It is in the job description to assist those below you. It’s a very collaborative environment pretty much everything I know was taught to me by a more experienced coworker and now I do the same for the new people coming in.

I’m a woman working in a male dominated environment. At work I’m friendly but I would not hang out with any of them one on one outside of work. I actually had one situation where at a training a group of us decided to get together to watch the premier of a show. Only me and one guy showed up and we both kind of were like well if it’s not a whole thing let’s just go our separate ways. He was married and I’m in a relationship but it was still weird. And I’ve had coworkers who made a move and then …

That’s exactly what I do though. And it tells me if they can respect a no. A pretty good thing to establish before sleeping with someone no?

Yes I always deny sex the first time it’s an opportunity. Not to test his determination quite the opposite it’s to see if he will get all pushy or graciously accept the no like a decent person. Taking time to make out, do some heavy petting, and slowly escalate to having sex is part of the fun of a new relationship anyway. If a guy can’t enjoy that and respect the pace I want to go at I don’t want him.

I went through a phase where I really wanted to marry rich. Unfortunately as someone who grew up lower middle class it's hard to relate to rich people. There's like an inpracticality to them or maybe even childish aspect that I find hard to explain. If I weren't blinded by love maybe I'd say Hollywood good looks but I've always dated ugly men why stop now lol

I got a good job. I didn't date at all when I was unemployed because I felt like a loser and knew I would only attract another loser. The quality of guy I attract now with a good "cool" job is higher. I also used to not mention things that bothered me. Trying to be laid back and not sweat the small things but it would lead to me blowing up later down the line. Now I sometimes feel nit picky but if I don't like something I make it clear in the moment.

Timid? Hell yea I've found as an extrovert I prefer an introverted guy. Boring? Maybe I can deal with that if they are willing to be open minded once in a while. Not funny? No chance. I went on quite a few dates with this guy we got along great so I couldn't figure out why I wasn't into it. Then I realized that the only times we laughed on our dates was when I made us laugh. He had zero humor.

Someone coming from a happy, loving, well adjusted home is a giant green flag. It's something I'd prefer but I wouldn't hold it against a partner if they didn't come from that.

I mean I live in a major city I get hit on both politely and impolitely plenty. So I do get what you’re saying but I still don’t mind the polite ones. I’ve gotten dates with decent people just from meeting out and about. Maybe they weren’t true “cold approaches” like if a guy just walked up and just said hey can I have your number it would be a quick no but if we have a conversation with and at the end they ask for my number it’s no big deal. That’s just me though as someone who doesn’t use onli…

I think it’s possible to respectfully and politely cold approach people. I’m not saying just walking up and asking for a number but start a conversation to gauge if their receptiveness and then asking. And then of course gracefully taking a rejection if that’s what happens.

I was just talking to my friend about this today. You’re going to find people you are much more compatible with by seeking out those who frequent the same spaces as you. The conversation sparked because earlier I had been flirting with a store clerk at a specialty shop it was taking forever because we were just talking away about a mutual hobby. If he had asked for my number I 100% would have given it to him. It’s possible I may have misread this one conversation but in general just so often you…

Ugh people are so shitty. I know two women who got herpes from their boyfriends within monogamous relationships. One had diagnosed herpes before meeting her and didn’t tell her. The other is kind of unconfirmed but it’s pretty obvious he cheated on her getting herpes during their relationship. Both women stayed with the guy despite their LIES because they thought now that they have herpes no one will want them.

Ok let me know how many ladies you get in bed when you invite them over and they smell the pile of dishes in your kitchen sink the second they walk in. Or are you the type to just eat off paper plates?

I mean these are all important things that you can fit in alongside chores like most people do? I also think these are things that help you GET a partner not necessarily KEEP a partner. In my opinion things that would actually get you out of chores like dishes/cooking in a relationship are doing things around the house like fixing the sink or car. I don’t think looking fit and pretty alone makes you a good enough partner especially if you aren’t willing to pull your weight as a domestic partner.

I think the whole dichotomy between femininity vs. masculinity comes down to fragility vs. strength. If I man can be unaffected by alcohol it shows how strong and resilient he is if he gets totally turnt it shows how weak and vulnerable he is.

You shouldn’t sacrifice anything to conform to what the opposite sex wants but you could kind of emphasize or downplay qualities accordingly. So your friend who switched away from computer science could just not talk about his job too much and bam his boring “nerdy” job doesn’t matter as much. For example I like to knit, watch tv, and cook. Instead of telling a guy about the socks I knit while watching a reality tv show I’m going to talk about the edgy new drama I watched while eating a burger I…

All my long term relationships ended because the other person being controlling, an alcoholic, or abusive. While technically it’s not my fault I am well aware I have a bad picker. When I start to fall for someone I put on the thickest rose colored glasses. So I am accountable to the fact that I have a bad picker but I’m still not quite sure how to fix that.

