic the difference is there? “My wife forgot the alarm clock because she is purposefully attempting to undermine and disrespect me” Vs “My wife is forgetful and it irritates me” See how dramatic the difference is ? Using high caliber, serious, balls to the wall terms like “respect” “dominance” “trust” just frame…

Reading this sub is always very interesting.. I can’t help but notice the level of drama you’re using to describe the whole situation is sky high. I mean look at your language. “I need to respect him,” “be less dominant” “demonstrate my trust,” My god woman... it’s not normal for a man to threaten to walk away from his newborn and nursing wife, like at all. I’d be willing to bet your own proclivity for dramatic language is what put that idea in his head. Try cutting down your ego (which inflatin…

As long as you frame it as “wanting to rekindle the flame” and admit your faults and how you want to fix them, I don’t see any downside.

For the record I agree with putting the foot down, I was just recommending it's done alongside a certain sensitivity. Supporting him in a practical way and really sitting down and forcing him to be vulnerable about his self esteem are different you know. Especially if he is wanting to mask those issues with escapism.

People don't sit down and do something for six hours straight because it's a healthy outlet for them. I don't care how much you love games and stuff, you get bored with something after 2-3 hours. Depression is very common to last for years even especially grief driven depression. So after a certain point, sure, cut him off, but the question is how to help him; Empathy. Refusing to work isn't a real life option and any functioning adult understands that, so it's more likely he's nonfunctional tha…

That's a bit pessimistic. It sounds like OP husband is just depressed. Video games and escapism are just a way to distract himself from gnawing, existential despair and emptiness. Just be glad he isn't turning to drugs or liquor! The real solution is making him feel valuable and worthy again. He isn't looking for work because his self esteem is telling him he's not worth a good job. OP should be very careful not to reinforce that already negative self esteem where he feels like a failure by maki…

Oh I'm not seeking to like, tell you you've been manipulated, just that in a general sense, along with the spirit of the OP, that women are more susceptible to be politically manipulated with "think of the children" type arguments, that more often than not, are simply power grabs.

You realize you're conflating socialism and progressivism - a social safety net is not a "socialist" idea. Socialist economic systems are based around the elimination of private property. It's about public ownership of all property. You get assigned a house, a car, and a job by the government. Or maybe you don't. The little income you make is taxed to "upkeep" government property, and anything left for yourself buys you food or maybe a bottle of booze. Socialism is a literal nightmare that doesn…

I guess the mods here don't like me hinting at a political tangent: but let me clarify what I mean: If you look up the Oedipus Complex, it's not a hard science thing, but insofar as it is based on a myth it represents something pretty profound about the human mind, particularly the male mind. Babies are born knowing that their mothers body represents their survival. Their mother is literally the most important thing in their entire psychic domain. This is why if a baby chick sees you when it fir…

Men want a strong life partner they can trust with a briefcase full of money. It's not about being a submissive housewife but a strong life partner. They just don't want to risk marrying a woman who is gonna demascluinize their sons or fly off the handle one night and divorce them because Rachel Maddow so and so insert outrage divorce your husbands fight the patriarchy!!

Wait, so he is staying out all night at strip clubs and college parties... but you're gonna dismiss that as stress? You're absolutely right the problem will never be solved by forever seeking validation on being "latin enough" (or maybe it is Hispanic, whichever) The problem is that he (first and foremost) he isn't respecting you - and on top of that he does not respect your race / heritage , that just sort of compounds it. Regardless of your stance on the issue, using stereotypical thinking / c…
