I didn't hear about minimalism until later life but once I found it I felt comfortable just being myself. It's a very powerful thing to bring into our lives. It's very freeing. Just to have a few high quality things in your life that you can use daily without all the garbage lying around - and all the extra work that brings. It allowed a simple routine to come into my life. Same concept applies to food, health and friends too in my opinion.

The distinction l would make from meditation is you are not trying to get into a state. It’s knowing there is something out there and let it come for you. Many people can’t practice silence, l struggle with it, so l see many people chanting or speaking in tongues thinking that will get them to a meditative state but it is quite the opposite, that stuff gets in the way.
