Another way to put it is subcommunication. It only takes a few seconds for people to get a pretty solid first impression of someone. It can happen even before a person says anything. But basically it means act confident. Take up space, move slowly, speak loudly and slowly, make a lot of eye contact etc.

From briefly Googling it I saw some results that said it was biological. But yeah I'm not sure exactly how much of it is biological versus behavioral.

Women also outlive men by 6 years on average, which I would say is an extreme advantage that certainly narrows the advantage men have or perhaps even gives women the edge. Though I agree, there are a lot of not so fun things about being a woman that most men take for granted.

Judging from the first sentence of OP, I'm guessing they want to discuss the average person in their early 30's (i.e. filtering out older/younger people). Though I think the average person in their 30's is still probably overweight in most places.

Yeah that quote makes sense. I guess I was responding to things like the title (e.g. RED PILL KILLED MY GAME should probably be more like THE THINGS I FOCUSED ON IN RED PILL KILLED MY GAME, TRP itself didn't kill it since everything you discussed here is a part of TRP). You are right but everyone speaks like they're seduction connoisseur and what they say is 100% right. You're not going to get any arguments there haha. The main contributors here are full of themselves. Which is maybe expected in…

After skimming, I think you are basically repeating a bunch of things commonly said in the red pill while claiming to have a unique take on things (e.g. "display interest directly" and "reading is no substitute for experience" are very common pieces of advice here and Models is a very common book recommendation [and it is also definitely a book on seduction... maybe just not in the way you think about it]). I think what you do not understand is that the red pill is a very large and varied group …

Don't take the matephor too literally. Rams were only used to paint a picture. He literally argues that his view is the ultimate nature of man and the true way to look at things from an evolutionary perspective. What evidence did he provide for that if not this? Of course there is none really because it is not true. You can be monogamous with different people at different times. But I guess I could have said polygyny too, which AFAIK also was never very popular except after agriculture arose and…

Hmm, I would have said the exact opposite haha. He compares us to rams and bulls instead of our closest relatives (chimps and bonobos, who do not really act the way he describes). Then he discusses everything from a monogamous point of view while monogamy is generally only considered to have risen in dominance around the invention of agriculture, which was relatively recent evolution-wise. This post seems exactly like modern gender dynamics transposed into the past. Not to say everything in it i…

Yeah that's my thoughts too. Nobody should be surprised if they focus on shallow relationships and then feel hollow. Quality relationships are one of the main predictors of happiness for humans. Which isn't to say you have to commit to women or even that your quality relationships necessarily have to be with women.

Eh, my looks are middling IMO and I do fine. Yeah if you want to be the top of the food chain you need to look good, but average looking blokes do well all the time. Especially if you workout and dress reasonably.

The issue is you are generalizing too much. Some women are similar to what you describe but there are plenty that aren't. You just have to find them. To try to change your view, I would word it differently. IMO "Men should not make dating one of their highest priorities" is a more reasonable view to hold. Just live your life well and go on dates when the opportunity arises. If the woman turns out to be like one you described in your post, end things with her and try again later with someone else…

IMO I'm pretty humble and I got laid two days ago. It's just that I'm also social, I work out, I have my life mostly together, and I'm not afraid to ask women out and escalate with them. And the guy I know that is the best with women isn't an asshole. Quite the opposite actually, he's more the type of person to give you the shirt off his back if you ask him. He's just incredibly fun to be around, he's extremely confident/charismatic, and he does not care what women think of him so he isn't afrai…

Yeah there are a bunch of ignorant buffoons in here. Picking fights with people at bars is a good way to end up hospitalized, disabled, or worse for no good reason. It's foolish.
/r/TheRedPill28/02/23 04:17 PM

Yeah, exactly. What I wrote about also follows the three steps I use for my mindfulness practice. First, be aware of your thoughts and feelings. Second, accept them fully. And third, choose to focus on something helpful instead (which is the step I was focusing on here). Each step is very difficult, very nuanced, and requires a lot of practice, but so far it has been an incredibly useful tool for me in general.

Something related I have been using in a lot of situations is to "decide" to be excited about a situation instead of anxious. For example, it's pretty easy to feel anxious about doing a heavy set of squats in the gym, but instead I chose to focus on how excited I am to see how many reps I can get in and to see how strong it will make me later on. In social situations it is easy to feel anxious about talking with people and to worry about how they perceive you, but instead I have been choosing to…

Agreed. In my experience it's much better to be with women who appreciate who you as you authentically are than to try to convince or trick women that don't. Though of course relationships are going to involve compromise and tailoring your actions to who you are dating to some degree.

