Child support is a scam and almost always used as a way to protect women.

Or his mom. Slowly win her over. Build a life together. Become his step father, and ground him for 2 weeks, no phone.

Our mediator said I should just cut my losses and walk away. By the end of the day he’d switched his stance and said he’d never seen someone be so difficult as my ex wife. She ended up having to cut me a check. Don’t give up.

Definitely experienced it myself man. I’m also in my 30’s. I can’t speak on the THC part of it at all, but it’s completely normal to have a bout of ED after divorce. Give yourself some grace.

I made the mistake of letting her parents influence everything she does. They were literally right up the road. They were all white trash minus her Mom.

My ex was literally a bully. Would basically just railroad me until I went along with whatever she wanted. If I didn’t she would just do what she wanted anyways behind my back. Or would make my life hell for going against her. But when confronted with any sort of conflict she would immediately start crying, claim abuse, and run to her parents house up the road.

Lol I try not to be a dick to people. I meant more along the lines of this new woman. I thought it would hit me hard that first rejection after the divorce. It doesn’t though. Not even mad at her. Just indifferent. It’s great.

Hell yeah brother! Enjoy it. My divorce went on for almost 2 years. I’d like to do some serious traveling too but money is tight after the fallout. We were just gonna go in state but haven’t heard from her. So instead I’ll be knocking out school work (finally got to go back and finish my degree) and spending the weekend with my son (which I was going to do anyway).

What’s the point of a prenup if a judge can just throw it out? She shouldn’t have signed it then.

Mine tried making false accusations. Never tried the restraining orders or anything like that though. Her parents are nice normal folk though. I personally think they thought it was all bullshit from the beginning. Her mom and I are still pretty close.

Yep. As she willingly gives him up so she can go on trips with her girlfriends and get dicked down by the new guy.

Did we marry the same woman? Mine blames me for how she acted too. This whole divorce I’ve always maintained that I have faults in this thing ending too. But according to her I’m 100% of it. Never mind her letting another man plow her, that’s also my fault because I’m not a real man.

I would block her but we have kids. And she’s messing up posting about how she’s going out partying and stuff on nights she’s supposed to have the kids. It’s just building up.

She’s dabbled in the inspirational quotes. The “the best way to be happy is to give up things you fought for that aren’t good for you” and stupid “cowgirl” posts.

No he was married. It seems they both blew their families up to be together. I think he might have dumped her fat ass though because she’s been in a mood. She also gets all “empowered” and becomes “strong” when she doesn’t go how she wants. You know the typical post everything on social media types.

It seems like she’s in a downward spiral from what I can gather. She’s wrecked up thousands in credit card debt. Gained a ton of weight, she talks the talk about working out, but she hits up McDonald’s and other shit multiple times a day.

I got the same thing man. For me it was like a switch went off. One day it was all fine and she told me everything was fine and ok, the next just pure coldness and hatred. That’s how it’s been since.

Isn’t it a thing that women lose interest in their husbands after childbirth? I thought I read something about it somewhere. I know my wife did. Granted we had other problems too, but nothing I didn’t think was that bad it couldn’t have been fixed. Something happened to her hormone wise after she gave birth. And not just postpartum. Hang in there man, it will get better. I can’t tell you when. I’m still going through it too, but it has to get better. Reach out if you need to, I’m always willing …

No worries. She wasn’t always like this. Things were really good for about a year and a half. She showed interest in the things I liked. Was really easy going. Hung out with my friends and family too. Then when stuff started getting serious she shut all of that down slowly. So I didn’t really notice until it was kind of too late and we were already married. I didn’t think that making all of these sacrifices were that abnormal for someone you love. Until I noticed I was the only one making sacrif…

Oh man take your pick. The fact I gave up my career so she could follow hers The fact I gave up living close to my family so she can live down the road from hers The fact I emptied my bank account to pay off her debt she’d wracked up and a new house The fact I gave up doing some of my hobbies to do stuff she liked, and because she didn’t like my hobbies Funny enough she’s now getting called out publicly for being a horrible manager by her employees, which could cause issues. That home I bought d…

Did we marry the same woman? Lol You got me with the hiding and lying about things, the valuing personal happiness over the children, inability to accept criticism, and the tantrums. That’s literally what I dealt with and still am. They sure are good at the being deceptive for awhile though aren’t they?