I’ve resorted to just not conversing with men of a certain age I use a lot of curt smiles and nods. I hate it I’m incredibly friendly, extroverted, and just in general find people interesting but I’ve had too many instances of late 40s to 50s men saying something vulgar at some point in our interaction. Sir you are old enough to be my father.

I’m 27F I live a pretty hedonistic lifestyle. I don’t think life has much of a purpose so might as well indulge in the things that make me happy. However in your scenario you equate hedonism to sleeping around which I disagree with hedonism is much further reaching. For me being slutty doesn’t bring me happiness so it’s not a part of my hedonistic life. I still have virtues I’m just actively constantly seeking out happiness and I think I’m better off for it.

Omg sexcation I love it. I still like the idea of a mutually agreed upon couple though. It makes it clear where everyone’s alliances are which would cut down on jealousy, insecurity or overstepping.

That’s the funny thing outside of this I’m pretty vanilla. I would also bring it up long before love was there so there’d be no surprises. I get that it’s definitely not for everyone and it will probably be hard to find a guy who is enthusiastically down for it but a girl can dream.

I never really thought of it that way but maybe it is? It’s not that I want to make him jealous by watching me with someone else it’s that I want to watch him with someone else. There’s no humiliation spin to it in my mind. It’s like dinner and a show. I enjoy myself and get to watch live porn. For you would it be a jealousy issue? Or like an insecurity that she may like the other guy more than you? I wouldn’t be doing this with someone I don’t feel concrete with. Luckily I’ve never been the jea…

If you care about their death it’s appropriate to go to the funeral. Having a chance to say your goodbyes is a very valuable part of the grieving process don’t rob yourself of that just because you think it’s socially unacceptable. I think it’s pretty realistic to expect a fwb to attend your funeral. If you’re good to people they’d want to say their goodbyes.

As far as sex and relationships I’d like to have a committed life partner who would be down to occasionally, maybe once or twice a year, have group sex with another couple. Not swinging, not open, or poly relationship but all together in the same room. For my overall life I’ve got a lot of goals that aren’t very relevant to this sub. As far as progress I’m single so I’m definitely not anywhere close to my sex and relationship goals. Killing it in my non-dating life though.

I was in the midst of losing weight when it started and managed to keep it up. What really helped me was the bars/restaurants being closed I’d normally go out with friends like twice a week so when everything shut down we switched to taking walks or bike rides when we hung out. So instead of downing a bunch of calories twice I week I was burning them. I’m worried about the winter it’s gona suck all my favorite physical activities are outdoors :(
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/20 06:10 PM

Some kind of activity you do in your spare time for fun. There’s creative hobbies like art or music. Physical like sports. Educational like reading or learning a language. Outdoorsy stuff like hunting or kayaking. Crafting, video games, chess, bird watching, cultivating bonsai trees, or hell even making those reborn realistic baby dolls is a hobby.

Writing fiction is fun it’s fine if it’s trash if you’re not trying to be the next big thing. I’ve had artsy boyfriends and even when their stuff wasn’t amazing I still saw it as a positive attribute. I just don’t see either as nerdy pastimes. They maybe appeal more to an introverted partner? But they both still show you have a passion, creativity, and motivation for something.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/20 10:23 PM

Plenty of people do treat it like a hobby but it’s definitely not. No doubt there are hobby-less women out there too and it makes them a less appealing partner. The question was specifically about men but it goes both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/20 09:54 PM

Neither of those seem very nerdy though. With drawing there’s not much to talk about yea but they can look at your drawings and appreciate it. And writing fiction could be endless discussion who doesn’t like a good story? I’m biased though as I enjoy writing fiction and felt a pang of embarrassment seeing it called a nerdulent snoozefest.

Still a problem for me. There are so many fun or productive or adventurous or enriching things to be up to someone who engages in zero of infinite options is just unimaginative and sad. Hobbies bring your life a lot of good things without them you would be living an unfulfilling life.

I would not date a man without hobbies. I mean what does he do with his time if he has no hobbies? What do we do on dates? Just seems like a sad existence. I see it as indicative of other character flaws as well.

I think as long as gaming isn’t their ONLY hobby it’s a fine hobby to have. I’ve never dated a man who didn’t enjoy some kind of gaming on a regular basis. It’s fun and for a lot of guys social when they have their headset set up.

