You’re actually spot on! He has ADHD and is medicated for it but by a regular doctor not a psychiatrist. I’ve brought up the idea of therapy to him a couple times because I fully agree with you, it’s definitely a mental health issue which is why I feel so bad for even considering leaving. He was very resistant each time I brought it up, I tried to bring it up as gently and in a very non-judgmental way but he was really offended. He actually suggested that I see my therapist more often because he…

I go back and forth on this one. My initial thought was “no” because of the daily mental gymnastics we go through together is very tiring but I would (and do!) miss the old version of him, greatly. I wish he felt comfortable going to a professional to talk through these big feelings so I don’t have to lose hope of the possibility of having his old self back just yet.

I really needed to read this today. I think low self esteem keeps me with men who aren’t actually great, they just put up a very thin illusion that they are by being really nice to me and spoiling me once a month and I put up with the ugly the rest of the month. I’m working it on….or trying to.

Oh my gosh thank you!! I should try the a-line style! I have been really hesitant to try new things because a lot of the popular styles are either too high waisted so it comes up to my boobs or the lengths of the shirts hit me at an awkwardly spot that’s too long to look good unless they’re petite style.

I’m still experimenting with what looks good on me. If anyone is roughly 5’2 with long legs that are very disproportionate to my short torso, help me out please 😅

Sometimes making small changes overtime leads to bigger results. If you do the grocery shopping maybe try to influence his diet by only purchasing certain foods? Everyone likes waking (kinda?) maybe try asking him to go on walks with you and the baby. Every husband will respond differently to verbally saying stuff about their health so maybe you can just make it more about you instead. I’m not sure if this makes sense but instead of “you should exercise more” you could say “come on a walk with m…

Hi! I’m 24, I’ll be your internet friend! For me, it has been scary opening up to people about my beliefs. I’ve lost friends over it but I’ve found a great community in this sub. As far as meeting people IRL, I haven’t met many people who are like me IRL because I live in the New York metropolitan area but I’ve had some small success at a random tea shop, a doggy daycare, a small group of women my age who nanny, and a craft store. All very random occurrences. 😂

It just seems like food replaced the anxiety meds and I’d argue this is a much much better situation than before! However, I want to validate how weight gain can cause anxiety and trigger all sorts of other negative mental health problems. My advice to you is to just be gentle with yourself and acknowledge how far you have already come. Also recognize that you are not alone and this is not even your fault! The reason a lot of people struggle with food is because food releases a lot of dopamine i…

My eating disorder therapist told me that if I let go of my traditional values, then my eating disorder would simply ✨get better✨. They loved ignoring the fact that my mother has NPD and therefore I was subjected to 22 years of narcissistic abuse. … definitely had nothing to do with it (sarcasm).