I’d say it was the night of the wedding. We got back to a luxury hotel room, even though we lived in the area and passed our home on the way there. I thought it would be nice if we stayed there. Did some hanky panky and just had a nice night. What happened was we got to the hotel room. She said her stomach hurt from drinking too much wine, and to not touch her. Which was fine because I wanted to respect her. But she’d already turned into this cold person I now know today. I don’t think it was ab…

Hey bro I know how dark those thoughts can get. Don’t feel bad for trying to handle it without her. I told my STBXW when I was having a hard time with life. She straight up told me if I thought about it than maybe I should have just killed myself. If she’s self-centered like my wife was, than it wouldn’t have mattered if you told her anyways. My wife was having an affair too, don’t beat yourself up bro. Hit the gym, eat good, therapy therapy therapy, no booze, no drugs, it’ll work itself out.

It’s been over a year it seems for them. And a buddy of mine said their honeymoon phase is probably still going since our divorce is still going on. That all his negative shit just gets blamed on me anyways.

I agree. I have plenty of blame in this marriage ending too. It’s just rough. She decided some other guy was better than saving our family.

Why do you think they get online and post shit like that? My STBXW posted one the other day about “the only way to be happy is to let go of things you fought hard for that are no longer good for you.” She never fought for the marriage. She just got mad when I started saying no, cheated, and blew the family up. The marriage also wasn’t that bad for her to go out and do what she did. Did we have our arguments? Yeah, but they weren’t marriage ending. Why do they get online and post this crap you th…

Kind of the same story here. I got the roommates card too. So I just slept in the spare bedroom. I had been for awhile anyways but not because I didn’t love her. It was literally I spent 10 years on rotating shift work and my sleep was all messed up. So I slept in the spare bedroom for a bit. Then she pulled that and I said fuck it and just stayed in there.

I think that’s part of what happened with mine too. She has a divorced friend who’s pretty toxic and loves drama. I’m talking drama like my STBXW had to go down and stop her from beating another girls ass one night like it was high school. We’re all in our 30’s…

Same. I remember my parents arguing all the time, they’re still married. They work hard to make things work. Marriage is not easy. No marriage is. They all take work. My wife never wanted to put in that work though.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 09:20 PM

Mine did the same thing. Told me there were never good moments. The only good moments were the kids. Cheats on me. Then literally today posts on social media about how “sometimes to be happy you have to let go of things you tried hard to save.” She didn’t try to save the marriage. All she did was tell me I took too long to get help and she was done. When asked why? “Because I say so” was her answer.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 09:19 PM

Damn man. I’m sorry you all went through that. I know that’s rough. Isn’t it crazy how they just flip that switch?

That’s what mine was. Maybe one day it will blow up in her face.

Yeah she always talked about how rich I was while we were dating too. I should’ve known.

She drove me mad during Covid with it. She was taking the infant around all these people and places and shit. I asked her to just relax a bit with taking them out during the height of that. She said it wasn’t real. I was worried what would happen if the baby got it since it was still new at that time. Her answer was the baby wouldn’t get it, “because I say so.”

Ever give any reason why?
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 05:46 PM

I agree. It’s just frustrating cause I needed help and the second things get hard my wife noped out. Meanwhile if she was even sick with a stomach bug it was “can you make me soup?” Even though she’d spent the afternoon telling me how much she hated me and wished I would just leave.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 05:42 PM
13

Lol that’s awesome. My wife’s favorite phrase was, “because I say so.” Something would happen and I’d ask what she would think would happen next. Or what we should anticipate for. When I asked her why she would say “because I say so.” Example would be like “hey I’m taking the kids to go do this thing.” I would bring up something to think about that could be a concern. She’d say “that won’t happen.” I’d ask her why it wouldn’t happen. Her response “because I say so.” Like oh, nothing will happen …

Did she put you down for not being as educated? Mine did. She used to tell me all the time how I’m smart but I’m just lazy and can’t commit to anything. Meanwhile I’d committed to my career and worked damn hard to get where I was. Then I gave that up so we could follow her career. Then bam, wants a divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 05:25 PM

Mine went bonkers in her early 30’s. Talking to professionals though it seems there may be more to why she is the way she is. According to her nothing is wrong with her though.