Certainly not stares or getting hit on don’t bother me personally but what I do feel entitled to is for a guy to not walk up and like grab my ass or generally treating me as an object. That’s a level of control most men have regardless of what is happening in their brain when looking at my hot bikini bod. Those without that control would be treating me as an object regardless of my attire. Ideally a man wouldn’t think of me as an object but as long as he doesn’t actively treat me as an object I …

There are a lot of situations where a person has to use their developed human brain to override their primitive monkey brain. Men may see bikini clad women as objects because their monkey brain says so but most men are going to be able to resist acting on those initial thoughts using more advanced thinking.

This makes sense I’ll definitely keep it in mind but I do still think talking about what you do indicates those traits. I talk about all my trips so they know I’m a traveler. I talk about hanging with my friends and general social life to show extroversion. I talk about how much I play tennis or go biking/the healthy meal I made for dinner last night so they then know I’m physically active/value my health. I think just in general showing is better than telling.

Today I’m grateful to have found a new way of holding my knitting needles. Spent a good chunk of my Sunday trying different holds, lacing the yarn through my fingers different ways, and placing rings on different fingers to see if it helped my tension. Now I’ve developed my own ideal hold that is super comfortable and allows me to knit faster. It’s also been a week since I last had a cigarette I’m really killin it lately.

So what would you prefer? Like a list of characteristics? I feel like if I told a guy I was smart, dependable, hardworking, and funny it would be kind of sus no? I don’t go around telling people I’m dependable I show them by not flaking and showing up on time. I don’t talk about how smart I am I talk about the things I’m knowledgeable about to show I have smarts. I’m still curious how you’d prefer someone to describe themselves to you.

Alcoholism is bad too as is smoking and a plethora of other things that are hard to quit or change. Ask an obese person about their quality of life. I read about a woman who has to do “bathroom yoga” where she takes a shoe off and a pant leg off to prop her leg on the wall so she can wipe herself. Publix is a grocery store no? Where do you believe women get their groceries? That statement alone is perplexing do you think if you had a woman in your life you’d have to forever shop at Whole Foods and buy wagyu beef? Most women shop at a Publix/Aldi/Any other run of the mill grocery store. So if you didn’t have a woman around you wouldn’t fix things in your home? Within a relationship yes you have responsibilities but don’t you always? Yea for sure a woman would prefer the man with more money over looks. A small personal caveat to that rule are rich men who were rich kids. “Fuck Me Pumps” by Amy Winehouse is all about women hitting the wall after riding the cc.

I mean maybe not on demand but it’s certainly a thing to have sex even if you don’t necessarily want it. I went through a horrible bout of depression and sex was the last thing on my mind but I was still having sex with my partner because I love him. Sex is important so sometimes you do it even if you’re not super jazzed about it. Couples do things for each other all the time that they don’t actually want to do.

Lmao get a load of this guy who thinks it takes a high income to be a good person. My argument was that it’s detrimental to the children even if it seems good for the mother. Nowhere did I say a man has to have a high income to be a good father. Or even that they need to be married but when possible a child is far better off in a two parent household.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/20 02:28 PM
2

I think it’s negative for the children involved. First of all it’s incredibly damaging to grow up without a father. Even if the father is involved part time a full time father is best. Women should choose wisely who they pick to father their child because a bad father is worse than all of the above. The children are also missing out on seeing what a healthy relationship dynamic should look like. Obviously there are many situations where having both parents together isn’t possible but that should…

Unless I’m apart of some massive underground women’s group dedicated to slowly driving lonely men mad I would not say my excluding men is akin to abuse. Are lesbian, asexual, and married women also abusive towards men in your opinion? I do not have a standard for high status men that’s your assumption. I am an office manager for a small business and generally date blue collar men. I and everyone exclude people romantically and platonically for all sorts of reasons. If I were a vegan I wouldn’t d…

And there are men who exclude me because I don’t meet their standards. What are my standards that I wouldn’t meet? You could argue years of loneliness and a beating could cause comparable levels of trauma. Where they differ is that my individual rejection of you does not directly and immediately cause years of loneliness and trauma while with physical abuse one individual is inflicting all that trauma in one fell swoop.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/20 03:41 AM

I certainly was blind to it until I found PPD. I always actively practiced hypergamy I just didn’t have the vocab for it. That is what my own definition of hypergamy is. To me it’s having a mans status/income in mind when entering a relationship and placing more value on men with a better status/income. I am always well aware that dating or eventually settling down with a different kind of man will result in a different kind of lifestyle. I once held on too long to a relationship with a lawyer b…

