Interesting, I'll have to read up on this. I've always been stumped by this behavior so it would be cool to understand it better.

Guys focusing on lifting weights forget to lift themselves up too.

For sure, it's always something to consider when interacting with a woman you don't know.

Hey, you took a shot and that's what counts! Doesn't it feel great (even if she said no)?

Maybe it's a messaging issue since you guys do better in person. Have you tried calling instead?

Agreed. A decent watch also improves your confidence, and I say that as a woman who loves a bulky guy watch.

Also, don't bother responding, I won't be engaging with you anymore. Sounds like you just want attention.

Stop policing what I can or can't write. You don't get to dictate what I share in terms of experiences. If you don't like what I said, ignore it. People like you are seriously the worst. No one cares if you don't like it if someone shares experiences that are not their own. The world doesn't revolve around you and your likes and dislikes. Also, I'm not borrowing anything, I'm sharing a couple friend's experiences because I recently talked to them about this exact subject, so it was still fresh o…

Oh, I didn't realize that other women's experiences didn't count just because they're my friends' experiences. You sound salty. I'm not telling men to do anything. I'm literally sharing a few reasons women are not feeling a guy, but go off, dude. Btw, I didn't write that I didn't have experiences with this myself. Please don't put words in my mouth. On top of that, way to assume things about me. I have in fact dated men in the past, but nice try. "I would have respected it when you did not write…

Okay, this is bugging me, sorry. Woman* It's up to the individual and their own reasons. Some women want to take it slow to really get to know their date better and see if they click before jumping into bed with them. Some weed out fuck-bois (sp?) this way. Someone that just wants to get into a woman's pants isn't going to stick around if she starts slowing things down. There are so many reasons. Lot's of explanations online: https://www.evanmarckatz.com/blog/dating-tips-advice/why-does-the-woma…

Or you know, each woman is an individual with her own preferences?

I know plenty of women that were into their date but still wanted to take it slow. So, getting too physical too fast was a no-go for them. A mature woman will make it known that she wants to slow down. If the guy respects her, he will, if not, then no second date.

I'm a woman that dates other women but I have good friends that have shared their dating stories with me. A couple of them have told me that one big reason they didn't pursue a second date was because their date was coming off too strong. Getting all touchy-feely when a woman is clearly not into it, disrespecting boundaries, trying to convince the woman to come to their place even after she already said no, etc. Slow down!

Keep your expectations low but your confidence high. No disappointment in the end if what you assumed doesn't pan out. Most importantly, have a good time and be yourself. Merry Christmas!

This looks like an awesome list! I just started with Make Your Bed! For anyone that has a library card: You can find E-versions (Kindle, etc) of books through your local library site and check them out; for free, of course. They have thousands available. I just checked out Make Your Bed.

Also, this quote from the article above is great: "Why not just assume everyone who makes strong eye contact with you is attracted until proven otherwise?"

Here is an interesting article on the levels of eye-contact: https://markmanson.net/the-levels-of-eye-contact

Eye contact isn't just a sign of sexual interest. It's also something people do to show that they're paying attention to the person they're talking to. It's hard to tell if she likes you or not from eye contact alone. Both her holding eye contact and looking away could mean that she likes you. If she looks away, she could be shy but still be interested in you. She might also be anxious which would make her look away as well. Eye contact can be a cultural thing as well. Westerners see people who …

Sometimes you take one step forward and it feels like you take two steps back, but even then, it feels amazing that you took a step in the first place.

What I've learned throughout the years that if someone has to tell you how nice they are, well, it usually means that they're not so nice. On the topic of actual nice guys being overlooked, I think that the qualities they have are great but it would also benefit them to be more confident and assertive. Being a pushover, a placemat, or a "yes man" are some of the things that a lot of women don't find attractive in a potential partner. Women want someone that's nice, has good intentions, is caring…

I sent her a message telling her that if she's not interested she should just say so. Kind of a shitty thing to do to ignore someone like that out of nowhere.

Still waiting. We did just slightly chat through her fb post about cooking. Maybe she just sucks at replying to her messages? Maybe it's her way of saying she's lost interest but wants to be friends? I know many guys are after her at the moment, maybe one of them got her attention. If she just wants to be friends, I'm cool with that. Plenty of fish in the sea. I'll just play it cool and do my own thing. If she "changes her mind" I don't know how I'll react. May just tell her how she made me feel…

As a woman, I disagree. We do care, but as other posters have mentioned, it's best to work your way up to deep convos. It's better to start on a lighter note. It's all about that balance, imo.

Just happened to me too. We initially hit it off one night and even face-timed for 4 and a half hours recently. I was the one that said goodnight cause I was falling asleep by that point, but we could have easily kept chatting until dawn- we just clicked and our convos were interesting. She sends me a morning text about how awesome I am, etc., I replied with a similar text back and then sent one inviting her to go hiking...and nothing. One week goes by and she sends me a message saying she had s…