Mine has gone to therapy off and on. First time she went for a month online, never told me. When she finally did tell me I asked her why she stopped. Her answer, I kid you not, was “because I learned I couldn’t change you.” The second time she went she found a therapist in the local area who a lot of the therapists I have seen roll their eyes at. She basically told this lady that I’m not a real man, I was abusive (I wasn’t I had just started standing up for myself), and that all the problems goi…

You nailed it man. My wife pulled a lot of the same crap with the “you never tried to save the marriage crap.” Little did she see the shit I was dealing with internally for the better part of a year. I get into therapy and nope, it’s too little too late. Meanwhile she’s fucking some other dude behind my back. I hate this shit man. I hate what I’ve become because of this. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to trust again.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 05:15 PM
6

Sure does feel like it. I remember telling her my friend thought she was only about money. That look on her face, it wasn’t regret or hurt from someone thinking that. It was a “I’m mad because I got called out” look.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 05:10 PM

We ran into the same thing. I have an associates and worked my ass off for 10 years to get where I am. She gets her masters, applies for a job, doesn’t get it. In her eyes, and this is a direct quote from her, “the hiring board was rigged against me.” Nevermind the girl who got the position had the same education and experience in the career field vs. just the education.
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/23 05:04 PM
18

Yeah my STBXW has a masters. She constantly reminded me about it. It’s just funny because when we were dating she’s the one who wanted to get married so bad. Then we get married, and not long after, she wants a divorce.

I’m sorry you’re going through this man. Stay strong. Think positive. Don’t get too far into that slump. It’s ok to feel you’re feelings though. Feel them, get them out, move on. That cycle will most likely happen several times. I am over a year into this and I still have those slumps. Remember, therapy, gym, eat right, no alcohol. I know it’s cliché advice, but it’s recommended so much for a reason. Reach out if you ever need someone to talk to. We’re here for you.
/r/Divorce_Men24/04/23 03:11 PM

I have a question for you, did yours only apologize if you apologized first? And even then the words “I’m sorry” never came out? That’s what mine did. If I apologized the most I would get is “me too.”

Just pick something you like man. Doesn’t even have to be a theme. For example, I’m a big music guy. Love rock music. She hated anything and everything to do with it. In my house now I have a couple of posters from rock concerts I’ve attended hanging up on the walls. Looking for some paintings of Hendrix or Pink Floyd stuff once I can get the funds back up. But I have plenty of time. Most of the house is still bare though. You like sports? Do that! You like music? Do that! You like movies? Whate…

You nailed it. I wanted to try couples counseling. She wouldn’t even go. I talked to my therapist about it. He was the one we were going to do the counseling with most likely and he just became my personal therapist. I told him all the things about my wife, what’s been said, what’s been done. I told him all the things about me. My flaws in the marriage, what I’ve done. His exact words were, “don’t be so hard on yourself.” Even said, “if she was to have come into here, it would have failed anyway…

Not creative or petty, but live your best life. That’s what I’m trying to do now. I make my time with my kid count and she hates that. Kid was ecstatic to see me this morning. He left her arms so fast. The best was she was heading to work and on the way I was behind her. She could see us laughing and talking and having a good time. Then the time came for me to pass her and you could tell she was white knuckling the steering wheel of the truck I paid off and staring straight ahead. That’s the bes…

I guess I just took the vows too seriously. The “better or for worse” and the “til death do us part.” We had a discussion before we got married that divorce was never going to be an option. My shit got bad. I got diagnosed with PTSD, and in the heat of the moment threatened it. I regret it. But I never acted on it. I apologized numerous times for saying it. See a lot of stories on here and r/Divorce all pretty much the same story. Man was in a sexless marriage, did most of the stuff around the home, raised the kids, and still worked. Woman blows up family because “she isn’t happy.” Then goes around acting like a teenager again, does as she pleases at the expense of literally everyone else, doesn’t care who she’s bringing down with her. What’s the deal with women now days? Not all, but it seems more and more are acting like this.