You’re bringing up a whole lot and making some personal assumptions to derail this but I’ll do my best. You’re original argument was that a lot of men don’t find most women worth pursuing I’m saying no matter what men are saying online they are still by and large pursuing women. Some pursue for sex some for sex and relationship but most men are in fact still pursuing. So why ask women what they think about that sentiment when in real life it’s just not an issue. So to you long term pussy=relatio…

I’m curious how you are able to tell everyone’s just looking for pussy. Most of the men I know in real life have pursued relationships. Some signs a guy considers something a relationship over just chasing pussy is commitment, staying faithful, marriage, supporting a significant other through school, buying homes together, and just generally treating their partner well in order to keep them around. Asexuals are outliers and we are talking about relationships in general. An asexuals relationship will look a little different than most. Yes a romantic partner is good for all those things but I don’t care if they cuddle me and remember my doctors appointments if we are not also having sex. If a person did everything mentioned above minus sex they are a good friend if they do everything you mentioned plus sex they are a romantic partner. Sex defines it(if you want sex or can have it). It doesn’t define it you can have a sexual relationship without a romantic one but can you really have a romantic relationship without the possibility of sex at some point? Sex is sex it could be had with anyone and can be enjoyable but a romantic relationship with no sex? Not very enjoyable.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 09:26 PM
2

Without a doubt I think someone who may down the line choose a poly relationship probably struggled a lot in their early dating because they couldn’t pinpoint what it was that made monogamous relationships unsatisfying.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 09:24 PM
2

Not at all I’ve never had a friends with benefits because the only benefit is sex. With fwb you’re missing out on all the romance and companionship. I’m saying that without sex(at some point) it’s not much of a romantic relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 09:21 PM
6

You can have a sexual relationship without a romantic relationship but your romantic relationships are going to involve sex at a certain point. To me a romantic relationship wouldn’t be worth pursuing no matter what feelings were involved if there was no potential for sex. I think most sane people would agree sex with a prostitute is not a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 09:16 PM
1

Sex defines a romantic relationship but it’s not the only benefit you get from it. So even though there are plenty of bodies to provide sex most people are still going to choose someone they enjoy to have sex with. Some people will sleep with anything but most have certain qualities they want in a partner. Being satisfied with your current partner or working out some kind of poly life is more a matter of a persons morals than sex. You can really love sex and still stay faithful.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 08:19 PM
7

I feel like STDs are never a big enough piece of the conversation. A lot of guys on here talk about only sleeping with girls who will have sex right away but that sounds like a recipe to catch all the STDs.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 08:09 PM
37

Because sex is what defines a romantic relationship. I can get most of what a relationship gives me from friendship except sex. I think sex is too high on some people list of priorities but it’s certainly a priority. Also sex is rad so people will do a whole lot to get it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 08:01 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 07:56 PM

Other than faking the dropped check how do women know these things about you without dating? Like I get that you can create clout and lie about income to attract someone but how do you actually get laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/20 07:51 PM

I was just talking about this with some friends. All the women said at check ups the doctor always asks if they’d like an std test but the men were all saying they are not usually asked and they have to bring it up to get tested. I think male or female why not make std testing an opt out kind of option rather than an opt in so doctors would always ask and if you don’t need it you decline.

I think it’s overstated on platforms like reddit an anonymous place to ask questions and understated in real life where there is still a lot of stigma to being in an abusive relationship. In real life people are not fully honest because it’s embarrassing or shameful to admit. On the internet someone may over exaggerate because it’s their story and they are trying to get responses that will back them up. I also think the parameters that constitute abuse has now become broader than in the past. It…

So how I would interpret that is that there was initial attraction/flirtation but with further investigation they realized they weren’t feeling it. That’s okay! That’s normal and that’s dating it’s not realistic to really hit it off with everyone you flirt with.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/20 07:28 PM
1

Yea that’s definitely not too soon. Did these people show any particular interest in you? For me personally if I meet someone I’m into I flirt very subtly to see how responsive they are and then once I’ve noticed their attention is mostly on me I flirt harder. If those initial subtle flirts get no response though it’s probably best to back off.

Not trying to be rude but it might just be you. As a woman this is kind of bizarre. With most fostering you would still be dealing with mothers/dads. The point of fostering is to give a parent time to get into the right position to get the kids back so likely you’d be carting them around to court ordered visitation with their bio parents. There are of course kids completely abandoned in the system but that isn’t necessarily the norm. Fostering can be a hard time but if you have the temperament to do it and can provide a happy stable place hopefully you’ll help some kids out in …

There are those who treat dating like a hobby. Dating constantly and usually multiple people. There are those who date only when they meet someone interesting. I don’t think social circles have a huge role unless your social circle really overtly demonizes or praises one or the other. I on the other hand am not a big texter I’m fine to only text when setting up plans or a quick check in when something noteworthy happens. Ahh gotcha. I don’t agree with what she did it seems backwards buuut like a said the moral spectrum is wide. She can sleep with or not sleep with whoever she pleases. Do your best in your dating life to stay away from women who think that way.

