My mom used to use the term " boys will be boys. " when I played video games too long with my friends. Seeing how it's being used now just disgusts me. But if I rephrase it in their language the only acceptable term is " Boys should be girls." Yeah their shame tatic doesn't disgust me anymore.

Hiding the fact would lead to questions about your past & no one wants a junkie for a wife. Being upfront about it when it eventually comes up is the best option. Hiding the fact and him eventually discovering it later would make him feel like he was being manipulated which would make the realtionship toxic since you are looking to get married in a couple of years.
