Don't fidget. If it itches, don't scratch it (exception: your balls, if you announce first, "my balls itch"). Don't tap your fingers or your feet, rub your hands together, and for fuck's sake don't dig around in your pockets like you're playing pool. Imagine you are hunting, or are in the military out in the field. Those nervous fidgety behaviors either leave you hungry or get you killed. Women (and other men) know this instinctively. They don't say, "that guy fidgets and he's unattractive becau…

If you make 125k and she makes 110k, it's a non issue. Be smart, as you've laid it out, and you'll come through it okay. The men who get divorce raped are the ones whose wives don't work, or who make substantially less money, work part time, take care of kids, etc. The vast majority of this advice won't help them. 50/50 is getting raped if you earned 90-100% of the money.

I'm imagining the #1 comment, if this were gender reversed, would be "man up".

Yeah. Give it a few months so no one sees that they're the exact same post.

Don't really want to link to avoid complaints of brigading, but the title is "My [24F] partner [27M] wants to quit his job and become a SAHF but we have no kids and he hates chores" and it's current #1 on relationships

Good info... but read the last five lines of the OP.

Thanks for being the first person to get it! Although it was a really long thing to ask people to read.

Read the last five lines... it's a rewrite from a post in relationships. I switched the genders for discussion purposes.

You gotta read the whole thing. Or forget it and skip to the end, read the last five lines.

You forgot to offer to buy her drinks and dinner as many times as it takes for her to appreciate you.

Every other Friday night, so long as she's not on her period.

Hover hand on his own wife. Ouch.

My SO's brother has been married for something like 13 years. Didn't want kids, ever. Agreed with the wife, before marriage, no kids. She was doing BC - they agreed for him to not get snipped because she was hoping she might someday change his mind. You know where this is going. Hubby turns 40 last year. Wife is a couple years younger. Hubby retired from the military, 20 years in, getting a pension and starting a new career. Wife gets pregnant. She decided the baby was more important than the ma…

Women are awful to each other. It is cold blooded and ruthless. Female friends treat each other more horribly than male enemies. Example: I'm a nationally-ranked elite athlete in a very very very minor sport. Couple friends of mine just got married who are both also top athletes in the same sport. Several of us from the sport were invited... almost all guys. There were a couple of females - as I pointed out to my gf, who were friends of the groom, not the bride. Almost all of the top men in the …

Not there isn't some value here, but I'm glad we've moved past the "if you drown in the river, you must have been guilty" phase of criminal justice.

Exactly. Pretty women think they will be pretty and have it easy forever.

Agreed entirely. The woman is demonstrating AWALT, but that doesn't make the guy a prizewinner. What did the guy do that was so great, for him or for anyone? For a fling, he signed himself up for 18 years of child support and having to deal with this particular woman, not to mention some responsibility of parenting (even if he's only doing it for two weekends a month). I'm not seeing that he's any kind of role model, RP or otherwise. Although I do enjoy watching a woman get faced with the hard r…

Well said. It hurts both of you to get pregnant unexpectedly, especially when you're young. And the responsibility belongs to both parties. Not just the girl. Not just the guy. One interesting note on the original linked item... the guy she had the kid with cheated on the woman he was actually with to knock up the girl writing the screed. Let me tell you something - someone who will cheat on someone else to be with you, will cheat on you. Women don't get this and it is fascinating to see in acti…

Agreed. It's easy to say you don't like women over 25 when you're young. When you get to age 30 or 40+, you learn to appreciate a girl who has worked to keep herself attractive and recognizes that it won't last forever. The ones who got married at 25 have often let themselves go by age 35.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