First of all guys need to realize that most women, even attractive ones, aren’t all riding the “cock carousel”. Personally I only sleep with someone when I think I want a relationship with them. So far half of my sexual partners have turned into long term relationships. I’ve slept with tall, short, skinny, fat, rich, poor to me if we vibe we vibe. My longest most in love relationship was with a guy who was objectively not good looking but he was charming as shit and treated me right. Now I do ha…

I’m not entirely sure what the issue is? She did something that he didn’t like and she got dumped for it. She’s already paid the price for her actions and in the future will maybe think twice about doing something like that. I still don’t think she’s a bad person. Everyone’s morals are all over the spectrum. It’s good that they found theirs didn’t line up early on.

I don’t think this is that weird of a situation. She didn’t do anything wrong and neither did he. When I first started dating my last boyfriend we both were seeing, as in casually dating and sleeping with, other people that we already had been dating before we met. When we realized things were looking good between us after dating a while and not yet sleeping together we both stopped seeing the other people. A woman can date multiple people and sleep with who she chooses. A man can choose not to …

I think this needs to be broken down into in real life and online. In real life dressing slutty or modestly will get you similarly objectified. There was once while in slacks and a dress shirt a man propositioned me to go to his hotel room. Creepy dudes gona creep regardless of your outfit. Online you are exposed a huge pool of men with a level of anonymity. People will talk a lot of shit from behind a screen that they would never dream of in real life. So when you hit on a woman who sexualizes …

Would he be better off if he could have sex? Yes. That’s why I say if he doesn’t find anything morally wrong with prostitution he should go for it. All I’m saying is he’s getting a prostitute because he wants a prostitute. I don’t see the need to justify it with physiology. He’s making a choice that for him as a man is harder to resist than it would be for me as a woman but it’s a choice. There are plenty of men who in the midst of a dry spell choose to not get a prostitute despite all their bal…

You have zero options? You have the option to not have sex. It’s not as fun or satisfying as a prostitute but it is an option. I’m a woman who’s more or less in the same boat, minus the boners, so I feel your pain. It has not once crossed my mind to hire a prostitute. If you truly cannot wait and have no moral qualms with prostitution nothing is stopping you. But don’t act like it’s some inevitable outcome of no sex I’ve known plenty of men and women who can go without sex much longer than 6 mon…

On a third date I told a guy I was moving. Something he knew I was looking to do. He legitimately got angry like I was doing something wrong by putting my life long goals before someone I was casually dating.

I date men my standards are less about n-count and more about relationships. If I man hasn’t ever had a serious long term relationship it gives me pause. My partners have had n-counts from 0 to 30ish and neither bothered me. What did bother me was a guy admitting he had NEVER had an std test despite having 6 past partners. Get tested and use protection y’all! It only takes one time to catch an std!

I enjoy reading FDS but the women on it are without a doubt hateful. They like to preach about supporting other women but a lot of the threads focus on bringing down women that don’t adhere to their strict moral guidelines. At its core the advice is to level up/improve yourself so you are worthy of the best men and have zero tolerance for red flags these are things I value learning from FDS. When they get into “spinning plates” and insisting a man pays for everything they lose me. Romance is two…

Shits rough I’m so sorry for your loss and unfortunately you will always mourn his death. But with time your memories of the good times you all had will shine brighter than the memories of his leaving. Obviously if it is available and affordable for you talk to a therapist who specializes in loss. My advice is go in hard, dredge up all the memories of the amazing times you had together, and cry cry cryyy. If you bottle it up now it’ll resurface later in life. Also know that his belief that he is…

I’ve found the opposite has happened in my friendships after finding FDS many have flourished. Having and maintaining female friends to me has been a part of leveling up. I’m focused on myself and part of what makes me a happier better woman are my friendships where we can share joy in each other’s hobbies, council each other in life, laugh together, love and support each other. Life is impossible alone so I can’t imagine being and staying a high value woman without a support system. I love my p…

I was sleeping over at my boyfriends place and I had to leave very early to get to work I kissed him goodbye and he was clearly half asleep. I go out to my car and it won’t start I’m cranking the engine over and over and nothing. I get out of my car and he’s already walking over in his pajamas with quarters for the meter and his car keys. I took his car and by time I was off work he had bought the part my car needed, a lucky guess on his part, and had already replaced it.