Yeah thinking about it, there are a lot of successful people at my FAR from classy running club (lawyers, dentists, high ranking generals etc.). You can meet them anywhere. Though if you want to bond around it, I would guess places like you listed would be best.
/r/TheRedPill12/02/23 12:42 AM

Put yourself in social situations where you can meet like minded people, consistently attend those events (so you see the same people multiple times), and start asking them to do things outside of the event if you get along. I have no idea where ambitious, successful people meet, but maybe networking events or at some more exclusive clubs?

The goal is to work on your habits and routines until those things become who you are. At that point it won't feel like you are faking those behaviors anymore. Though I will also say I do not recommend trying to cultivate any traits that you do not admire or enjoy. In my experience it's much better to be someone you enjoy being, even if it means less women are attracted to you. Though most of what you just described can be summed up as confidence, which I think almost everyone should want.

I agree. I've tried the approach a lot of people here recommend (just using discipline) and it just made me miserable and I'd still end up falling back into my old habits once I burned out. Find ways to actually enjoy working toward the things you want to accomplish and all of a sudden it will be way easier to accomplish them... because you won't even need discipline, you will actually want to do them. And like you said, schedule breaks in to relax a bit, nobody can be productive 24/7. I also re…

I think that's a really cool insight. Yeah I don't think people take the time to sit down and imagine in detail where exactly different choices would lead them in life. I might have to try directing my meditation that way sometime. Though I will say both approaches are better than either one alone. Psychedelics just throw your mind into such a unique state that it becomes almost impossible not to see things from a completely different angle than you would be able to otherwise. Which is very diff…

Oh that's true for sure. I guess I just don't think of that as actual red pill content as much as men venting about how shitty their situation is.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/22 06:17 PM
1

Hmm, I guess I don't see that in Red Pill content so much. Usually what I see is more along the lines of "women have such and such standards, so improve yourself until you meet them". I think the idea that women should lower their standards is more of a blue pill concept. Almost by definition, since red pill is at least supposed to be about seeing things as they are and working with them rather than wishing things were different.

I was including not taking no as a part of appearing deranged. Because yeah that would be a valid reason. I don't think that's the reason 99% of the time, though. And you aren't entitled to anything. That doesn't make ghosting any less immature or cowardly, though.
/r/seduction22/06/22 09:40 PM

Right, I just don't think the reasons are almost ever valid outside of the person appearing deranged.

Stop blaming women for ghosting. You will get ghosted 100000% of the time. Women have the right to choose who they want. It's not their fault or yours. I'm not sure you understand what ghosting is. Ghosting means not responding to someone out of the blue, not just deciding to not see someone again. Anyone with even a small amount of character will send a quick "I had a great time but I'm not interested" text before they stop responding. Not that I waste my time thinking about people who have gho…

Oh I know plenty of extremely low SMV guys who don't care as well (think blue pill white knight types). Most men I know still think women have it way harder than men and that it means you are a right wing nut job if you suggest men might have some serious problems that need addressing too. I don't talk about men's issues with most people, but out of the maybe 1-2 dozen men I have discussed it with only 1 or 2 of them seemed to care about it at all besides me. Though I'm talking about men empathi…

I think that depends how bad your face is to begin with. If you are obese, zitty, pale, and have a neckbeard you can easily rise 3+ points.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/22 02:46 PM
3

Being bald (that is, completely shaved) ages you when you are young but it makes you look younger when you are old since it masks grey, thinning hair. Though yeah as a bald guy you are correct, most women prefer someone with hair. Though a certain subset of women are REALLY into bald dudes so it's not all bad. It's just polarizing.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/22 02:19 PM

Being fit (especially having low body fat) makes your face look better. Plus you can always improve your hygiene, your facial hair, and maybe get a tan. Obviously there isn't much of a fix for height. Besides trying to mask it with tall shoes or a tall haircut, it is unfortunately just something you have to work around. And of course like someone else replied, you should be exercising for yourself anyways.

Loads of extremely cheap foods have very little sugar added. Beans, rice, eggs, milk, even ramen noodles etc. It's just not a diet most people would want to stick with. It's pretty much pick 3: money, health, time/convenience, flavor

I don't think it is being used correctly here, but the apex fallacy is evaluating a group by only looking at the top performing members of said group. A good example is believing men did well during the middle ages because the kings were men, despite the fact that most men were serfs. So the apex fallacy would almost be the opposite of this post: if you evaluate men by the top men only, you would think all men were doing fantastically right now. I think it is being used to mean what the other re…

I'm not entirely sure why video games have this reputation as being a child's activity while reading or playing a musical instrument is seen as a thoroughly adult behavior I think because they are newer (i.e. because kids play them more than adults... I think that will change over time) and because there are far fewer "higher" forms of video games compared to music and books. And yeah, it's tough. I think part of the key to quitting these things is to figure out why you need them in the first pl…

If you're looking for other ways to relax: walks, reading, socializing (e.g. grabbing food and talking with people), meditating, yoga, watching some higher quality media (videos/podcasts), bathes/showers. Just a guess since I haven't read the book, but I'm guessing he means don't sort of "pre-laugh" and plan to laugh right once someone finishes a joke. A lot of the time people laugh to build rapport with someone instead of because something is legitimately making them laugh, which comes across as needy and insecure if you do it too much.

