I remember seeing that here before, it's actually on the side bar under "Gender Studies is Nonsense". Really good discussion in that thread for people who watched the documentary (which is fantastic).

It's normal to say it in america pre university (<18). If anyone older than that says they got to 3rd base, it's pretty safe to assume they don't have adult social skills.

After living in Europe for the last month, I have never felt more happy to be an American.

As much as you feel the tension in knowing that you could potentially do better with increased gym time and a higher salary on the way, so does this 'unicorn'. This imbalance in potential SMV is what is partially driving these behaviors from her (the cooking, constant sex, acting incredibly perfect) in hopes of not losing you in the future. There is no guarantee that this sort of thing will continue in future years as she becomes more and more content with the situation with the backing of marri…

I'm only 20 so I don't think its right for me right now. I'm too worried about the potential fertility side effects down the road if I ever do want kids, you know.

Ah, I see. The way you wrote it made it sound like you went to a shady doc who wrote you a legit perscription or something like that. Well done.

Thats pretty funny that you used test just so you could bench your own body weight. Kind of like taking an atomic bomb to a small pond to kill a single fish. I've reached those levels for strength (weight is 155: 1rm bench is 170, squat 250, deadlift 320). Do you think I should just focus on aesthetics instead of strength now?

This is probably the best and most stoic response I have read. Thank you.

I know there is no reason to be, that is why I asked if anyone had gone through something like this before and how they managed it. And if you feel less confident, are you not actually less confident?

Call me what you want, but I'm not lifting to get girls. I'm lifting to improve myself and become a better version of me, to go where I know I can. I am simply noting that my confidence about myself and yes my confidence in respect to girls has fallen, and I don't like that.

I'm definitely not going to stop lifting, that much is certain. I don't quite understand it myself.

You're absolutely right. I'm just so results driven that its tough for me to adopt that kind of thinking. How did you manage to deal with it personally when you were in these stretches?

I don't think so, I've made a conscious effort to improve my wardrobe over the past few months, got a job as a tutor for athletes at my school, applied and got into a study abroad program at Oxford where I am currently at, and stopped smoking. I think you're right about looking at myself in the mirror, its becoming a terrible habit and isn't productive or doing me any favors. Perhaps just taking a photo every first day of the month and saving it would be much more productive. I hope I can manage…

The problem is that paradoxically my overall confidence has fallen the more I lift because I become more and more dissatisfied with where I am at.

I look in the mirror and all I can do is compare myself to my potential and how far away I am from it. Its disheartening in a way.

Maybe to some degree, but the real goal is to improve myself and I think lifting is perhaps one of the most important things to that. However, my confidence has seemingly fallen instead of risen despite the gains I have made, and it is impacting my "game" with girls as a result. Seeing that I haven't even been lifting for 1 year yet consistently, I should just heed that Rome wasn't built in a day.

While I accept that I am never going to reach Mr. Olympia standards, that doesn't mean I'm not going to improve drastically with less than a year of experience under my belt. Also, its comparing me to myself that is the issue.

My dad who served in the military and does martial arts told me about this, its very applicable to everyday things as well.

Seriously, thank you mods for maintaining a vision for TRP. It really is quite outstanding considering how much things are stacked against the sub, but you guys always seem to figure it out.

This a question I don't think TRP can answer. There isn't a right or wrong thing to do, it is only what you think is appropriate.

I don't blame women at all for riding the carousel, if I were given the opportunity to hook up with a basically unlimited number of hot girls I would certainly take it. It doesn't mean I would accept or approve of it for an LTR, but how can I judge my sister if we are basically trying to do the same thing they are doing? Ultimately TRP is about accepting the way things are and trying to improve yourself, so even though I know that her actions now may harm her in the long run, I don't think its m…

Damn dude you are so spot on. Unlike me, my sister managed to break into the popular crowd in high school (she is a senior now) which basically means that she drinks, parties and sleeps around pretty frequently. Some of my old buddies from lacrosse told me her number count and even for an 18 year old, I think that she too might have to divide by a factor of 20. Funny enough, she has asked me on a couple of occasions if I could set her up with a rich guy when she turns 26 so she can marry him. I …

About a year ago I left my comfort zones but now I feel like I'm falling back into them. Thank you for giving me the words.

Yeah dude, you had fun at one party. That doesn't mean you've "swallowed" anything. Also, "tatted up with a nose ring". Not a sweet look.

Although I'm sure there are many men who have children who aren't actually theirs, I'm sure that the 33% statistic is not representative of the entire population. Men who are doubtful that the child is theirs are more likely than those who are not doubtful to get the test in the first place, thus some amount of sampling bias is taking place.

I have a couple of really beta friends in my fraternity, but it isn't my responsibility to tell them how to live, and if they wanted my advise they know where to find me. One dude is basically in love with this one girl and orbits harder than the moon. This girl sleeps in his bed while he does homework on the couch, always comes around for "resources", and is FUCKING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS EX-BEST FRIEND. Its absolutely ridiculous that its happening but do you know what, me trying to interve…

As someone who is currently in a fraternity, I can't comprehend all of this anti fraternity hate that the media loves to ramp up. Most of these people were never in fraternities and are relying on old tropes to form their outdated and biased opinions. We're in the year 2014, fraternities live in the same PC, litigation fueled culture as the rest of the United States. Throwing a simple "south of the border" themed party yields cries of racism and the legal penalties for potential hazing and alcoh…

Slow down everyone, there has been a lot of talk about "male disposability" but that does not give the full picture. Have we all forgotten about the crazy type of girl who becomes bat shit loco when you break up with her? As a real example, a friend of mine introduced me to this girl at a party but she had an abusive loser boyfriend. A month later he breaks up with her and she calls him over 20 times when she hears that he is involved with a different girl now. Completely insane. I think how har…