The good parts of it do. Though there are plenty of miserable, delusional, and confused people on here that you have to watch out for (who will claim their views are in line with TRP and that views that go against theirs do not, just like most people on here do). You have to learn to develop a critical eye and pick and choose what makes sense to you, which Stoicism can help with too.

Hmm. I think you're probably right. I think a lot of it comes down to what I was trying to get at with my 5th paragraph (about pushing yourself while being easy on yourself). A lot of people probably associate routine with anxiety and forcing yourself to do things you hate, thus why they hate routine and go to things like memes for relief instead. It's better to follow a routine that is beneficial to you and doesn't make you miserable at the same time, which is difficult for people that are unha…

Interesting post. I think you are correct but in an oversimplified way. I agree completely that it is VERY important to pick up new positive habits while you work on ditching your old ones. Your mind is going to want to do SOMETHING with its time, so if you don't give it anything, it's going to get bored and stressed and you'll probably go back to your old habits. But at the same time, a given person can only handle so much change and stress at one time. Try to do too much and push yourself too …

Really outcome independence just means being process focused instead of results focused. It doesn't mean you aren't aiming your processes at achieving a specific result, it just means if you do everything right and don't get the result you were aiming at you just look at what you could improve in your process instead of getting upset about it. An easy RP example being if you went out and asked 10 people on a date and got rejected 10 times, an outcome dependent person would probably get depressed…

What original TRP content claims that marriage is a good idea if you vet correctly? I've never seen anything in TRP promote marriage unless maybe you want kids, and even then they are usually cautious about it and say basically what you are arguing against (that it's a gamble).

Random people on reddit won't be able to help you that much. I would start going to therapy (and if you already are, I would find a new therapist). It sounds like you can afford it. But I would guess a lack of human connection and purpose is what's killing you more than anything. I don't know anyone happy that focuses on money over relationships and doing something you actually care about. And the good news is that it sounds like you are financially stable, so you should have extra time to focus…

I believe therapy can help anyone. Two major things I would point out is that you don’t know what you don’t know. You can be getting by and think that you’re thriving when in reality you could be doing much better mentally. I use this quote too much, but I think it's fitting here: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." ― C.G. Jung You can't improve what you aren't aware of! Agree on the second point too.

They're kind of a fundamental part of flirting. I think you might be looking at them the wrong way. Most of the time women aren't really trying to disrespect you and make you mad. Most of the time they are just being playful and seeing if a little light hearted teasing is enough to fluster you. For me at least I find it fun, just mess with them back :-) Though like the top comment says SOMETIMES they are just straight insults. In which case yeah I agree with you, there's no reason to put up with…

And even then some of those are shit tests where the "correct" answer is to start ignoring her and do your own thing. Where she's basically saying "Hey is your self esteem low enough and are you desperate enough to put up with my insults and/or are you so weak you're going to let me make you mad?" and then once you respond like a person with confidence and self respect you "pass" the test. Though I wouldn't put up with those kinds of tests. It's generally not worth it.

I’ve been a bit depressed lately I’ll admit. Is this the cause? Almost definitely. People here are mostly ignoring that part of your post, but depression can make even doing simple things (like getting out of bed) a bitch, and high effort things like lifting are likely going to be pretty miserable. If you're legitimately depressed or otherwise can't figure out why you're feeling down, I'd recommend therapy (i.e. paying someone to help figure out why you are depressed). People on here won't be ab…

Yup, fantastic advice! The first two points are a great application of "Make it Simple" from Atomic Habits. For me I use a modified version of the two minute rule: if you just get to the gym consider it a victory (since getting to the gym takes way longer than 2 minutes). Usually when I'm there I'll start lifting, get into it, and have a decent session. Worst case scenario is you at least keep building the habit of showing up. Yeah, from what I read on Stronger by Science it's something close to the number of "good" (starting well rested and going to near failure) sets you have for a given muscle group. Rep ranges, rest times etc. don't matter too much if you accomplish that. Though supersets could likely help if you use the extra time you save to get more volume in.

I think to truly forgive people you first have to learn to accept (though not necessarily like) them and what they did. Easier said than done, but there are a lot of ways to train it. Like OP already mentioned, meditate! With meditation you are training to acknowledge your thoughts without judgement. Which put another way is to accept your thoughts as they are. Try to bring your meditation practice to your real life as well. If you notice yourself not accepting something, try to notice that thou…

That's what I do. You have to have at least a basic ability to read the signals (is she standing close to you, is she touching you, is she giving you lots of eye contact etc.) but it's not too hard to do in my experience. Usually if a girl is on a date with you she won't be too surprised if you try to kiss her. Also quick tip, don't move all the way in for the kiss unless you're very sure she wants it. Make her do at least 10% or something. That way if she isn't feeling it she can pull back.

Agreed on the first paragraph. I think the second just depends on how you define things. Buddhists would likely say something similar to that they are working towards a state of pure being, which is about as close to the OPPOSITE of suicide as you can get. Literally always living in the present moment. Though yes you can also argue giving up all desires and killing your ego is similar to suicide in some ways.

Hmm, I see that as almost the opposite. Westerners' obsession with material goods, comfort, and distractions has made us fat, lazy, nihilistic, and almost incapable of withstanding discomfort (i.e. has made us terrible in every single metric you just listed). Meanwhile Buddhist monks dedicate themselves to a cause they believe strongly in and work hard every day (through hours of prayer, meditation, reading, debating etc. every single day) to further it. Yeah TRP has some great advice, but it's mostly pretty negative. And even when it's positive a lot of the time it involves people humble bragging about their lives (intentional or not) which can make you feel worse by comparison. For another perspective: https://www.strongerbyscience.com/athlete-protein-intake/ TLDR 0.8 grams per pound are roughly the maximum needed (like you said), around 0.5 grams per pound are probably enough for most people. Agreed. Also it's pretty cheap and easy to make things more difficult so you don't need to do so many reps. For maybe $10 you can fill some sort of bags up with gravel and throw them in a backpack to add weight to your pull-ups and push-ups. For a little more you can buy a dip belt and some weights or a weight vest. Or you can always work towards things like one arm push-ups, pseudo planche push-ups, one arm pull-ups etc.

Just being aware of it is the first step, but it's not going to get you far. So I'm not surprised it's not helping you. To me it sounds like you're missing two things: confidence and mindfulness. Stoicism as the dichotomy of control (you can't control that you aren't perfect, so why waste your energy beating yourself up over it?) and Buddhism as the root of all suffering is attachment (in this case, attachment to some idealized version of yourself). Which of course doesn't mean you shouldn't take action that will lead you towards a better future. Both of these mindsets actually makes it easier, since if you have no anxiety or worr…

Agreed, though making acquaintances (which I'd call casual friends) is the first step to finding true friends. Once you have a lot of casual friends, you can start sorting them out into who your real friends are and who is just in it because it's currently in their best interest. See who is willing to help you, make sacrifices for you, and stick around when things aren't perfect (hopefully with you reciprocating). Because making sacrifices is really the only way to know how good of a friend some…

In other words you've made up your own definition for alpha and you are going to whine whenever someone doesn't follow it. Have fun with that.
/r/TheRedPill17/08/19 02:31 PM

I think the difference is you're talking about a true alpha, where OP is talking more about the alpha (leader) of a group of betas. The former is line you describe while the latter can be insecure and play a lot of bullshit games to hold his spot.

I've taken it for a few years and I still fall asleep right away without it as long as I exercise good sleep hygiene. But yeah if you can find a way to guarantee a good night's rest without drugs that's likely a better route.

I take 1 mg melatonin and a ZMA capsule an hour before sleep. Then I get ready (change clothes, brush teeth etc.), read for 40 minutes, and go to bed. For me the melatonin in particular helps, especially when late night screens are involved. Without melatonin, if I stayed on my computer until 11 I might not fall asleep for hours. With it, I pretty much fall asleep right away.

Eh, it's really not a very good metaphor at all. A trout doesn't have any higher brain functions so why would you ever ask a trout anything? Also women WANT to be caught (by high quality men) while a trout does not. Not to say the actual underlying message it's trying to get across is wrong, though.
/r/seduction21/06/19 07:09 PM

Metaphors are a type of implied comparison. They are fairly synonymous with each other.
/r/seduction21/06/19 07:04 PM

Not saying that I agree with him, but I don't think weak is really the right translation for beta here. He's almost certainly talking more along the lines of someone being more assertive with women (alpha) versus less assertive (beta). The less assertive guy is more likely to do what the woman says (making him a better "provider") while the alpha is more likely to put his foot down or leave her when she asks for things he isn't willing to do (making him a worse provider).

Looks-wise men don't peak until their mid to late 30's, and even after that they they age much better than women. You have plenty of time if you keep putting the effort in.
/r/seduction13/05/19 12:59 PM
2

Oh I wouldn't assume that. At least in my experience that's usually more likely a sign the woman has poor social skills or is nervous/anxious. When you're talking to someone that's socially competent, they'll probably be able to hold a decent conversation even when they aren't interested. Though that applies less to texting than in person.
/r/seduction22/04/19 03:28 PM

It's fine to want something (like we all do from pretty much every conversation we have ever had). Just don't go into a conversation expecting anything. Go in with the intention of providing value, and if you get something you want too, then great! If not, that's OK too!

You interact with ppl you work with then go home alone everyday and no one gives a fuck about you. OK, so you've tried the "try nothing" strategy and nothing has happened. Your brain is incredibly malleable. I always wonder about that. You aren't the pua community. You are one person in the pua community. And as far as I can see everyone else disagrees with you. And really what's the point in turning the definition of negging into "teasing"? But do whatever you want I guess, I don't care.
/r/seduction10/10/18 03:52 PM

Google's definition: Negging is an act of emotional manipulation whereby a person makes a deliberate backhanded compliment or otherwise flirtatious remark to another person to undermine their confidence and increase their need of the manipulator's approval. That's not what you are doing. I guess you can have your own personal definition for it, but it's not actually what most people consider negging. That's just teasing, since it's just joking and not actually meant to hurt their confidence. So …

I think you just use negging to mean making a joke where she thinks you might have insulted her for a second but really you didn't. Or maybe teasing. Legitimate negging involves saying something bad about her and not taking it back. Though I agree with the other guy, I like your examples!

With playing guitar you can think VERY hard about it and keep getting better on a technical level (you'll actually probably improve much faster than someone who plays without focus). I think for starting friendships and relationships it's fine, but for an individual conversation you should be OK with talking to someone you don't plan to spend loads of time with. If you are an introvert (like me) who often finds yourself being drained of energy in social interactions, it's because you're not doing it right. You're being drained because you don't know how to just have fun naturally, you're trying too hard. And there's the annoying paradox of the whole thing. I think the "to porn" part is key, and it's really just bad in the same way loads of things are bad (like Skinner Box type video games, TV, gambling, checking smart phones, certain drugs, overeating etc.). Quick question for you guys, how often do people here hang out with friends 1 on 1 or in groups of 3? Thinking about it, I'm pretty much always in groups of 4+ where it's tougher to talk about more intimate things (since some people might not be comfortable with it, some might not relate and get bored, some might not know the group well enough to trust them etc.). Not even really sure where to start with that... though I guess I could just start inviting 1 or 2 people to hang out :-P

Sort of. It's an app/website where people make groups (usually based around a specific hobby or interest, from things as specific as "competitive underwater basket weaving" or broad as "20's 30's 40's new friends") and then post events for those groups where you meet up to do something. Anyone that's a member of those groups (which are usually public and open for anyone) can then attend those events. Though I'm not sure it's possible to know for sure (for anyone), I guess it would be the same way anyone would figure it out: by learning to read people. There are plenty of other reasons beyond looks that people would want to hang around someone other than their personality (what I'm assuming you mean by "who you were"): money, power, status, attention, just because they're lonely. You just kind of have to learn how to tell when people actually like you by how they act.

Why do you think divorce is skyrocketing? That's a myth. Divorce rates are the lowest they've been since the early 70's. But yeah dating in general is a pretty shit situation for men at the moment and I agree what you mentioned is important. The issue I have with TRP is all the parts about gaming and manipulating people (which are specifically what set it apart from seddit, as stated in the side bar).

I agree with all that, but that's exactly what seddit offers. The whole reason for the existence of TRP (according to the sidebar) is that on top of that it's about sexual strategy and gaming people. See: A lot of you probably came here from /r/seduction and are probably wondering why we'd need a new subreddit if one dedicated to game already exists. Nobody besides you has said anything about making it without effort. Most of the things I listed above take effort. And there are other ways to get in shape besides lifting, you know. As much as I like lifting you can still get in great shape with only sports. Consistency and effort are the key.

You can definitely do well SMV-wise without lifting. As long as you eat well, stay hygienic, dress well, have reasonable genetics, confidence, and a good personality lifting weights is definitely not vital. Of course it will still help quite a bit.

You're acting like because people are saying the confidence from lifting helps with women that nobody is going to lift and is instead going to find other ways to build confidence.
